I’m watching this in 2020 and it is SO DARK. Sometimes I forget that there were other republican candidates. We could’ve had Marco Rubio. He wouldn’t have been good at all, but he wouldn’t have been THIS.
I know that a lot of folks in my extended family and old high school friend group would have voted for Cruz or Rubio had either of them won the Republican nomination. Republican nominees other than Trump were coherent to a significantly higher degree even though some proposals were still varying degrees of bigoted. A good chunk of Republican nominees seemed like they would have been capable of handling a crisis and not get caught up in scandal after scandal. The problem here is that the illogical, the selfish, the racists, and the Karens collectively chose the one and only candidate who was undeniably ill-equipped for office let alone handling a world-wide disease outbreak.
I mean I personally would have voted for Clinton or Sanders, but all of the candidates in the 2016 primaries, Democrat or Republican, would have made a better president.
