Legendary Band CAPSIZED DISCO with This FUNKY #1 Rock Smash! | Professor of Rock

- In 1980, the quiet, reserved, bassist for one of the most popular rock bands, created a track that LIT up disco balls in the clubs and blasted over the airwaves around the world. John Deacon of Queen embraced disco with a funky bassline and the song THAT WOULD BECOME Another One Bites the Dust was enhanced even more once his flamboyant singer Freddie Mercury got a hold of it and bludgeoned the Disco semantics with a rock and roll swagger and Brian May’s shredding guitar took it even Higher. Queen turned Another Ones Bites the Dust into the best song of Disco. But there would be controversy when parents said that the song was evil. They claimed that if one played the song backward a subliminal message would corrupt teenagers' minds. The story of a sports anthem inspired by the band Chic, and crusaded by the King of Pop- that was a huge departure for one of the world’s greatest rock bands, and became the quartet's biggest-selling single in America. NEXT… on Professor of Rock.

Queen’s biggest-selling song of all time is of course Bohemian Rhapsody, but their biggest-selling physical single before digital music is actually Another One Bites the Dust. Just under 2 million people actually bought the physical copy in the early 80s. Another 4 million people have paid for a digital download since then.
The mastermind behind the song was the under-appreciated bassist for the band, John Deacon, affectionately called “Deeky” by his bandmates. “Another One Bites the Dust” is a furious assault of disjointed paranoia, highlighted by a sick riff, and Freddie Mercury’s fiery histrionic vocal. John Deacon grew up with a fascination for rhythm and funk.
He recalled being drawn to soul music as a lad, and dreamed of one day creating a song with a heavy dance groove that would attract black and white audiences alike. In 1978, Deacon was hanging out with the groove-masters of American R&B- Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards, who were the driving forces of the band Chic. Chic had a knack for crafting instantly seductive dance hits that thrived during the Disco Era, putting out a string of 9 consecutive tracks that lived in the Top 5 on the U.S. Dance Club chart from 77 through 79.
As the late Bernard Edwards, the incomparable bassist for Chic, recalled in an interview with the New Music Express- Deacon was ‘kicking it’ in the studio with the band, and he was obsessed with the song “Good Times.” The track’s infectious riff was magic to Deeky’s ears, and fired up his impulses to create a similar riff for his band….Queen. He came up with a simpler, less syncopated, derivate of “Good Times" that he tweaked, and tweaked until he felt it was ready to present to his bandmates.
Meanwhile, Chic’s “Good Times” captivated more than just John Deacon, and boogied its way to #1 on the Hot 100 in 79.

Roundabout YES
RIP Chris Squire
Bouree - Jethro Tull
"For Whom The Bell Tolls" - Metallica
Papa was a Rolling Stone- Temptations
Superfly- Curtis Mayfield

