    • @CTBLiew
      @CTBLiew  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Slight difference. No need to turn the tank upside down. R22 is gas form. Good point to also check leakage using bubble test. So far the unit is working fine. It was a quick fix around 7:45pm. Didn’t have time to perform bubble test after topping up. Thanks for pointing it out. I will normally perform routine check once every six months during summer break.

      @@CTBLiew wow... You are expert! 🤠 I planned to grab those small size R22 (800g bottle) for the first try. Do you encourage me to get the smaller size one? It depends how many ac do you have at home. I did lots of TH-cam research before DIY. As usual, safety first. Be sure you have personal protective equipment like gloves, test pen, goggles. Don’t get injured. Double check if electricity is totally off. Some old unit require Allen key to release the check valve. I made two videos about indoor unit. Made the second very recent only. Try look through from video list.

      The gas pressure will be high when the air filter is clogged. 130-140psi should be fine as long as it runs steadily when it is new. The fluid is also used for the compressor as lubricant as well as coolant. That’s why it needs to be top up from time to time.

    • @CTBLiew

    • @CTBLiew
      @CTBLiew  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Shut close all the door and windows. Connect the gauge as shown. Purge the air in the tube then top up. The compressor will have suction pressure only after three minutes it has been turned on. The outdoor fan starts is the signal. But don’t need to top up immediately. Wait for the outdoor fan to spin at normalized speed only start to read the gauge. Top up only if necessary. Look for these tell sign again from the video to have a better idea.

    The charging you did was in the vapour (gas) line, so why did you turn the pink r410a bottle upside down? This would mean liquid going in to the vapour line and damaging the compressor.
    The bottle should be upright so hence gas charging going in to vapour line.

    • @CTBLiew
      @CTBLiew  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The R410a variant is a mixture of different chemical blend in a specific ratio. Charging it with liquid (inverted bottle) helps maintain the ratio better than in gas state. Charging in liquid state is better in maintaining the life span of compressor. Open the valve slowly to allow liquid to be siphon out changing into vapor state once leaving the pink bottle. Turn open and close bit by bit until it reached 130psi and stable. It would normally takes roughly half an hour work.
