For anyone who doesn't have a MicroSD to USB adapter, you can also put it in your phone and then plug your phone into your computer with the charging cable to transfer the files.
@EK tech on another hand, if you can just buy a microsd to USB adapter... do it. If you know how to install drives into your pc, for 18-30$ you can buy a card reader that has micro SD in it as well, the 30$’s ones will also give you a crap load more USB ports to use on top of that
You don't even need a computer. I installed the ysmenu, loaded the games and emulators all from a Galaxy s10 lite. You don't need Zarchiver though. Good video!

Damn, I'm old! The ColecoVision (Coh-lee-ko) is a video game console that was only around for a few short years in the early 80's. It was a neat system, for it's time.
Man, I've been trying for WEEKS to get emulation running on my 2DS with r4 card. Watched a ton of vids and tried a lot of emulators but none of them seemed to work right, if at all. I came to the conclusion that trying to emulate other consoles on the 3DS (besides ds) is pretty much a matter of getting really lucky You have to have the right programs, hardware and settings to make each game at least decently playable, and they all seem to have different "ideal" settings". I'm sorry for just coming and vent off in the comments section of your video, but I guess this could serve as an advice to those who want to try it.

I own a 3ds with custom hardware, I even had games from the NEO GEO, SNES, Gba and almost psx (just Castlevania SOFT). There was a channel in spanish that did a lot of tutorials gor this but he got blocked due to copyright strikes. The 3ds is capable of many things and even more with a New 3ds/2ds.
You should do a video on R4 cards vs Homebrew and the difference between the two there's not a lot of content out there on it and I'm kind of curious to if you have an R4 card then why do you need to Homebrew what the advantage is home brewing and having an R4 card or vice versa.
I added the Game Gear/Master System one but when I access it, it has a black top screen and a blue lower screen that says "Touch Screen or press L + R for menu" and I think it freezes as nothing works. I tried several other emulators and none worked foe the games. Anything I'm doing wrong? The R4 is a 482 Ds games in 1 cart and I'm using a DS Lite.
I can't even see the emulators folder in my boot screen. Does this require custom firmware to run? Everything is on the root, and I am using an R4 sdhc Gold pro.
Exactly how are you structuring your file system? Try putting your emulators folder in the same space as your NDS games and let me know if that works Another thing: make sure you open the settings menu on your r4 card and set it to show all extensions not just .nds, not sure if this will help

I can get the snes emulator to start up but when I do I just see a black screen with the A button at the bottom, clicking it takes me to a few options, one of which is to load a rom but when I click it I just get taken to another black screen with the A button and nothing showing up.

You should be able to copy & paste your save files from your pc Retroarch save folder to your Vita's sd card. Also, Retroarch can directly download cheat files. It's easy to find in the main menu.
It's missing NitroGrafx, the PC engine/TurboGrafx-16/CD emulator, that said though, there was a Master System emulator by the same creator, I forgot its name, but when you had both it and NitroGrafx on the same SD card they'd corrupt your SD card and you'd have to format it and lose everything, it might have been S8DS, which is included in the pack, but I'm not sure... Anyway, if you want PCE emulation on your DS you better be careful about that SMS/GG emulator! Make backups of your Flash Cart's SD card often! I have a DStwo btw, so it might work differently on different flash carts... Or maybe it was just my SD card that was bad? I don't know, I don't think I tried out any different cards so I can't confirm... Also, if you're using a 3DS you should only really bother with the GBC emulator from this pack, for some reason the 3DS doesn't have any good GBC emulators (not the old 3DS at least) even the 3DS version of GameYob runs worse than the DS version somehow... Maybe Apple II, ColecoVision, Neo Geo and ZX Spectrum are also worth a shot? I haven't tried any of those systems on either the DS or 3DS, but otherwise, everything from this pack has 3DS versions with significantly better performance (as you'd expect)

Hey James, Thanks for your video. I want to play the older pokemon GBA games, but buying them anno 2021 costs around 600 euro's to get a bunch of them. This is one of the best solutions i have found so far, to just put into my oldschool NDS Lite. However, a neurotic person like myself, am wondering, if it is possible to create folders inside your created 'roms' folder. For example to have a 'Roms' folder at the root of the R4 card, but then have a 'GBA Roms' and 'NDS Roms' folder inside of it. Is that possible? or will it cause errors? Thanks!
@@amristar736 gbaemu4ds just doesn't work properly. There are other emulators that only dstwo can run that's why I say dstwo is better. The extra processor allows it to run more