Eminence Front - The Who / Money - Pink Floyd
Being a Highlander fan, I'd love to hear a deep dive into "Princes of the Universe" and/or the albumn "A Kind of Magic"
My only criticism is: not one of rock’s greatest bands, but THE greatest band 😁.
The hidden gem of The Game album is Dragon Attack, a funk-rock prelude to Another One Bites the Dust.
Queen could do it all: rock, speed metal, heavy metal, disco, prog, skiffle, rockabilly, vaudeville, soul, gospel, grunge, country, pop, power ballad, Christian rock, opera, and some songs that don’t have a category.
Haha 19:12 Reminds me of a seminary teacher in high school telling us that playing this backwards said "decide to smoke marijuana". We got ahold of a reel to reel machine from the band teacher and played it backwards - then laughed our heads off that it actually sounded just like that! 😂🤣😂 I've never heard the alternate "it's fun to smoke marijuana", but either way... it's very convincing! LOL
If playing recordings of people singing backwards is a valid form of building a case against them, however, when happens if I record a church sermon and play it backwards and hears some "satanic messages". Will God judge what we say based on hearing it backwards? If that's the case we are all dekcuf.
@@istankimjong-unbutcantstan3398 You're preaching to the choir.
Adam, I might have missed it, but I don't think you mentioned Weird Al's parody "Another One Rides The Bus."
I think he got it but I don't know if anybody is aware of a rap song based on AOBTD. We all loved it in high school. There were quite a few rap renditions of pop and r&b tunes. In some way, it was like when Weird Al would parody something, but in the case of the rap song, it would follow the theme of the original song to some degree. This was nothing like songs "sampling" another song to rap over, the titles for the rap song usually were the same as the original song. You would have had to been there to mean what I understand.
What was cool about this song was that it could be played on just about any radio station... rock, disco, or alternative. Didn't know about its parallel to "Good Times".. It's truly become a phrase everyone knows... Good one, Professor!
Good observation!
I completely agree. This song crosses genre lines in multiple directions. I’ve never met any rock music fan who can’t sing along with it.
The song was a huge crossover.
@@sariahut1
While it wasn’t played on stations, many a country fan would crank it up as well. I don’t know of too many high schools in that time that everybody didn’t chime in after a victory.
I would have never thought to classify the song as disco. I can see it as part a disco set however. I remember it on the car radio in 1980.
If I had been ask its genre, I think I would have said Punk or New Wave.
Side note: the lead singer in Adam and the Ants was a long time punk rocker before forming his New Romantics band.
I love this song, from the first few seconds of the pulsating beat, to Freddie's hypnotic vocals, you know that you're in for a musical treat.♥️
So true!
Steve walks warily down the street…
I believe you can't overstate how much influence Chic's Good Time had on music in the early 80s, for good reason. That funky bass is irresistible in this Queen smash. I remember this song was played constantly in the Detroit area when the Lions were on a 6 game win streak in 1980. If you can feel the funky dance beat of Another One Bites The Dust you probably don't have a pulse. Fantastic episode professor!
I agree! Thanks My Name!
Do you mean Chic's "Good Times"?🤔
@@TallyDrake oops, yes thank you
They also influenced Duran Duran. Nile Rodgers worked with them on The Reflex and other tracks- his influence is very clear. John Taylor is also an excellent bass player.
Good Times is still one of my favorite songs of all time.
There is no band in history like Queen. No one can imitate their sound on their level.
Finally someone says this about a band OTHER than the Beatles.............
Good point. None before none after.
I was really young when this song came out, and I always considered it a song for adults and older kids, but when Weird Al released “Another One Rides The Bus”, it became our song. My friends and I played both of them nonstop.
That’s a great parody!
Yes failed to mention Weird Al parody in the segment. I think was his parody that might have been his first hit.
I remember vividly the first time I heard "Weird Al" Yankovic's parody! This was yet another case of hearing Al's version before the original since I was, at the time, not so much into rock and roll. Once I heard Al's version, I went and got Queen's album. After that I had to get everything they put out. Come to think of it, maybe Al is the reason my record collecting started! That, of course, led to my career as a disc jockey! Once I amassed a huge collection, I had to do something with it!
@@Imageking1969 A college friend tried to talk me into having a radio show back then, but I was too afraid--so I continued to force friends a few at a time to listen to new records in the 70s! lol If I'd had the guts to try the show, I would have made those friends sit in the studio with me, because it was in what might as well have been called a haunted house at the edge of campus and I imagined "Play Misty For Me" scenarios! Also, it was a religious college and I thought my albums of Queen, Bowie, etc. might be censored and I was in enough trouble.
Summer of 1980 & Another One Bites the Dust & Celebration by Kool & The Gang were the big songs.
You know it! Should we cover Celebration?

There is an old Aiwa commercial. Driver turns on the song, volume up and starts rocking. Cars pass by and wave, he's having fun. Turns out he's driving a hearse, cars behind on the way to cemetery. Always think of that commercial when I hear the song. Really funny.
So glad Prof referenced Junkyard Dog! WWE in the 80's had such an influence on the culture of 80's kids. Thanks for the memories Prof!
You bet! So classic!
John Deacon did MUCH more for Queen than most people ever knew. The Game, is a GREAT album. These are such funny stories here. I think Freddie wore a cowboy hat during "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" on The Game tour in Dallas Tx. hahah
Did you get to see them on tour?
My favorite Queen song is Dragon Attack. Deacon's bass lines, along with May's searing guitar, is peak Queen in my opinion.
That song definitely kicks ass - the mini bass solo is awesome and Brian's licks and solos are 🔥
Deaky is a criminally underrated bass player. Dragon Attack, Cool Cat, Liar are deep cut examples of Deaky’s genius.
Dragon Attack is bad-ass!
Dragon Attack is one of their best. Adam - and Neil Fairclough, particularly -does a great job with it on the QAL tours.
That clean funky guitar part gets me every time. This song never gets old.
So funky!
That was John Deacon also.
He played all the guitar parts except the solo
And Brian May dropped a few licks here and there
Especially in the second verse where it gets really funky.

