I see you logged into your staging site in order to work on it. My website doesn’t contain a login on it. Does WP require me to login to a different site in order to work on a staging snapshot?
@@wplearninglab Only part I'm not sure about is 4:11 "and now we're in the backend" I'm not sure how you get to the backend once staging site is deployed. I had to write / wp-admin to get there because I couldnt see a clickable way from the legacy staging sections . thanks!
Hey Bjorn, I have a question for you please? How do you let a client preview a local, staging site? Preferably without migrating to Live with password, or installing it in a temp subdomain? I'm a bit nervous messing with subdomains..! Is there a plugin for example that lets you do that? I have only used 'Forward' before, but it was a bit of a pain, since we had to be online at the same time..! How do you go about doing this kind of thing?
Thanks for the video I have some questions, could you please help me to understand those - 1. It can migrate changes only for back-end or files also? suppose I changes something in custom templates, .css files and something in custom plugin and then I click ''Deploy Staging to Live' so files would be overwrite for live site or not? 2. Once I will create a staging site, it will automatically create a new Database and I can see this inside phpmyadmin right?
Ok, so what if I create the "Staging" site, make changes and edits but in the end mess it (Staging site) all up. I am able to discard or just remove the staging site and not deploy it back over to the live site?
Yes, you can discard the staging site by clicking the button to create a new one. That will take a current snapshot of your live site and make a new staging site.
Hey Jeff, The free one I use for local development is Local by Flywheel. I have a tutorial for it here: th-cam.com/video/nVi13qWdcvE/w-d-xo.html I hope that helps and thanks for watching!
Hey, your videos not downloadable on youtube. I have IDM to download youtube videos. But IDM not supporting in your videos. Pls check it out. Any suggestion on the same?
Hi Dinesh, TH-cam doesn't give creators settings to allow video downloads. Last year TH-cam made it against their terms of service to download videos, so most plugins turned that ability off.
Yes, In membership website we need to log in and register but If we want to make a simple website where the user can log in and register and that is not a membership website.
By default WordPress offers a register and login function. But there is no way to restrict access to content with that method. The same login form at wp-login.php can be used for all user roles to login. And below that login form you should see a "Register" link that takes you to the registration form. If you can see it then you need to "allow registrations" in the settings...
Super helpful. Thank you! Happy I got to be this video's 100th thumbs up.

So every time i want to have a day of testing i need to get a temp api key from subscription theme? Useless.
Yep, that’s correct. That’s mostly the theme dev’s licensing protocols fault. It’s definitely not ideal.

No, I want you to make a tutorial for the register and login using the best plugin and What have used on this website?
Hi Rahul, I think you mean a membership site, correct?
