First of all, who on earth is downvoting this video? It's fantastic, no matter what your style or clothing budget. Second, I have a sick, sick closet envy of you, Trinny--not just the clothes but the wardrobe itself and all your storage. I'm ordering some new storage pieces today. And finally, it really does feel good to get rid of things you're not wearing, especially if someone else can really appreciate them. A few years ago, when I lived in Mexico, my young friend's classmate came home to find her entire apartment had been stolen, literally *every* stitch of clothing she owned and all her belongings. Can you imagine?! She was about my height and a size-ish smaller--perfect for all the things I was holding onto in hopes of fitting into again. And she was in business school, so she got all the stuff I had worn when I had a business career and no longer needed--two bin bags worth! :)
Watching this video five years later but recognising the same lovely energy and generous spirit you have. I can empathise with all of your wardrobe dilemmas. Currently I'm struggling with getting rid of some pieces I love that are not working for me any more (too tight!) Thanks a lot for the decluttering inspiration and useful tips!! 💕
i keep checking back to see if you are talking about makeup or skincare. honestly trinny, if you just talk to camera and impart us with your wisdom, stories and sense of humor i could watch it all day... :)
Totally inspired Trinny! I have donated 3 huge bags to my local hospice charity shop today after a huge clearout. Have re-hung everything in outfits and I now love opening my wardrobe doors! Why did I not do this years ago? Amazing! Thank you.
I am and will forever be addicted to your TH-cam channel Trinny! So knowledgeable, funny, efficient, positive and such a lovely person. You always inspire me ✨
Please make a part 2 of this video!! Love the relaxed and realistic nature of the video and also so informative!! Would also love to see the end product of organised wardrobe sections and what's being sold/donated.
Really enjoyed this thanks Trinny. You are so easy to watch and listen to...it is like listening to a friend chatter away. I am 53 and can always learn from you. 👍😊🌸
Your advice about having the same clothes in different sizes really hit home😀I'm going to skim off the duplicates as you suggested. Love your posts. Xxx
LOVE this. I'm mid wardrobe detox & hit a wall but this has reenergised me! Your enthusiasm is infectious. My wardrobe stresses me out & it shouldn't, I should have fun with it!!
I have been following Trinny for a long time and I really like everything I see. Each piece of clothing emits positive energy and joy of life. Unconventional and very elegant.
So happy to see someone else who loves navy and layering. A January cull and sort out is so therapeutic. I found items I had forgotten about which were at the back - it was like finding a new wardrobe. Love that you put items together on a hanger to remind you that they look good together.
Ladies! As announced in today's FB live - the winners of the givaways from my live Wardrobe detox are: Janka Dzurillova for the asos striped size 16, Frances Ratliff for the white COS shirt and Sophie Price for the velvet dress. Thank you for all the participants! x

wow you are so beautiful woman because I'm like you best friend please you contact me Email address israrulhaq15402@gmail.com I have to friend ship with you I'm very like your video so beautiful
this was honestly an extraordinarily helpful video!! I'm not nearly as organized of course but what great ideas for where to start. I've more clothes than I know what to do with but they are nearly ALL styleLESS. great inspiration to be had here for sure. Thank you Trinny!!!
Trinny's videos helped me to be more stylish since I have lots of blazers and jackets. Ive got a lot of tips and tricks from her. Even my officemate notice the changes in my office outfit. Thanks trinny keep on making videos.
LOL! Nothing gets lost in my wardrobe. I am a bit of a clothing minimalist, but I still enjoyed this video. I found some inspiration re: creating outfits and expanding my wardrobe with a piece or two that is a bit more whimsical (like sequins). This was so much fun to watch!
