I've been playing ball hockey for around 5 years and not once has a fight broken out. My friend has been playing for around 15 and he's only had to deal with one fight. But the crowd that comes to our games is totally different than the norm, not barbaric at all lol.

Ball hockey/dek hockey is pretty big here in Pittsburgh. Great way for people to play if they can't skate, don't have to money, or are just looking for something fun to do. It's great because It's a lot cheaper than getting ice time, great way to stay sharp while not spending a bunch on getting ice time.
lots of leagues in canada ... good to here theres some in the states too. nhl should promote it more as a cheap alternative to ice ... which is really an expensive sport

Madden, to his credit, really does a lot for the tournament scene here and for the international tourneys. My novice days are behind me, but man those were fun tournaments.

As a ball hockey goalie, ball hockey in my school f$cking awesome, my school doesn’t have a league or anything(wish we did)but we have an annual tournament, it’s awesome

Except it was more intense because we had zero padding and lots of people trying to show off 😂 I learned you should never try to catch a slapshot from some guy. Stung for a few days.
I played pro roller for years but wish there was more vids of it all. Played in the exhibition game for Speed hockey league that never took off in Trenton in front of a few thousand. Torhs in Michigan was always intense. MLRH and PIHA games were always real good too. If vids ever pop up online id love to see them but thanks for the highlights of ball hockey where alot of us started

At 3:51 it wouldn't have been a goal because the ball was in his glove and after he caught it his glove was fully inside the goal. Or does that rule not apply to floor hockey?

The ball never went into the glove, it bounced off his glove and landed in between the goalie's legs. You can actually see the ball sitting between his legs @ 3:51

Me only bein 5’7 I’d have no problem trying to take on that Canuck in the red/white. If there’s anything I learned in all my years of hockey it always was. It’s not the point to “win” the fight it’s all in how much damage I can get in during it. Also from playin in our international friendly game once a weekend every year. A Canadian hates it when you say “Canadian bacon ehh”.

That’s crazy seeing that last play/mess there happening in my hometown on my little island Newfoundland. Crazy to think that something like this happened there and got as much traction as it did on TH-cam. It was crazy spectating what happened there. Now, whenever I skate there I always remember that little kerfuffle, really cool stuff.

I wasn't trying to shut up the person in the video. If you go to the EIHL: Protecting Teammates video you can find the conversation. I told him hockey was hockey and that I would do videos that had to do with hockey. Hence his comment 😊 He just came at me guns blazing which makes him look bad but seriously he was a nice guy 😄

The last clip happened at one of my local stadiums in St.John's back in 2015 it was the world championship and between canada and czech republic. It was in the news hear that the ref actually broke his leg thats why he stade on the ground the whole time

Ball hockey fights are uncanny.
Rollerballs sucked bad. Cant remember if we used the plastic pucks or rubber pucks stuffed with weight in my middle school league. Balls bounce all over the place, they are harder to control, and travel like shit in the air for a slapshot.

Seems like a fun alternative to me, but yet sadly there is lots of comments on here that are shaming it and looking down on it. All the fighting in rec type leagues is crazy I agree lol but I think it would be cool to play this and more accessible to me considering I am a 24 year old big guy from the south who just got into watching ice hockey and has never skated in his life 😂 I might just buy me a net, stick, and puck for my house so at least it could give me the thrill of shooting a puck into the goal to experience this awesome sport more that I have recently enjoyed watching!
