Some of my morning routine feeding horses, keeping fit and reading Thomas à Kempis - “The Imitation of Christ” (Chapter 22: “On the Consideration of Human Misery”)
In this chapter, Kempis reflects on the wretchedness of human life and the transient nature of worldly pleasures. He emphasizes the importance of turning to God for comfort and guidance. Kempis believes that true peace and happiness can only be found through a spiritual life dedicated to God. He encourages readers to focus on their spiritual growth and to find solace in their faith, rather than in the fleeting pleasures of the material world.