Loved seeing this today. You are precious Trinny. So inspiring. I have so much to shop my wardrobe too and much to save money on my wardrobe and sell a lot. Gonna do a swap n shop too w friends. My hubby has leukemia and I cant buy anything w our budget. I love your taste too and love scarves and jewelry accesories to add too. Wish we had Zara by us. I am a 14/16. I taught a ladies class called designed Dressing on a Dime and Trendy not Spendy for our church ladies groups :)
I love this video, definitely pressing follow. "this is good, this is so good!!" I adore how happy going through your wardrobes make you. I need to go through all mine again. I still have pieces I've had a few years now and not worn. argh. need to de-cutter and not hoard
This has just been so inspiring. I'm going to clean out my closet this weekend and make a list of things I need to buy next week when I'm going shopping with my daughter. Thank you Trinny for being such a great inspiration to us!
Hello Triny, I really enjoyed this video. I am a new subscriber and its good to see a women in my age group giving advice. There many very young you tubers but not for the more mature women. Keep up the great videos!. Love from Canada
So much for giving much away ... I don't care if I spent 200 on a blouse or not if I don't wear it or plan on wearing it I just give it away to someone who doesn't have much. I'm a huge charity person whether it's fina ting to several animal shelters a month or giving away all my seasonal clothing. I do it every time a season changes. I would never waste my time to sell stuff if rather waste me time dropping it from to someone in need.
OMG, I go Joan Crawford on my closet all the time. Replaced all wire hangars with plastic tubular ones. Now I'm transitioning to flocked or otherwise texturized plastic ones because I hate when things slip off onto the floor. I am becoming disenchanted with the flocked ones, though, as I've broken a few setting me back in completing the transformation.
Madmarsha I've had that happen several times to flocked hangers and realized it was the knockoffs I'd purchased at Homegoods. The Joy Mangano (sp?) brand hangers have never broken and I'm pretty sure they don't cost any more than the knockoffs.
I just stumbled across this video. OMG. I loved you and Susannah in the tv show What Not to Wear and I bought and still refer to your book What Not to Wear. It makes me laugh every time I pull it off the bookshelf. I learned how to dress and style myself using the advice in that book. I think I've owned that book for 13-14 years! That book is a part of my "wardrobe". I don't think I'll ever give away, sale or trash that old beat up book! This thank you is many years late, but I offer you and Susannah a big heart felt thank you from south Texas!
I have so many stripe shirts too. I love your style, so inspiring. And I love the tip of putting outfit pieces together ready to pull out in my wardrobe. Definitely saves time!
Loved loved loved this video Trinny, thank you so much!...I am a big fan of de cluttering and re organising my closet and I love to shop my closet ... have a great January! xxCat
You are absolutely fantastic! I am so happy I found your channel. Really surprised you don't have thousands more subscribers, you are so knowledgeable and your personality is wonderful and bright! What an inspiration you are!!
Just discovered this video. I put everything in a rota. So I wear everything. Also, if I buy anything new, one has to go. So i am only buying what I really love as I know something else that I also love will have to go.
I always keep a bag in my closet for cloths that I put on and it just doesn't feel right. I go up and down in sizes and I went down two sizes and I really can't get away with the larger sizes any more. After two years I am finally ready to say goodbye to the things I love but, just too big. I love the black jackets and the white shirt look amazing on you, I can see why you got a few of them. Thanks for the inspiration.
Hi Trinny - I did a major cull this month as well, and it is so liberating to wear my great clothes every day rather than saving them for a special occasion. I feel more confident and glamorous with fewer more loved items. Thanks for the inspiration! Ps I'm a navy girl, too!
Trinny you didn't discuss hangers!!! I am currently selling off my wardrobe, feel my style has changed and I should invest in better pieces but just can't decide on hangers. Pretty ones or non slip functional ones?
Never knew you had a channel! You popped up in my recommendations so I am now subscribed. The Barbara Cartland comment made me laugh, as did the buying clothing for daughters just because you like the item. Thanks for giving me permission to wear navy and black as a pairing. If I find a shirt I like, that fits well and in a neutral colour way, I usually buy a couple of them. I currently own a particular summer top in 5 shades/prints, however, my wardrobe is very paired back and everything - including bags and shoes - is worn regularly. Enjoyed this, Trinny; thank you.
