Yes me too. There was so much going on back then with the Nemesis and Gloomy wood and the Ghost train. Classics. I am not as impressed with the theme on the reborn Nemesis. I think the creature looks less impressive with just one eye, and I miss the waterfalls and pools that had the red food colour dye to make them look like Blood. The way the queue line wound down into the depths to take you closer to the monster before boarding the ride. The new queue is way too long and it looks ugly with all that fencing where it used to be just hills and rocks and trees. It is all far more spread out a sprawling with some naff looking theme extras like a bus half into the pit. What would a bus be doing where there is no roads etc? I am glad its still there and has had all new track to keep it going as its a truly fantastic ride, I just think all the hype over the retheme is a bit much and it still looks a bit half finished. It needs more planting and rockwork etc to improve the look...

Seriously tho, I remeber when it first opened in 1994. We had a Nemesis branded Coke machine in our school common room that sold the blackcurrant branded Nemmy drink.
I remember watching Blue Peter when Nemesis first opened it was like no other ride I'd seen, it was so well themed with rocks and waterfalls, it wasn't till 1997 when I passed my driving test that I finally got to ride the beast.

I Remember them digging the hole for it and riding it in 94 not long after it opened, the floor dropping away in the station was mind blowing at the time 😂 also remember riding thunder looper many times before nemesis even existed that was up in the same area ! It was a great ride !
Yes Thunder looper was great. it seated a lot of people at once, you got on had a great fast ride, then could jump off and rejoin the line to go on again, as it processed riders through it really fast. The floor dropping away was cool. I had to laugh as its still the same floor they had back then. I was there for the first few rides too. I miss those days in Alton Towers. When they had another coaster like the Black Hole there as well, near Thunder Looper. And the two different magic carpet rides they had, as well as the Wave Swinger, Log Flume and Corkscrew. The Corkscrew was iconic and on so much merchandise, it sold the park for twenty odd years. There are some amazing new rides now like Oblivion and the dreaded Smiler. That thing spoiled the Towers for me, with its accident due to poor training and safety protocols. Before that happened Alton Towers had a very good record for safety. I would not trust that thing anymore now sadly...
Loved all those rides😊, my daughter rode the corkscrew the year before it shut down when she was 7, I was so proud that she got chance to ride such a wonderful coaster:)

Went today and only to find nemesis closed. To say we were on tender hooks is an under statement. Thankfully, it did open later in the day. Not the best operations across the park today TBH. Turned out nice in the end though.
I saw on Alton towers instagram and they changed the CBeebies land logo but unless I been at Alton towers last year on my birthday

Original when opened in 1994 was a much more special coaster being no1 in the uk and world class in 1994. Reborn is better all around to Original but never can take no1 spot anymore
I first rode Nemesis in 1996 with my mum who passed away on 1sr December last year. It was the first big coaster I rode.
I was living in the UK in 94 at the age of 12 with my family just north of London and was able to ride it opening year. The 4 hour wait was more than worth it! All these years later it is still in my top 10
The Nemesis area is amazing. Only disappointment was the down time and think someone the merch could be better and its overpriced

The deep connected storylines is deffinatly what the current Towers is missing hopefully they continue to create and push the rides stories a bit more going forward...
2:56 the guy screaming nemesis is my dad… All the ‘actors’ were staff from the offices at AT, many of whom went on to work for Merlin 😂

I’m from the USA, and I actually went to Six Flags Great America. I recognize the footage based on the shot of The Eagle and the area surrounding the roller coaster in the background.
The coaster used in Alton Towers’ Nemesis ‘94 promo is called “Batman: the Ride.” Based on Tim Burton’s Batman movie (1989)

I’m 41, I rode it in 1994, about 3 weeks after it opened, as an 11 year old with my dad and my stepmum. I’d never ridden a coaster before of any kind…..I was s#%ting myself. Back then there was nothing like it in Europe, and apart from the one you mention in America, nothing like it in the world. We rode Nemmy, Thunderlooper and Beast, the later 2 seeming tame compared to Nemmy.

Is nemisis the new triggers broom now?
I know I complain a lot about Alton Towers recently, but Curse at Alton Manor, Nemesis Reborn, and the new Forbidden Valley are the best things to happen to the park recently.
On the other hand, just WHY do these good things at Alton Towers have to be so far and between at the moment?
Skyride is still closed, there are not much flat rides at the park, Hex was still closed on the opening day, and what rides are available are far spread between a lot of empty space...
Hopefully the park continues to invest heavily to bring it back up to the high standards it used to have!
My son and I just sat and watched this together and his fascinated by the story line however i now have several questions how it all links to the phalanx… any chance of doing a full nemesis story/time line? We are also now on nemesis ride height count down.. 13 cm to go! Although 1st we have to try mini fig speedway. We saw you a few times around nemesis but you had far too much going on so we didn’t stop to say hi, but it looks like you had an awesome time. Happy 30th Nemesis… 🎉

Nemesis is a truly excellent ride. However, today, it was running on and off, with 1 train, which they were running half empty. Unfortunately, it might already be a very poorly ride. It looks like it was put into service too quickly to satisfy a marketing campaign. Operations in the rest of the park over the past 2 days have been the worst I have seen in the years I have been going there.
They are having some issues sadly. Hopefully they can get these resolved!
It definitely was the Jurassic Park of '94 , hyped up and everywhere but also living upto to and exceeding the hype when you finally got to experience the awesome film and this awesome ride! That soundtrack really added to the fear and excitement. You knew you were in the number one place everyone in the country wanted to be in that year.

I rode this roller coaster for the first time in 1996, stayed overnight back then in the newly built alton towers hotel and had a thirty minute early park access because we stayed in the hotel and ended up with front row seats. Was amazing 😊