Damn Billboard to hell for making these damn charts paywalled. I hate what capitalist do to everything with their damn money-ifying everything. Never happy unless they ruin something. Well Give Me The Night was number one in September of 1980.
I love this! Even Miss Ross was jamming to Another One, I bet. That funky beat was enough to turn her upside down.
John Deacon definitely on my top 5 of bass players..Soo many great songs that he wrote..my favorite would be "Need your loving tonight"..Great as always Adam
This song was what introduced me to Queen (well, the entire The Game album) John Deacon was such a great bassist for the group. He's got several great bass riffs like Under Pressure and Dragon Attack.
Great songs!
A truly superb bassist.
Another One Bites The Dust is Queen`s 4TH biggest hit here peaking at 5 in December 1980 ;;behind Bo Rhap Crazy Little Thing And Radio Ga Ga ; PS Chic Good Times did not make the top 40 here in Australia peaking at 48 in October 79
I keep thinking "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" is by Cheap Trick...........
😆 I recall back in the 80s during the satanic panic, when people were playing all sorts of songs backwards to find evil messages, there was a guy who claimed that playing STRYPER's Sing Along Song backwards resulted in a hidden, Godly message! 🤪
The Christian rock group *PETRA,* in their song "Judas Kiss" included a deliberate backward message at the beginning of the song that said,
_"What are you looking for the devil for, when you ought to be looking for the Lord?"_
Maybe the backward crowd should consider the backward spelling of "God". What are they gonna do, have the name removed from the elbib?
@@istankimjong-unbutcantstan3398
Whereas backward masking is silly...faith in God and reading His word is not! 😉
Nice one, Michael Jackson!
Ha ha!
John Deacon gave us one of the sweetest bass lines ever.
No question.
And most iconic!
"Back Chat" from Hot Space is also a fantastic bass line and tune that was like the little brother to "Another One Bites the Dust". When thinking about John Deacon and his understated manner, I always think about the Queen Magic Years documentary from the mid-'80s. The famous race car driver Jackie Stewart was recalling a time where he was at a party or a concert with Deacon. Stewart asked him what type of car he drove, expecting the response to be a Ferrari or Porsche. Instead, Deacon responded that he drove a Volvo. Classic! He was a great songwriter, though. I love the carpe diem anthem from ADATR, "You and I" from '76, and all of the cool material from the second side of Queen II was put together by Mercury and Deacon in late '73/early '74 while May was in the hospital recuperating. Great stuff. Thanks and have a great weekend! - Dave
What was wrong with Brian May - what was he recuperàting from ?
He got hepatitis in May '74 and an ulcer in August '74, but I was wrong. May's absence impacted the recording of Sheer Heart Attack (released later in '74) and not Queen II, which was released in February 1974. @@jamesbarbour8400

Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards are musical legends who both with Chic and their production credits through the late 70s and 80s with Nile working with Madonna, David Bowie, and his session work, and Bernard working with the power station, Robert Palmer and etc together and individually these men brought so much to modern music
I saw a clip today of Robert Palmer telling a local London news channel in 1988 of how he heard one of his singles playing in a house in the UK as he walked past. He said he could not resist knocking on the door. When the husband answered Palmer told him it was his new song but he was not believed until the wife came to the door and confirmed it was indeed Robert Palmer. Cool story.
@@eightiesmusic1984 that's such a cool story thanks for sharing I love stories like this

@@xxlilly_playsxxkiz9980 that he did and I really like the notorious album Its definitely an album where John's bass playing really shines and John got to work with both Bernard Edwards which he did with the power station the previous year and in 1986 with Nile on the notorious album
I'm tired of hearing the term "black community". Aren't we all supposed to be one community? If we continue to emphasize race, we will be never be truly free.
This song was used by the Detroit Lions during their playoff run in 1980 with another great #20. Billy Sims!