I am gonna get paid for my summer job this week. And I want to bought a console. These are my 2 options:ds or ps3. Which one is a better option for hacking and using?(it takes me a lot of time to get money for consoles so I need something to be hackable and playable for 2-3 months.)
Personally I would go for the ps3 (i have both and lots of other stuff). all ps3's are in some way hackable at least to the stage you can play emulators (retroarch) on it. the ps3 is way faster. for on-the-go I would opt for a psp or vita (have both) all pretty hackable.

I do not recomend any r4 cards if you are going to play games other than DS games. Those r4 cards are literally DS cartridges so it plays DS games normally, and it plays other console games horribly. A solution for this is to download homebrew and convert your roms into cia files.

That is about to change drastically, though. When gbarunner2 get further we might be seeing wireless link cable and sleep function, according to the dev. Still I'm not sure it will ever have save states so that might be a deal breaker.
@@johnienyc80 unfortunely the injector don't have a cheat , fast forward ( for anyone who play gba emulator for android , this not gonna happen haha) and no save state but it feel like playing gba cartridge, so its a pro and cons situation, because its fast as original cartridge.

Yeah I'm real bummed out the company stopped making them quite a while back. I've owned two of them and they were the best flashcarts by a mile. Downside is the durability. I think the added cpu they have wears down hard, cause the two I've owned I kept in my ds just fine but they both gave out after a year. Now I just use a basic r4 gold 3ds, gets the job done but it's not nearly as cool, and lacks a bunch of features unique to the DSTWO.
Atari 2600 and Turbografx 16 run pretty well on DSL Sadly, Emulation on my DS Lite is pretty poor. GBA and SNES games aren't even worth it. It's it just me? How about you guys?

R4 cards come with a USB microsd addaptor and most Micro SDs come with SD adaptors

the correct term is Custom Firmware. Homebrew is custom code.

CFW allows you to playa 3ds games on a 3ds
but if you only got a normal ds/dsi, R4 is better

R4 should run as is without custom firmware. Just like it does with the ds lite.

There's literally no difference according to the manufacturers. But you'll need an R4i for a DSi. And a normal R4 for a DS.

yes it is possible i do it on my dsi but it should work on ds lite as it also works on my of ds
The gba emulator is confusing and i cant get it to run rom hacks or anything like that.
Sometimes if the file size is larger than a normal game of that system the emulator dosen't run it

Can you set it to where it plays off of the bottom screen and if so how do you do it? Is for a gameboy macro.
Look for gameboy macro screen swap. You can then switch with an added button from top screen to bottom screen on your only bottom screen :)

I only emulate gb and gbc on my ds lite, the psp is way better for emulating gba.
That is about to change drastically, though. When gbarunner2 get further we might be seeing wireless link cable and sleep function, according to the dev.
Still I'm not sure it will ever have save states so that might be a deal breaker.
I run play all my GBA games on my Original 2ds as cia files and they play perfectly
I run all of these emulators on my LDK system.
@@johnienyc80 unfortunely the injector don't have a cheat , fast forward ( for anyone who play gba emulator for android , this not gonna happen haha) and no save state but it feel like playing gba cartridge, so its a pro and cons situation, because its fast as original cartridge.
Kim Sang yeah I do miss having save states but it runs so smooth. I didn’t realize how much I used save states til now
I come from your other video on the gba emulator how can i save my gamefiles because even if fire red is playable if i shutdown the console after saving the game it doesn't save data

I have lag in a nds ROM on my Nintendo dsi XL. I am using an R4 card. Is it possible to put a secondary nds emulator on the Nintendo to try the game on another emulator because if I emulate the game on my pc it doesn't lag. Are there any nds emulators or suggestions?

Yeah I'm real bummed out the company stopped making them quite a while back. I've owned two of them and they were the best flashcarts by a mile.
Downside is the durability. I think the added cpu they have wears down hard, cause the two I've owned I kept in my ds just fine but they both gave out after a year. Now I just use a basic r4 gold 3ds, gets the job done but it's not nearly as cool, and lacks a bunch of features unique to the DSTWO.
