Thank you for making this video!!! Instead of trying to figure out on my own how to replace the battery, I went straight to TH-cam. 5 mins and the batteries were replaced!
You are a godsend. Thank you so much for making this video and teaching us. Now my heat is back on and I don’t need to wait hours in the freezing cold waiting for help. THANK YOU🙏🏼💗
This was awesome!! Before seeing this, I watched another TH-cam vid that instructed me to pull on it or lift-and-pull and so on. It said nothing about the little battery pack that I need to push down on and move out to the side. I came SO CLOSE to breaking the unit, had I not seen this video. So thank you times TEN!!
The thermostat thanks you! It was so very close to having the homeowner rip it off the wall and having to patch the angry hole left behind while being replaced.
Thank you so much. I was actually wiggling it around and was afraid of breaking it. Figured I'd check You Tube, and there you were. Perfection. Battery change. Thank you for taking the time to post the video.
Thank you for this! Of course when I changed the batteries there was still no power. Corrosion on the contacts... But it came off with steel wool. Hurray!
Thank you, thank you! I almost ripped the complete cover out of the wall! I called honey well and they couldn’t answer. I was just about to take a knife and try to pry it open!
Thank you! I was trying to press and pull just like you said some people might try. I sit even have that exact model but there was a hidden battery compartment within the press button
Thank you times 100. 👍 I thought the dementia was setting in.😵💫yes, I would have ended snapping the cover. My wife was saying: ‘maybe there is a TH-cam video on….’. I will now make her dinner.
Thank you for the short video. And if you really wanted to make it short short short you could have said this in 10 seconds. Imagine a 10 second how to video....but still I'm grateful for this. Be well!
Which model is this? I have the same one and need to remove the cover but have no idea how to do it and don't want to break it. I think I installed it 20 years ago.
Hi, I don't know which model it was because this was an office that I earned at work at our old location before the company moved. Somebody long ago installed it before my time. I ended up figuring out how to remove the battery without having to remove the cover. I agree that breaking it would have been a risk if I had not noticed the word Press at the top right corner.
Update: Somebody else said this is a RTH6360D series battery compartment. The manual for this model is at www.honeywellstore.com/store/images/pdf/rth6360d-5-2-programmable-thermostat-manual.pdf.
I did just as you showed me and it worked fine, but then I checked to see if the batteries were bad and my tested showed they were strong. It must have a timer in the thermostat that directs you to change them over a certain period of time whether good or bad.
Thank you so much for this video. It saved me an unknown amount of frustration and aggravation.
This video just saved me 2 hours of agro... and likely a broken thermostat. You sir, make the world better.
🤣🤣I concur...saved me hours

Yes you did help me with how to put new batteries in, thank you so much..!

My thermostat exactly. Thanks. I would have broken it thinking the cover popped off.
Thank you times 100. 👍 I thought the dementia was setting in.😵💫yes, I would have ended snapping the cover. My wife was saying: ‘maybe there is a TH-cam video on….’. I will now make her dinner.
Thank you! I almost called a heating company to look at my furnace at a rate of $185/hr.

Thank you!!! I couldn’t figure it out.

You made it so easy. Thank you so much.
You saved me much agony
but how do you remove the thermostat itself, in order to install a nest?
