  • Not wanting to spend weeks sitting around waiting for weather to clear up in El Chalten, Beau Skalley and I made the voyage to Piedra Parada: a sport climbing venue in the middle of nowhere in the deserts of Argentina with huge 2000' walls and stellar, varied climbing. As all adventures, we slept in the bushes behind bus terminals, had idyllic river camping, chased brazen cows from camp, climbed route after stellar mega-sport route and worked on perfecting our culinary Jet Boil skills. Highly recommend spending a week or two here if weather is iffy in the Torres!
[Note: I'm still learning to shoot horizontally with my phone/gopro, so apologies for the graininess of some of the clips at the beginning!]

I stumbled across your profile and I love your videos! Gives me nostalgia of the time I first discovered climbing videos when I was just starting in the sport.

So glad! I just started making these because I realized I really enjoy having these in my archive to rewatch later (instead of just posting on instagram or other social media where the videos disappear with time).

Hey Natalie, loved your vid! Would you mind sharing your pack list? My girlfriend and I are planning a long south America trip next year and struggling to see how to manage all the necessary climbing/camping gear!

I don’t have a list! My climbing partner and I laid all the gear out and then started removing stuff that wouldn’t fit. Haul bags are your friend for packing

It’s a chinchallon! They’re wild rabbit-marmot-chinchilla hybrid rodent things that live in South America. Super cute

Looool yeah, but when you travel to Patagonia and bring ice climbing boots, approach boots, trail runners, climbing shoes, two pairs of crampons… you start making sacrifices in performance 😂
