  • Tips for cutting tree stumps - Echo CS680. Quick demonstration of how I cut tree stumps. The wedges are the key. If it's a bigger stump they make all the difference. I'll link below to some cheap ones.

This is underated, as a stump grinder having to cut stumps down low this was well executed

Great job thanks for sharing. I fell into the tree felling business by accident after cutting down an elderly neighbor's tree.

Excellent show. One piece of advice, adjust the H lift towards a leaner mixture to make the chainsaw more powerful.

I plunge the saw tip through the center and then cut both directions leaving a little at the edge. Then cut from the outside. That greatly reduces pinching but it’s hard on the saw to cut a stump flush no matter how you do it.

What made you choose the 680 over the 620 or 7310? I need to purchase a big saw for my business. Trying to decide on which of the 3 I mentioned above to govwith.

Cut with the top side of the bar and the sawdust will support the stump and it won't collapse on your saw........if I was milling I would war an 80 cc or bigger saw-----milling is a lot of work for any saw ......think of longevity....

Most of us don't have 27 inch saws, would've been good if you could have cut the stump the hard way with a much smaller saw...good tips though 👍

If you have access to water or a garden hose you should hose all the dirt off to save the chain

Have you compared this saw with others in a similar cc range? Just looking at this saw for milling.

I haven’t, sorry. If you’re milling I assume you’ll use a 24” bar? That’s some tough cutting but I’d say it should be plenty of power. Not sure how it would compare to a Stihl or Husky.

I think that’s an axe handle.
