You can basically split them into 38-second phone calls and 50-second phone calls, and each call in the game (with exceptions) will fit into one of those two.
I love how you can tell the taxi driver to wait for you while youre killing people right in front of him and then just use the same taxi to go somewhere else. Thats true professionalislm.

As I was pressing "E" near the weapon on the ground, I was doing the same technique in GTA 4, by mistake and got that max ammo glitch. It's the same animation, when Niko bends down to pick up a coffee cup or a brick to break in the window in some mission. I think when you press "E" near the weapon, it just detects it as an item and not as a weaponary, because in GTA 4 you just need to walk over the weapon to pick it up.

The date stuff is complicated, but basically dating Carmen allows runners to control the time of day throughout the run (once the date is scheduled) with taxi warps. Calling Kate removes a useless text message from Packie.

The best possible time is a sum of the best segments, but it takes into account the current pace of the run. So for every time I beat a gold, it decreases, and whenever I lose time, it increases. However, don't always trust what it says because golds in this games are pretty unreliable.
any chance someone could explain what the different frame rates are for? this is the first real gta iv speedrun ive ever watched lol, would like to know why theres seven different frame limits here
If you are on about the frame limit on the top left of the screen then it is because GTA 4 is not optimised on PC, it has a habit of jumping the frames. Some versions of GTA 4 are fine with the frames whilst the others such as the complete edition still have the issue of it jittering.
my favorite game ever getting another WR congrats! I've tried to speedrun this game to and was able to get past 1st chapter in little over 1 hour and 15mins but couldn't figure out how to do the taxi warp glitch (idk the inputs) to get the RPG following some other runs.
This is brilliant: turn up traffic density to catch a cab as quickly as possible. Turn down traffic density and up viewing distance for easier shooting and chasing, as well as mission driving, etc. I couldn't figure out why he turned those down for cab warps, anyone know? A few times he was able to get the cab to drop him on top and inside various locations which seemed like an activated glitch. All so impressive. My favorite were his shortcuts when forced to drive instead of cab. These are things that you can only do during missions in GTA IV and not GTA V if I'm not mistaken, which is one of the many reason why it is a far superior game, not to mention the driving physics, etc. Please correct me if I'm wrong, or enlighten me about the cab warping and switching settings, etc. I watched this video all the way through and was laughing and WTF'ing the whole time.
