ENSEMBLE FOR DIFFERENT NEW MUSIC ("Ansambl za drugu novu muzku") is an all-keyboard ensemble, consisting of 6 keyboards (or pianos) performed by 10 pianists.
The Ensemble gave its first concert on December 7, 1977 at the Students' Cultural Centre in Belgrade. The program consisted of minimalist pieces by Miloš Raičković, including his Permutations for 3 pianos, 18-hands. Ensemble soon started performing music by other Belgrade composers, Katarina Miljković, Miroslav Savić, Miodrag Lazarov, Milimir Drasković, Vladimir Tosić, Marijan Šijanec, and others. With the support of Miroslav Savić, the music director at the Students' Cultural Centre at that time, Ensemble gave concerts across Yugoslavia as well as in Hungary, Austria and Italy. It also performed Raičković's works at the Music Biennale Zagreb in 1979. The Ensemble has recorded for Radio and TV, and has released LPs with works by Robert Moran and several Belgrade composers. After a period of inactivity, Ensemble was revived in 2017. A concert, marking the 40th anniversary from their first concert, was held at the Students' Cultural Centre in Belgrade. A very enthusiastic reception by the audience gave the Ensemble new energy to continue performing. Ensemble for Different New Music is active again, connecting some of the original members with the musicians of the new generations. Among it's recent performances is the critically acclaimed concert at the 11. International Minimal Music Festival in Kassel, Germany. Ensemble's current repertory includes three full-evening programs: Serbian Minimalists, European Minimalists, and "Permutations" by Milos Raickovich.
The current members of the Ensemble for Different New Music are: Miroslav Savić, Nada Kolundžija, Branka Parlić, Lidija Stanković, Dragoljub Ilić, Nataša Penezić, Katarina Radovanović, Andrej Negić, Dimitrije Beljanski, Milena Petrović, and Miloš Raičković (conductor).
