Yes I am not sure thus variety would survive in the dramatic temperature changes of the Philippines. You maybe able to grow in a container so you can control the temperature putting it in shelter in the colder months or shade in the hotter ones? Have you looked at the Palawan Cherry? Hope this helps 👍
Looking up at our 5m tree I wish we had a 'flat' one as well lol There are quite a lot of cherries on your tree, I'm impressed when you look at the size.
Hey Corey yes being in other gardens really helped me know what works practically when growing so its always good to plan and not rush creating a garden. 👍 Thank you it does really well in that spot, it gets a good amount of sun and the fence keeps it sheltered from the wind 😁👍
Hey Life's Adventures thanks for the comment that's great to hear cherries are a fantastic addition to any garden and provide food year after year hope you have a good harvest 😁👍
Is the Semi Screened Structure around your Stella Cherry, to keep the Birds off ? Do you use a Front Screen / or Net too ? Just bought some Containers Stone Fruit Trees : Cherry, Plum, Nectarine and Peach. Will the latter two need to be grown in a Greenhouse all Season. Or just through Autumn Winter / early Spring. Am in South East Scotland. Can get cold Easterly Winds. 🤭 Hope you gave a Stone Fruit Tree Video sometime re How to best Position, Grow, Prune, Care for for best Cropping. Cheers. 😎
Hello mmb, yes it is I have a front screen as well so I can take if off to prune pick and let the pollinators in then when the cherries are growing I put it on to keep them protected (also have found mice to be an issue hence why it's metal mesh). Great to hear yes with the Scottish climate definitely need to protect those more delicate stoned fruit trees from the cold weather but I imagine over the years they will become a bit more hardy so you could reduce the amount of greenhouse time. Absolutely there are so many future videos I want to do and have planned 😁👍
Hello yes there are lots of tips and methods to do so it's hard to compose all of it into a comment but here are a few basic bits. With a cherry you want to prune them when it is warm weather to prevent bacterial infections as they are very prone to get them. Doesn't need as precise prune as an apple tree but still want to get rid of the dead, dieing, diseased and rubbing branches and get it to a good structural shape. With a grape you want to create a main central structure to grow in the shape you want training new shoots in that direction and cut off the side shoots you don't want. If you look at a vineyard when they prune they are left with a small thick fan structure as they are such vigorous growers it will put it all back on next year. I will definitely do a in depth video on both these topics in the future 😁👍
I had loads but the birds had them ... Again. Oh well, if that makes the happy, meanwhile on the plum tree the branches are nearly snapping with the weight of fruit, apart from wasps nothing wants them \o/
Hey Guy it can be very frustrating you have a good outlook on it. That is odd do you know what type of plum? I do find birds really like to find and eat red fruit be it cherries, strawberries, raspberries, red currents etc but when it comes to darker fruit doesn't disappear nearly as fast. Maybe they are just full up from all the red fruit lol 👍
Hey Scotty ah no way they can certainly be a pain I have found a lot on broad beans (hence the name black bean aphid or blackfly) this year with the hot weather the breed like mad. Best thing is a soapy mixture in a spray bottle and that will kill them if you spray it onto them directly as they breath through their backs so it suffocates them. Just remember to check and spray under leaves if needed as they are good at hiding or follow the ants that protect them, they mainly are on the tips of the plant. 👍
Hey James I use a thick layer of composted mulch at the base of my tree every autumn to help with soil temperature over the winter months and it feeds it during the spring ready for fruit production. Hope this helps 😁👍
"Flat" trees😍 such a great idea
Hey Imre thanks for the comment its great it saves space and makes harvesting easy! 😁👍
Great job. Like the “pinch” and separate the ripe and pit before freezing.
Hey Eugene thanks for your comment glad you found this helpful 😁👍

Hey Crizzle thanks its a really beautiful productive tree! 😁👍
@@gardenerstale yes it is ,its so nice
You can grow any cherry tree in this way by training the branches when it's younger if you have the space for it give it a go 😊👍
@@gardenerstale i don't think so if it cn grow here in Philippines ,i don't see any cherry tree here

@@gardenerstale Thanks 🙏 Looking forward to the video 👍
trying to figure out how they pollinated themselves do you have other trees
Hello Nirvaan I do have lots of other fruit trees nearby 👍

When a new video?😊
Hey animallover thanks for the comment very soon hopefully this Friday on rootball tree planting 😁👍
Do you have problems with black aphids on the leaves, I have thousands of them and I’m freaking out 😂

Do you use any feed/fertiliser?

Thanks for the support 👍
How old is your cherry tree?
Hey Bee I have had it for about 4 years and was about 5ft when I purchased it 👍