Trinny! Thanks for the inspiration - I will have a January-clean-up in my wardrobe as well now. I love the black velvet dotted dress, and I would be so happy if it could be mine. I am 1.75 tall and velvet is my favourite fabric. I am a single mum to a beautiful 2 year old girl, so the last two years I have not been able to do so much for myself. But that is all changing as we are moving to the city in one week and I will yoga and strut the streets again. I think velvet would go perfectly with that. Much love x
Love this video, so many great tips. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience with us! I was also hoping you could say where the green chinoiserie blouse is from?
Trinny I don't know if it is now too late but I would looooooove that white shirt! I live in white tops and simply just because it was yours would be a gem💗love you!
I have just recently found you , you are beautiful, funny, energetic, elegant, brilliant with wonderful fashion sense and I adore watching and learning from you. Trinny you are an absolute ray of sunshine ❤️
I just rediscovered this video and though I’ve watched it before, got so much out of it again. Perhaps you could do an updated Closet Confessions where you restyle some outfits again?
Hello Trinny, been a fan as long as I can remember. Same age, same size. You have made getting older so much more fun!! I'll cut to the chase because I'm sure you don't have a lot of spare time. If there's anything left over from your giveaways and don't know who to send them to, well don't ponder to long. Just watching this makes me happy, can't imagine being lucky enough to wear it.
Oldish video, but what do you think of fashion now? Im 48 and dont want to wear cropped flairs, cropped flaired top etc. I think its all become unflattering and uninspired in the shops. I want a waist, not shapeless A-line upper and clown trousers! Its like the designers have given up on the female form!! I recently did a wardrobe purge and half my new clothes i got from ballet clothing companies. I'm female and want to look female.
Hi Trinny. Just stumbled across this. Wonderful, informative, entertaining and inspirational. Will most certainly be examining my own wardrobe this weekend. Thank you so much for such original yet practical ideas and tips! !!
I'm in bed with a dreadful flu but u have just made me feel better with your energy and all the great advice. I have identical style to u so it's really informative. keep the vids coming
I have a hard time letting go of items I have purchased. I find, like yourself, that even if I have not worn an item for many months does not mean I will not wear it again. Two reasons, firstly, I shop well and my clothing usually stands the test of time (unless the clothing is representative of a period of time, such as tops with humungous exaggerated padded shoulders) and secondly, I shop so much that I simply cannot rotate my clothing as quickly as I might like to....so many items do not get worn...but are always dedicated friends, waiting for me...
Love your videos Trinny and you definitely make me look at my wardrobe differently.Thanks.We didnt hear which hangers you hate.lol You are great inspiration for mature females.People at my dining group keep telling me "i always look glamourous"lol so surely youve helped.
I just discovered your channel. I loved WNTW and passed my books on to my daughter, who is now also a fan. Lovely to see you here. You're looking fabulous!
I'm 21 and I find it hard to look at my wardrobe in a new light! This video definitely helped me, so thank you! I used to watch your show 'What not to wear', so glad I've found your TH-cam channel!
I love love love the bell sleeve shirt. I had no idea this type of sleeve balances out the chest area. I guess that is why I'm drawned to poofy sleeves. Thanks for pointing that out. I'm in USA so I know I have no chance of getting that shirt but I appreciate the info and I'm glad to have learned something new today. Next time I wear bell leaves I'll think of you 😉
Happy New Year from Toronto, Canada! Love your energy ~ & permission to get rid of things not worn. Brilliant idea. I am encouraged to go shop my closet now & sell/give lots away! :)
Love the blue Asos striped top with the flamed sleeves. It's incredible, I absolutely love navy it looks so flattering on everyone! Navy, white, black & greys are beautiful! Please continue to bless us with your impeccable fashion style and enthusiam, I have newly subscribed.