This is one of my favorite songs, EVER!!!
I was 14 yrs old.
I was at my boyfriends and it was so stifling inside the house.
We went out onto the roof for fresh air, and were just laying there, looking at the stars and talking.
All of a sudden, the roar of motorcycles filled the silence, and over that even louder was the sound of Freddy Mercury belting out this amazing song.
It left such an impression on me, I was in love.
Sometimes, I wish I was still back there...
hearing this song for the first time.
Just WoW❤
Was the month July?
@@xxlilly_playsxxkiz9980 I don't actually remember, but it was hot as hell.
So maybe💁🏽♀️
Freddie Mercury, in my opinion, is why "Another One Bites The Dust" was such a massive hit. Freddie is my all-time favorite rock artist. He somehow was able to inhabit the music he sang. Freddie was a powerful singer with an extraordinary ability to phrase the lyrics and enhance every song he performed. There has never been a singer like Freddie Mercury, and I doubt there ever will be again. I consider myself lucky to have witnessed his greatness, and I mourn his loss to this day.
My best memory is Weird Al’s, Another One Rides the Bus
ABTD was the first Queen song I discovered and is still my fav. It has a disco beat but IMO it always sounded more like funk than disco.
It sounds so funky that I sometimes forget it’s disco lol
I often talk about rewriting songs with my Rocky Horror friends in the 90s, this one is no exception. I spent a four-day weekend helping a friend clean her garage. While the area did get clean and organized I think we spent more time writing lyrics to "Another One Fights the Dust".
I love Queen, even though I was late to the party, getting into the band after Freddy's passing. Honestly, it was the tribute concert that opened my eyes. Before that, before high school, I was listening to anything my parents were. Oldies station with my dad and adult contemporary with my mom.
Love that!
Oooh, I want to see the lyrics to Another One Fights the Dust! 😂
I always loved the stripped back sound of this song. It’s like a dance with Deacon’s guitar and Freddie’s unbelievable voice. They combine in such a clean, driving sound that has an edge to it, it’s more powerful than Good Times. Freddie…how totally blessed were we to have had him in this world.
Keeping it simple was the right move.
That is a great way to describe it. It makes me think of the Reverend Utah's Smith song I've Got Two Wings, and early 80s House Music songs such Work It To the Bone.
That song sounded like a black guy sang it when I was a little kid - I thought a black R&B Motown band sang it
Testament to Freddy mercury’s vocal genius !
Amen!
That’s how you know Freddie was built with talent.
We had a killer drill corps routine to this song, the second time I talked about that today. James Kottack played drums for us. R.I.P.
RIP. I heard. So sad.
Wow.
I had the 45 of "Another One Bites the Dust" And my favorite Queen song was the one on the B-side! "Don't Try Suicide"... I loved that song and wish you would have mentioned it!
Sorry. Will do it in a future ep
A great song.
Deaky was quiet, hated confrontation, but he was vicious when he had to stand up to those three, to the point that Freddie, Roger, and Brian feared him to some degree because he managed the band finances. He watched the books and bank accounts like a hawk. Deaky got them out of that Trident deal when he tried to buy a house and couldn't. They were leary that he could reverse those fortunes, and they were right. So when Jackson entered the picture, this dynamic came to a head because he was a threat. Deaky was the sole songwriter. If Queen refused to release AOBTD as the 4th single, they were going to lose a mountain of money to a Jackson cover ... except John Deacon! 😏
When played backwards, "Another One Bites The Dust" sounds a lot like *_"Tsud Eht Setib Eno Rehtona"_*
Yep!
Mr. Crowley would have ❤ed it...👹🤣🤣🤣
Tommy James would approve.
Love Queen. Freddie Mercury is one of the greatest lead singers of all-time. 1980 may have been Queen's biggest year. On the U.S. pop charts, they had 2 #1 songs during their career. Both of them were in 1980. They were "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" and today's featured song episode "Another One Bites The Dust". I'm happy to say that disco was very much alive in 1980 (The great disco era was from 1974-1981). Many rock acts were using a disco beat to great success (Pink Floyd did something similar with "Another Brick In The Wall"). Chic is one of the great disco groups who were very influential. You can hear their influence on "Another One Bites The Dust". Definitely one of my favorite Queen songs. Would love to see an interview with Nile Rodgers. While Chic didn't have major hits in the 1980's, Nile Rodgers did as a producer.
And can you believe they never hit #1 in any other years than 1980? Surprising..
Rolling Stones' "Miss You" and Rod Stewart's "Do You Think I'm Sexy" along with Queen's "dust" wall all hit #1 on the Billboard chart.
There is a myth that Roger Taylor hates this song. This is not true. He wasn’t crazy about it, it’s just he couldn’t believe it became a hit single. If you ever watched Taylor play this song live, he always gives Dust his all.
Very cool!
@@ProfessorofRock Thank you! This was a great video. Deacon also hates guitar solos in his songs. Lol

The sound at the beginning sounds like a piano played in reverse. It seemed like this was a signal to play this song in reverse. Just like the introduction to Van Halen's Running With The Devil.

