Bought a 67 Impala SS 4 speed 327, metallic blue, black leather interior bucket seats, w/factory am/fm radio & 8 track. For $75.00. A very sweet car! In "77" but at 21 with wife and new born son! Needed the $$$$$ and sold it, for a $150.00! Which I regretted everytime I see an Impala 327 SS! Should've sold the wife and bought a new set of tire for my SS instead..! As the old folk say! you just can never tell! This is a Beautiful Sweet Car! Thanks for video!

This is a gorgeous Bolero Red Impala SS. It's not a Z24 car, which had the "SS427" name and a special domed hood with a fake intake grille, but a standard Impala SS with the optional L36 427 engine.

Lou- FYI those white lights mounted adjacent to the impala's headlights are not turn signals. They are the optional (precursor to the 1968 side markers) marker lights that light up white when headlights are turned on. Pretty nice option for the impala's front façade.
We owned a 1967 Impala 2 door sport coupe that had the black dummy cannisters on either side of the headlights which was offered "standard" on the Impala trim. Wish they were white!

You gotta knock this off, that was so cool it almost gave me heart palpitations. My 67 Bel Air 283 didn't have those turn signals there, so you are right again it definitely wasn't an option.

    • @grand73am

Lou called them turn signals, but they are not. They are fender lamps...the owner called them running lamps, which is fine. They were a factory option on the Impala, and could probably be ordered for a BelAir too if so desired. They only lit up when the parking lights or headlights were turned on. They're not turn signals so they do not blink. Standard equipment would be black painted aluminum trim ornaments in their place. The turn signals are the rectangular orange lamps in the lower bumper. On a side note, the fender lamps came standard on the Caprice.

Custom deluxe seat belts as they were called were color keyed to the interior with the stainless buckles. Standard seat belts were black with a black plastic cover on the buckle. As far as the lamps on the leading edges of the fenders, they were part of the auxiliary lighting group. It included lamps in the trunk and under the hood, ash tray and glove compartment.

I bought a brand new 1967 Chevrolet SS427 that looked identical to this one, but it had very different emblems, and was a very special car, with special suspension components, including a special grill on the domed hood. This car is a very nice Impala SS with the optional 427 engine. It is not an SS427 car. Remember, in 67 - 70, there were Impala SS cars with various engines available as an option, but the 427 was not standard on the Impala SS, and the badges inside and out were very different. The SS427 was based on the Impala body, but it had no Impala emblems on it anywhere. It was an SS427 just as the Chevelle SS396, and came with the 427 engine, special suspension, special steering wheel, special hood and body trim, etc.

Yes, but this red Impala SS is certainly one of those nice cars you can be proud of. I still have a nice 74 Nova Coupe, but I wish I had had the foresight to keep many of the cars that I had. I am glad that folks like you are restoring and preserving the old muscle cars, and in a professional manner!

Had one of these in 71 while going to high school. It was red with black interior and it had the gauge package with the tach. It was a 4SP car and it also had the domed hood. It really didn't handle very well and it wasn't that fast but it did have a good sized back seat which was important to a 17 year old boy. The guy down the block needed a bigger car for his family so in trade, I got his 67 Chevelle L78 4SP and 400 bucks.

There were 2100 427 SS cars made with a special hood how many Impala Super Sport 427 cards were made. I own a 67 Impala Super Sport 427 matching numbers convertible. Loaded with every option power windows till climate control air-conditioning power seats factory AM/FM radio and the dash is a tac speedo meter and a clock, gas oil pressure temperature gauge are all separate. I would sure like to see the engine numbers. This is not a ss 427. If you wanted a 427 engine you would need to order a Z24 option not a ss with a 427 engine.

Must not have been able to find the correct hood. Look close. Its a 4 door Biscayne hood. The '67 427 SS had chrome louvres in the center. And look at the engine. Plain as the nose on your face. It's a Mexican rebuild. A quick spray job with common Chevy orange........popular trick used by used car salesmen.

Well Glen you sure don’t know much about ‘67 Chevys! This is a Impala SS with a 427 engine, not a 427SS! My husband has documentation for this engine with numbers matching and protecto plate. Engine paint is supposed to be orange, that’s how they came from the factory. Do some research before you dis someone’s hard work!

That's because it's not an SS427. That's why it doesn't have the domed hood with chrome center ormanment and special SS427 emblems. It's an Impala SS with the optional 427 engine. So, it has Impala SS emblems with the 427 turbo jet fender emblems. The hood is correct for an Impala SS, as well as any other 67 fullsize Chevrolet car, except the SS427's domed hood.

@@loucostabile the exterior badging is not consistent with any other 67 ss427 I have seen. 427 emblems on front of fenders unlike others, hood is missing the three piece attachment, Impala emblems on the exterior are there. ( No 67 ss427 I have ever seen has an Impala emblem anywhere on exterior) Other than the 427 emblems look of the car is more consistent with a SS396 Impala. It could still be real but appears to be missing original look. It's still a very nice car.

I Seen 427 Impala SS Back Then Went I Was A Young
And Most Didn't Have The SS Hood. Chevy Was Into Racing From 62 To 68 Just The Big Cars Nascar And Drag racing At The Time . So If Your Car Has The SS Hood And The Big 427 Bage On The Side Its Not A Family 427 SS Impala For The Street.....
