  • The full run down on my Black Marlin built 5.8m center console. After 6 months and over 2000km travelled in this boat I explain all the pro's /con's and everything I would change if I had my time again.

Supper nice boat! I'm very much considering building one of the CNC Marine cabin designs. The maximum trailer width that you can tow in America is 8 ft. 6 inches without a wide load sign. I saw another video about this boat design where they put the fuel separator hidden inside a locker. I would definitely install some trim tabs. Can you install some trim tabs easily now that it's all welded up? In North America, Mickey Mouse imply s that the quality is sub par. This is the first time that I've heard someone use this terminology in a positive way.

Replace the trailer bow roller with a big Vee on the winch post. Best thing i ever did. Catches everytime.

Ill give you a tip when using the extension draw bar. Place something under your jockey wheel before unhitching. If that jockey wheel sinks into the sand, you wont be able to hitch it back up on either hitch point.. love the setup.
See you on the tracks or the water..

Awesome boat, i noticed you've got some sort of support under your Minn Kota, i got a Ram bracket specially made for that under my Motorguide long shaft. It swivels and adjusts to any height bolted on top of the gunnell, it locks the shaft in. I got mine from Brisbane Marine.

Thanks mate, yes it’s just a piece of aluminium cut to suit at that moment while I wait for my “Elecy leg” support to turn up. But I have seen the ram mounts you have also bloody great idea 👍🏽

change the drawbar extension bolt to a cuphead and drill through for a split pin above the bottom webs because if the nut comes free on the top the bolt will fall out and that wouldn't be pretty if you're travelling. this is why they put it the way the have. try something like that or similar.

Hi mate I like your beach launch bar setup have you ever thought about using a treg hitch T Bar they are spring loaded it might work better than both Ur nuts and bolts
Only issue is they will probably rust after awhile from ocean

21:58 they make an edge guard seal that you can fit over that 1/8 aluminum lip that will help seal the hatch and should also make it slide around less and be quiet. I can send you a link if you want?

Mint set up 👍.....I have quite a heavy 6m ally boat myself running the exact motor, you definitely should be spinning 6200rpm and pulling mid to high 70's....5800 RPM is too low. I am running a 16 x 20 - 3 blade factory suzuki prop....A mate who runs a twin rig with identical motors runs a 16 x 21 - 3 blade and runs 6000rm...Hope it helps !

Nice boat mate, I reckon if whacked the Hayman XBar toe around on your Ute it would take away the majority of trailers draggin on the ground unless ya in really big gully’s ect I reckon ya frame would have barley touched the ground on Fraser with one of them on mabey 🤷‍♂️

Thanks mate, I have been looking into one of these and also an adjustable tow ball just to pick up the front of the boat a little more.

I had a pull out pin with spring in my spare tire. To suit Dundee boat ramp few years ago. Just use the winch wire lunching and retrieving. way too easy