Another one of John's compositions that is one of my favorites is "Need Your Loving Tonight". I think it's one of their more underrated songs and one I even had forgotten about until I heard it years later and remembered how much I liked it. It may be a little more simplistic than some of the other ones but it definitely rocks.

That is some freaky shit.
You can't go wrong with that bassline from Deacon. That guy's an underrated, talented, multi-instrumentalist musician
I was in junior high, learning to play bass when this classic came out. I learned it and still enjoy playing it today. Great tune, great band.
I think you should cover the show must go on which is very true especially for queen even though Freddie Mercury had to sing even though he had aids back in 1991 nuts I really like that song and it’s very appropriate for the surviving members of queen.
I love the bass on Papa was a rolling stone The Temptations or Jive Talking The Bee Gees
They turned that phrase into part of our lexicon. You see it at things like baseball games. Or more humorously, we used to sing it at bachelor parties.

A SICK riff? It sounds quite healthy to me. As a guy who has been chronically ill since 1978, that term really bugs me. Because to me, “SICK” implies NOT WELL. And I’ve been not well DAILY since 1978. But all this puts me in the mind of this line from a stand-up comic, talking about how unfair Western movies were to the Native Americans. The joke first appears in around 1967: “So many Indians bit the dust, there were teeth marks all over the desert!”
Yeah that one took awhile to get "used to". The same was the case for "stupid" in the 1990s. Somehow, however "bad" meaning really good or as in "cool" (an age old slang term for good, fine, decent, acceptable or otherwise along those lines) was never hard one to get. The one I hate the most however is "woke".
I played it backwards once. Paul is dead man miss him miss him.
Adam, I can't believe that you did not mention *Weird Al's* twist on *Another One Bites The Dust,* wherein *Weird Al* changed it to the _hilarious,_ *Another One Rides The Bus,* accompanied by his accordian! 😂
Easy to say "play backwards". )
How am I doing it without vinyl and vinyl player?... )
I'm not sure what you're asking/
@@ProfessorofRock.
There are some songs that actually have some messages there when you play them backwards. But today it's more complicated to do it without having a vinyl player...
Elementary.... elementary.... I use a DAW and music files. But I did manually turn the Purple Rain record backwards to hear the backward message on Little Nikki. @@davidrawzen8232
As a rocker in the 70s, Disco was "off limits". But there were 2 Disco songs that I liked, Knock on Wood and Another One Bites the Dust. I do have to acknowledge that when ever I do hear it, I cannot not sing Another One Rides the Bus. Weird Al struck again!
Weird Al strikes again! That's a great title for a movie!
Funny tidbit, the parents didn't get on the back masking thing where I grew up. They were more upset about the made up version some of the kids did saying another one bites the bust because they thought it was about sexual promiscuity 😂
One of Weird Al’s best.
Yup!!! @@xxlilly_playsxxkiz9980
Yes. Yes it is. Lol
Thx Prof. @@ProfessorofRock
John didn't think much of the song at first. He dismissed it as being just a song based on the cowboy phrase "bite the dust".
This song came out in the latter years of being a roller rink rat. I loved skating to it.
I’m only familiar with one queen album I’ve heard the hits before but the only album that I’ve heard from Queen is the game I remember listening to that album when I was at the Oregon school for the blind in Salem Oregon back in 2003 there was a turntable at my school it was great I would listen to lots of great vinyl records including tug of war by Sir Paul McCartney the game by queen and also I listen to hot space as well and she lost her two queen albums I’ve heard as far as original albums go. I love the song another one bites the dust and I love the backwards piano throughout its great the whole song is fantastic from John‘s funky baselines on the way to Freddie Mercury‘s amazing vocals wow no one seems to sing like that anymore don’t you agree professor?
This song, and "Body Language" from Hot Space (love the drumming on that one) were big departures from the Queen sound. Always seemed like Freddie and Deacy were in one camp in Queen and Brian and Roger in another. Could be wrong on that.
Ha! Never did realize this was a dico hit! I guess between all the protest riots we did , I really didn't know what cool tracks could be done with that kind of beat! All those bell bottom pants, bling and hairy chests distracted me from the promising adventure that could be had with a beat and bassline. Made up for that ignorance in the eighties loving bands like Chic, Cool and the Gang. Thanks Deacon, you got my respect!🙏
Best disco song ever!
