ehh, l feel like in a format like these you lose people's first reaction and original thought-process,, it's easy to say "l expected x and y" in postcom when you didnt actually thought about x and y in the heat of the moment during the battle. (not accussing anyone of lying, but if you post-record after a day or 2 you could misremember/forget what your exact thought-process was at the time right.) Also l feel like sometimes the tone/mood of the voice can give away whether it's a win or a loss,, it's hard to stay upbeat/impartial when you know damn well that you made some misplays and you're gonna lose the battle for them. Also l feel more suspense during a live-com compared to a post-com battle, but that might just be personal preference.
Again, no shade towards haydunn or anyone in particular, l just feel like these things are pretty significant drawbacks to post-com. Though l agree that postcom has the advantages of being more concise and structured, and Hayden is way more comfortable with post-com since most of his content is post-com, so it's really no problem if he decides to do post-com for the rest of the season, l just wanted to share some arguments for the other side of the debate :]

The Chesto was lowkey a big clutch too. It was for Darkrai as you say but damn… instrumental in setting up their win. Love these matches though.

Kinda crazy that your opponent was able to draft 3 big threats in Ogrepon, Iron Bundle, and Great Tusk.
I’m sure he had the option to take one of the three, but opted for weaker Pokémon. I mean Darkrai is strong but it’s not these new mons.
some of the stuff that gets passed in draft is absolutely wild.

It was unfortunate about the ChestoBerry, but l guess it does make sense that people might overprep against sleep due to your darkrai, though in this case idk if you could really expect specifically tinkaton to run it since it wouldnt outspeed darkrai and thus wouldnt be a switch-in and if you wait to hard-switch you mightve already put something else to sleep thus making chesto on tinka redundant.
At 11:37, l wonder if it wouldve been a good mid-ground play to switch-in your slowking-G here. The obvious switches are gyara and glisc, so tusk would never go for a ground move. Tusk either goes for supercellslam or icespinner, either of with slowkingG takes with ease. You'd still need to switch again afterwards to either gliscor or gyara, but it lets you scout what your opponent would do without any drawbacks since regenerator would heal you back up to full (barring a crit)

To be fair, your opponent had a lot of moves I didn't think they got like quick attack for orgerpon and supercell slam for great tusk. Really unexpected. I wish you luck in next week's battle!

Tough loss, I know it’s a risk but I think knowing they would either go ice move or electric move when you had in goodra, you should have pulsed. They are unlikely to click quake as it only punishes one of the 3 while it’s useless to the other too, and the opponent was ahead so they couldn’t afford the passive play and give up moment when the odds weren’t good.
Love your content and was so excited to see you back in the draft format, really hope to see some more aggressive plays in the future.

@@Haydunn I don’t think you give yourself enough credit you’re a good battler, but I bet if you reach out to Emvee or other coaches they will help you out. I struggled a lot with drafting in league too.

Hey Haydunn! I am a new subscriber and am so excited for this draft season. I just wanted to contribute my thoughts. I’m really hopeful you can get live commentary going for the next battle. Post just isn’t the same. We don’t get genuine reactions or live thought processes. You have already reflected on the match and your decisions so we don’t really get that sense of “playing with you” it’s like watching a recap, which to me personally is much less exciting. Others may disagree. Just my two cents.
