    I like them. Small light and simple. Actually I have the most success with the GP-2.
    Had my first one fail yesterday. It held for about 24 hours then I found it flat. Almost dark I didn't feel like changing it. This morning go to change it and it had sealed itself back up and was holding! Slapped another one over it just in case. We shall see.
    Just got stranded last week because I couldn't get a standard kit to stick at all. It was my first time using one and I don't think I was patient enough and conditions weren't right. Hot and humid.

    Ive used these on butyl tubes for decades, and they work great.
    I'm just now testing them on TPU tubes with pinprick punctures, and they also seem to work okay at 40-50 psi in a 40mm gravel bike tyre. I dunno how long they'll hold. But results are good so far.

      Brian good to know and thanks for the feedback.

    Were you trying to patch your tire? These are tube patches not tire patches.

    • @IvansBikesBmws
      @IvansBikesBmws  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yup a tube not a tire, but I got it to work in my latest video. Look up my recent videos. Basically I did not rough up enough so it did not wanna stick.

    I hope you’re not using these on the actual tire?? I’m testing them now overnight at 100PSI and gotta say the application was great.

      Sorry I am not sure what you mean on the actual tire? Also confused with a outcome, is it holding up or ?

    I agree that these don't work for a permanent fix. In the shop I worked at we would sell these to people because they are much lighter and easier to use than like the Rema tt kits.

      Yeah thanks for the comment. I think the glue is not good enough, but at least people know what they are in for. Hopefully we can spread the word on here.

    These have never let me down but I run wider tyres at 60 PSI or less.

      @IvansBikesBmws  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good to know. Will do a test on a wider tire.

    Vielleicht solltest du die Teile auf den Schlauch kleben und nicht auf den Mantel 🥳

    I agree. I used them, tube gone flat after 5mins, so I used another, which was applied to a roughened and clean, dust free surface (cleaned with IPA) and tube gone flat again in like 10minutes. Standard kit saved us.

      Keep the spare tube handy! Eh

    You are using them on the outside of the tire? It's a tube patch not a tire patch. Good grief.

  • @Werkaholik261
    @Werkaholik261 11 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    Really? It didn't take because you may have reinstalled the inner tubing incorrectly. I've been cycling for over 40 years and NEVER had a problem with this brand of patches. No flats by morning. That's on you, not the product. Sorry my friend. Another tip is to super-inflate your tires slightly to make sure the seal takes hold. Again, I've had no problems with these patches.

    Why you say useless and not recommended when you say in the video that they are good in an emergency to get you home? Sounds like a use to me. Probably a better title might have been "Park Tool GP-2 for short term use only" or something like that.

    • @IvansBikesBmws
      @IvansBikesBmws  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well useless if you have a long ride home and got no pump. It is very unreliable.

      You said "got no pump". "No pump" = not getting home, period, with or without fixing the leak. Your statement is silly.

    • @IvansBikesBmws
      @IvansBikesBmws  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mackirkpatrick3997 Regardless these things have already negative stigma tbh. Also if you live in a country where summers are short like Canada, better stick with a new tube.

    Just to be sure mate, you know the patch goes on the innertube inside the tyre, not on the outside of the tyre itself, right?. I have found however, if the hole is more than a circular hole, then the patch may not hold, I have a cm long cut in my inner tube, the patch went on 3 days ago, but even after all that drying time, the tube still won't hold air, the hole is too big for the patch.