...take a peek at me comment Rabby, the 'Disco' charts got shook up in 1980, and you'd be AMAZED to see who were the "Disco Divas" that week, when Queen peaked at #2 Disco..... ; )
What annoys me about the anti-Disco crowd is that they torn stuff up for much less then those they criticize those who did it over injustice. Trashing a baseball field and beating people up over music in the "land of the free" sounded so contradictory but yet affirming to the "freedom for me / not for thee" Sorry to rain on anybody's parade but this whole thing always strikes a nerve.
@@istankimjong-unbutcantstan3398 Easy there, it was 50 years ago, we've gotten over it. Time to move on and embrace Artificial Intel music! It'll be cheaper right?
This is one of those songs I forget is supposed to be disco because it rocks and it’s just so funky!
They must have been suing For the groove because that's three totally different bass licks how can you sue for the groove
Right?
I can see taking influence from Good Times but the bass lines don't sound alike IMO. Now a song called "Try It Out" by Gino Soccio made me think of both Good Times and Another One Bites The Dust as does Christmas Rappin' by Kurtis Blow.
Was thinking the same thing!
This is one of those songs that took over the world.
It was everywhere when I was 13 years old.
I bought the LP and couldn't stop playing the whole album,The Game.
It is still one of my favorite albums and Another One Bites The Dust is one of my favorite songs.
PS I think I Need Your Lovin Tonight was an underarted gem.
A lot of Macca's stuff with the Beatles
Rain
Come Together
I Saw Her Standing There
Love it!
Another great Deacon song was 'Spread your Wings' from 'News of the World.'
BBC recording is infectious.
I remember my bf at the time flying off the mechanical bull when this was playing😂Watching the views tick on up…excellent vid as usual💫
Much appreciated
I must have listened to that bass line a thousand times while simultaneously visiting the discotheques at night and never put two and two together. Queen made every sound their own ❤
I was in fifth grade when Another One Bites The Dust, was released. My 9 year old self loved it.
Back in the Saddle Again Naturally
Dont forget about Weird Al!!!!❤❤❤
There will never be another Freddy Mercury. In my honest opinion, the greatest vocalist of all time. It is more than just the way he sings. His range is otherworldly.
Unfortunately for me, I got into Queen after his death. Thanks to my parents that believed all rock music was evil, even before the whole panic in the 80's. I was beat up just for listening to the radio. Owning an album equaled having it broken over my head.
I will miss Freddy and regret never getting to see Queen live. I will never regret discovering this band. They opened up a whole world to me, called rock music. First album I owned was from Queen.
Thanks for telling your important sorry and I'm very sorry about all the unfair backlash you got. Freddie Mercury was indeed a major talent.
I always liked(and still do) Sheer Heart Attack and Night At The Opera. I just never associated Queen with Disco. Being a rocker, my take on it was " Disco Sucks"!
Thanks Professor!!
😎👍
Thanks!
I think Queen may have avenged Disco for many a Rocker who had to admit to liking that song. I remember having contempt for Menudo (the band) and was jamming out to a song on the radio I had never heard of. After it finished the DJ announced that it was by Menudo and I was all "THAT'S NOT FAIR. I LIKE THAT SONG". That also happened with Taylor Swift and Harry Styles who I were mad at. Taylor for that "We Are Never Getting Back Together" and Styles for acting like his association with his band never happened.
Music can be unifying and divisive.

Yeah, if we all liked the same stuff, we wouldn't have anything to talk about!!👍
Was there a disco song you would make an exception for?
Another One Rides The Bus - Weird Al 😄
I used to listen to this on my dad's 8-track as a kid. I really like "Dragon Attack" and "Don't Try Suicide" on "The Game" album.
Great record for sure!
That second song was on the b-side of ABTD on the 45..........
Both songs are great.
Love it.. keep rocking 🤘🤘🤘🤘.P.O.R
I will try!
It also provided the soundtrack to a commercial for Aiwa.
It was being played full blast on a car stereo by the driver of a hearse leading a funeral procession.
Best commercial ever made.
This is my favorite Queen song as well as one of my favorite songs of all-time!!
I agree. it's not as overplayed.
Not my favorite Queen tune, but definitely in my top ten!
Remember in grade school during our basketball games...great entrance music!😄
Would love to have you do an article on Radio Gaga...now THAT is my favorite Queen song, and there are many! 😊
Nice song but how in the hell does anything beat out Bohemian Rhapsody?
@@williamsanders2439
Nah, the black community knew about Freddie and Queen, way before Another One Bites The Dust.
Right on.
I never thought it was a black guy singing and don't think I would have had I never heard anything by Queen before.........