OMG, I've been fretting about what to wear tomorrow night. And ALMOST went out to buy something new, but stopped myself! Thought about some of my signature outfits, white shirt and nice black trousers!!! Bingo! Found lots of things! Works Every time! Thanks so much for opening my eyes. I'm also guilty of so many white shirts and not to mention those Blue Shirts.... And furthermore, about being 60, if One had hung on to some of the more precious favourites, They'd see that theyre Back on the fashion circuit.!! Like Arnie said.." I'll BE BACK' !!! Lol 😁😁😁😁😁 in
I am definitely going to be doing this as I am divorcing and moving to a smaller house with a much smaller wardrobe😩 !definitely going to sell some of my clothes too - such a great idea - thank you, as I'm going to need some extra cash!
Trinny you are really inspiring me to do this with my own wardrobe! I love the concept of restyling old outfits in a new way. I would love to give a home to the sparkly Zara dress! X
Hi Trinny, that first Zara wrap dress is lovely, exactly my size and for my body I think it would look nice, I'm a little busty but have longer legs. I think I am going to follow your example and clear out things I've kept that I don't wear or need.
I thought a closet detox was just getting rid of things you don't/can't wear anymore. Never thought of hanging outfits together but that's brilliant. I'll think of something I want to wear together and then I'll forget when it comes time to getting dressed. This is a great idea!! When I lost weight and needed a new "closet", I started out with a "uniform", too, of a solid color button-down shirt tailored for a woman with 3/4 length sleeves. I have 3 in white, three in black, one in teal, and one in a powder blue that go with any color trouser so I can get dressed for work "brainless" but still look stylish. I have since branched out a bit but it was a great way to transition into completely changing my style. Too many options cloud my brain. I prefer a smaller closet of things that I actually wear.
Hi Trinny I have been looking and wanting a Velvet dress. That Velvet dress that you're giving away is perfect for me. I am petite with Double D :) i can wear that to my sisters wedding this Summer I am feeling under the weather with a cold and you're video just cheers me up! Thanks and Happy New Year from Canada!
It was brilliant :) such a great way of escaping boredom of wearing the same outfit every day while my wardrobe is full of clothes I love and would love to wear just for some reason I don't :/ so simple just to prepare your outfits earlier like you did Trinny. I find when am rushing in the morning I don't have time to think&plan particular outfits, what matches n what not, I just grab the easiest option and yes it is usually something by Cos too, love their simplicity with a twist..So from now on I plan to prepare five outfits for a week and see how it goes:P Simple solutions are the best solutions!! thank you Trinny xo
This is the first video I have watched of you! It was so entertaining, funny and inspirational. I am going to get rid of those "painting" clothes. I usually get rid of something when I buy something. There are clothes that I have had for ages (they call them vintage pieces) that I love. I am going to watch more and I have subscribed. I live in California and love to watch you ladies from the UK. Thanks for the video, it was great!
Hi Trinny, I'm very short 5 feet and have always stayed away from wrapped dresses because they are often too long and older looking. I love your recommendation about the velvet wrap deess with the slit. I would love to try the velvet trend with a bit of fun with the dots. Love your videos❤
hi I've just come across your video, how really helpful, love love your clothes, my wardrobes are all in a total mess, but full of cheap no style clothes, love the polka dot dress x
Hi Trinny, I am in love with the white shirt you are wearing! May I know where you bought it? I am always on the look out for a great, lady-like classy white shirt. It is difficult (for me) to find a good style and fit and I completely agree with you about getting more than one of the same style, if it is a go-to. Thanks!
Lovely tips Trinny, I would love the Asos striped bell sleeve shirt, because I am a size 14-16 and I already have a striped embroidered shirt from Zara and really like it.
Such a fabulous video Trinny, days worth of inspiration- thank you! I would love, love, LOVE that black velvet polka dot dress. I'm 5"4, shirt body with long legs, and HA e been searching for a nice going out black polka dots dress for months now with no luck. I had resigned myself to getting one tailor made for hundreds of dollars which, let's face it, after Christmas/Ney Year I just don't have! Always love your videos and instagram posts, I never tire of watching your styling tips and bubbly personality xx.
