Simple straight forward quick videos showcasing a couple of cars showing the rest of the world what Thailand car culture is like; I had no idea there was this much variety with the import taxes overseas. It's funny you mention the quality of Thai garages compared to US garages. I've been lucky enough to peep around million $$ garages in Beverly Hills and San Francisco... I even got to visit Otis Chandlers (LA Times owner) private collection in a completely unmarked building in Los Angeles... the cars were cool, but the places were bland... almost sterile. Garages should be more than a place to park your cars. They should have a personality of their own! Thai garages are next level. Your pics of Heng's garage were stunning. This one had more life in on the walls than some museums I've visited! Motors sitting on polished marble floors! Just nuts!! I just know I'm letting a Thai car guy design my dream garage!!!

The reason the old Mercedes are so cheap in Thailand is that they were locally assembled I think in CKD so didn't have tariffs put on them and used cheaper local labour. We also sold Holden's to Thailand in the 70s and 80s as CKD (complete knock down kits) that were manufactured in Australia but then assembled in Thailand.

My thoughts exactly too, so I did some research (as this one mentioned 1.8 on the trunk lid). When an 190E is mentioned in Europe, most people think of the 2.3 Cosworth version. However, “190 E” also refers to versions with fuel injection (Einspritzung), as opposed to carburated ones.. So there is some confusion here. There was a 1.8 with fuel injection. It seems like no iconic classic cars are being sacrificed.
Don’t be mistaken, guys with these kind of properties are not the average thai, you need to be loaded to be able to effort all that is shown in this video.
As a big fan of DTM and MB's from that time period I would say it is a pretty big claim to say that this is the best 190E on planet earth. Take a look at the FCP Euro 190 build. Putting a Honda engine in this car is kind of swearing in the church. But hey, I love your stuff.

DTM is the German Touring Car championship and they had all kinds of regular cars with mad aero on, these mercedes 190s, opel calibra coupes, alfa romeos. The EVO Mercedes was the road going one for homologation, in the same way Ford did the Cosworths so they could use them for rallying etc (you need to make say 500 road legal ones to have a race one)
