I've grown up in the same culture as yourself and always had an interest in learning how to & master bengali curries and cooking in general. It was always a passion but I wasn't taught growing up. I always use to bother my mum to teach me but she never had the patience in the kitchen and expected me to learn whilst she did the cooking. The problem with this is I could not learn in that way unless I had done it myself. This did not go with the way I learnt best and remember. I just want to say thank you so much Latif bhaiya for releasing these videos and having so much patience and showing every step without skipping steps. I have finally found a way to cook without help other than using these videos to guide me. These videos are godsend! You teach in the best way possible and definitely have inspired me cook bengali and general dishes! Jazak'allah khair

Hi Latif, this recepie is out of this world! The best chicken tikka I’ve ever tasted! I just wanted to say that all your recepies are absolutely beautiful. I have tried for many years to cook similar dishes following recepies from other chefs and honestly they haven’t got a patch on yours. I’ve made 4 of your dishes so far and my husband who is Pakistani says they have been better than anything he’s tasted in any restaurant. Don’t stop what your doing your amazing! Please could you show us how to marinade lamb chops for the BBQ? Thanks Latif 😊

Made this last night on an outdoor gas grill. Amazing. The sizzling went over quite well and the food even better. I also made your Butter Chicken (outdoor grilled vs pan fried) and also made Bangain Bharta, Lamb Vindaloo, with Gobi 65 and Ground Lamb Sheek Kebabs to start, all the chutnes (mango, mint, tamarind, onion relish) and Raita, Basmatic Pilaf and ended with Vanilla Cognac Cardamom Creme Brulle with the brulle made out of cardamom infused sugar. Needles to say quite the feast, I had your video(s) up for a good part of the two days of prep. Thanks again.

I fully understand, I'm a classically trained chef.
But short cuts are great for home cooks.
Too many people nowadays buy pre made complete meals.
Anything that inspires a person to try, is a massive plus from me.
Have a think about the economics,
Joe Soap meets Jane Doe both aged 25 and a child they've left home, bills to pay and a young child to bring up.
Neither of them feel they can cook for the other.
Go to Tesco's and buy 15 different spices costing £20 ish in total, or a couple of PATAK jars for £5 ish.
My point is, if it gets people cooking at home then it is good thing.

I always have a bit tandoori and Tika paste knocking around, and some red food colouring. It adds that takeaway feel.
Yeah, sometimes I’ll make a nice garlic/chilli/ginger chicken and rice, with low salt and oil, other times I’ll make a bright red ghee soaked salty takeout meal for a treat. :)
This is British India restaurant style cooking, not artisan Indian street food for London hipsters. Both are great, but sometimes you just want a rich, sweet creamy bright red Tika Masala

SS P I’d be happy if i was a 1/10th as good as him so no I’m not but i try my best to replicate his (and others) dishes. Then i post my videos to show others (like me) that someone with virtually zero skills in the kitchen CAN make good curry.

you dont need pataks paste trust me the tikka taste will be better without it. Add a tsp of chat masala powder with the rest of the spices and see what a difference it will make.

I'm watching this, mouth gaping, eyes wide open, I can smell it in my head, can almost taste it ... This is torture, I can't bear it any more - where is your restaurant? I so hope you're in London, I've got to try your cooking, lockdown or no lockdown.

Good excuse to pick up the other 30 and stock the pantry! Then make a point of doing a reverse recipe search on what to do with those ingredients for other recipes... great way to expand your personal recipe catalog!

I really love your your recipes, and your videos are the best on TH-cam because they really show the stages and the quantities of the spices.. I think we would be eating everyday at your restaurant if we lived nearby! Sadly i am in deepect france.... So a bit too far too go!
Being in France, where i am getting hold of unusual ingredients is not easy, particularly any of the Pataks products, so if you could mention alternative spice combinations, that would be great. We can't even get Colemans mustard! I stock up once a year when i visit the UK... But it only goes so far. You cannot beat a ham sandwich or a bacon butty with Colemans mustard!