First of all, who on earth is downvoting this video? It's fantastic, no matter what your style or clothing budget. You're the best thing on TH-cam, Trinny! Truly. I learn so much.
i keep checking back to see if you are talking about makeup or skincare. honestly trinny, if you just talk to camera and impart us with your wisdom, stories and sense of humor i could watch it all day... :)
Trinny, love the clothes … but so glad you have since embraced colour into your wardrobe. ☺️🌺
Totally inspired Trinny! I have donated 3 huge bags to my local hospice charity shop today after a huge clearout. Have re-hung everything in outfits and I now love opening my wardrobe doors! Why did I not do this years ago? Amazing! Thank you.

I love that you don't edit or cut off bits in the video. Feels very visceral, rustic, has a documentary feel to it and I LOVE IT!!
Please make a part 2 of this video!! Love the relaxed and realistic nature of the video and also so informative!! Would also love to see the end product of organised wardrobe sections and what's being sold/donated.
I love Trinny more and more. She has a personality and intelligence and humour that are not easy to find. And she is so inspiring !
I love to watch you especially when I feel a little down. You make me happy, I love your energy!
Really enjoyed this thanks Trinny. You are so easy to watch and listen to...it is like listening to a friend chatter away. I am 53 and can always learn from you. 👍😊🌸
Wow, you have the most well curated wardrobe I have ever seen! I love your taste and how you put together your outfits. :)
Your advice about having the same clothes in different sizes really hit home😀I'm going to skim off the duplicates as you suggested. Love your posts. Xxx
I love the way you take things out of your closet then remember why you love it and back it goes!

I have been following Trinny for a long time and I really like everything I see. Each piece of clothing emits positive energy and joy of life. Unconventional and very elegant.
You're endearingly chaotic yet so relatable. I too think of what to wear 8 to 10 years from now hihi🌼👍🏻

Hi Trinny, the white blouse you are wearing is very nice, may I know where did you get it from? Thanks.

I wish this wardrobe clean out would continue so inspiring and educational
Hi Trinny. Just stumbled across this. Wonderful, informative, entertaining and inspirational. Will most certainly be examining my own wardrobe this weekend. Thank you so much for such original yet practical ideas and tips! !!

keep the vids coming
I have a hard time letting go of items I have purchased. I find, like yourself, that even if I have not worn an item for many months does not mean I will not wear it again. Two reasons, firstly, I shop well and my clothing usually stands the test of time (unless the clothing is representative of a period of time, such as tops with humungous exaggerated padded shoulders) and secondly, I shop so much that I simply cannot rotate my clothing as quickly as I might like to....so many items do not get worn...but are always dedicated friends, waiting for me...
Love this show on redoing the wardrobe 👌🏻great de clutter ideas! Thanks Trinny
I love how much you love clothes. It's so fun to watch your videos!
How long do you generally keep a shirt in rotation? A season, a year, several years? Such as the ones with embroidered flowers...?
OMG I have 2 cape shirts that I don't wear now you have given a new way to wear them - as a jacket 👌🏻
Hello Trinny! Your channel is just amazing! Thank you for your enthusiasm! Keep going...
I choked on my tea when you said you were having a Barbara Cartland moment in that dress...so funny!
Kathy Fredrickson Now I know why that dress never appealed to me Lol 😂😀😀 T was right on point there...
Lol 😁😁😁😁😁 in
Dear Trinny I just found your channel and I am loving it. Thank you x
Excellent advice! I love this. You are so chic and stylish.
I am definitely going to be doing this as I am divorcing and moving to a smaller house with a much smaller wardrobe😩 !definitely going to sell some of my clothes too - such a great idea - thank you, as I'm going to need some extra cash!
massively inspired, fab video.....I'm off to empty my wardrobe! xx
"Federica, darling, can you bring up the hangers I hate?" 😂
I prefer a smaller closet of things that I actually wear.
i thoroughly enjoyed this video. i love how you layer pieces together.
Oh, this is such a wonderful example for us all, as well as good fun! I would love to see more videos on this sort of thing.
Thanks!
My friend and I go into each other's closets and put together outfits. It helps to have another's perspective!
Manic metallic phase has just entered my vocabulary forever! X
