- Learn how to use Secondary Dominant Chords with Music Theory and a breakdown of “The Sound of Music” masterpiece, Do Re Mi. Demonstrated on the Piano with this specific song, however, can be applied to a variety of songs with any harmonic instrument. Hi Jason, thank you for the informative lessons, really appreciated. I just have a question regarding the secondary dominants. For C min can we use Gmin/Gmin7 as a dominant resolving to the chord C min. Please explain.

Yes. You could also use Gmin7. But G7 sounds like a stronger resolution
