Not to mention it’s incredibly rare that a vice president let alone one that is the current vice president gets the presidency through election. That out of all people who have served both president and vice president, only six including Biden himself again in the presidency through election. The Harris may be the front runner for the nomination if Biden does not run for a second term, it’s also very rare that vice presidents even get the nomination to run for president of their political party. Not including Joe Biden the last time it happened was in 2000

Biden had dropped out of the presidential race in September 1987 after quoting large sections of speeches from Neil Kinnock, the leader of the Labour Party at the time, without attribution. You can actually hear he jokes about it in his remarks with Reagan.

My God, it is truly sad how the old man has fallen since 1987. The years have not Been kind to him.
He has gone through a lot as a husband, father and as a public servant and we don't consider that when we insult him. We all go through problems in life, family loss to tragedy and most recently his son with drug addiction problems and criminal convictions awaiting sentencing. That would take a toll on any human being who is aware of his feelings for others.
