At 46:20 or so, it seems like everything is suddenly faster, right after he buys a shotgun and rocket launcher. Does anybody know why that happened?

yeah it's a glitch called the striker glitch as far as I can recall, it's very simple to execute and gives a huge speed boost

I'm late but the explanation is the following. It's a glitch called the Ditman glitch, named after who discovered it. Aiming with the Striker and opening the menu while the striker is still in the aiming animation allows 1.5x faster movement. The glitch is cancelled by basically anything (Damage, action, transition, cutscene) but not some things like walking, shooting, going up a ledge
