Jus fyi, Marilyn Manson chose his name (and those of his band mates) to reflect how the media sensationalizes both celebrities and serial killers with equal fervor. Having been a journalism student himself he used it to point out the hypocrisy in national media compared to supposed "moral value". The only band mates who did not follow that formula were John 5 (Jonathan Lowery) and Tim Skold. Both of them had already become recognized names in the metal industry by their previous bands. John 5 was originally from 2WO (with Rob Halford of Judas Priest) and Tim Skold is originally from KMFDM. Personally, I was always fond of the idea of the 'p0rn star name' formula (first name + name of street you grew up on). However, my online handle I have gotten used to is a shortened version of my last name and I think I will be using that for a while. Mainly because my art is about to take a very erotic and sexually graphic turn.
I actually have 2 different artist names. One that I have for over 15 years and one that is still very fresh. I only choosed to upload art under a second name because my art expanded to a style that is very different from my previous one. So I basically draw in 2 artstyles now (digital animeart and realistic watercolour animalart). Choosing the names wasn’t too difficult for me. The thing I worry about is what to do if I should decide to actually sell my work. Because both artstyles are „okay enough“ to sell and I don’t want to limit myself to only selling stuff from one art-name. But running two art-shops seems pretty daunting (double the time to grow a customer-base, filling two accounts with content, having two bank accounts etc.). I don’t think it is smart to merge thee two together though because the styles are so different and attract different people. Honestly I don’t know what to do. I was thinking about choosing one of the two names, opening a Webshop under this name but then also having a dedicated corner with the „special other art“ there as well.
I’ve never realized how sometimes your artist name can effect or make an impression on my art! Thank you so much for being an amazing art teacher, if I could, I would give you an apple for my favorite teacher! (Or anything else of ur preference ofc 😂😂)

Interesting topic. It’s tough to come up with usernames that match an interesting professional name that you want to use since so many usernames are already taken on different platforms. About your choice of name, interesting that you liked it because of the bat meaning. I'd guessed, incorrectly, that it was because of the meanings associated with vesper. Yet another wonderfully made and incredibly informative video! This video was so inspiring and helpful! 💜 I've been contemplating changing my username or starting a new account for YEARS but always thought it would just be a bad idea. This video really helped me realise that it's totally ok to change your username and start fresh with a new alias. Even the most well known celebrities and artists change their alias from time to time for numerous different reasons. I can move on from my past and have a fresh start doing what I personally love, without feeling held back and worrying that doing something new wouldn't fit my old style or persona. Having a fresh start and starting a new persona/identity or stepping into a new reality as you described it would be wonderful. Moving on from your past and changing your branding to start fresh would definitely be a massive lifesaver. Feeling stuck and like you're not able to break free from your past and try new things totally kills your creativity and ability to give new things a try. Thank you so so much for making such a wonderful and detailed video, and even describing your own personal experiences with starting fresh with a new account/name. You're a lifesaver and all of your videos are so insanely helpful for creative people to help them change and improve. The way you delve into your own past experiences just really goes to show how you've dealt with similar struggles and want to help others better themselves as well :) Your videos are so helpful and inspiring. Also loved the story of how you created your artist name :) Absolutely excellent video legend! Cheers from Australia 💜🦇

Hi! I can definitely make a video on that topic! In short: one tip I can give you is, find artists like you, as for level of skills, age etc, and start noticing how much they charge. Even if they have a huge following, it does not matter. At first, after raising your prices, you might not get commissions or sales for a while, but you have to be patient when your audience arrives at some point :)

Would using the name I have on TH-cam as my artist name be a good idea? The audience from my videos and people I talk to on Discord might be interested in my art. Also, have you considered setting up a Discord server so your students can show their work and help each other?
For the first question: it's up to you :) There's really no right or wrong answer! Also, nothing stops you from changing your mind later on. Just go with what feels more natural to you right now, and then see what happens :) For the discord server, I actually never thought about it, but might consider it :) 🦇♥️

Ciao! Spero possano esserti utili! Ho fatto l'Accademia a Roma! Scenografia! La tua tesi sembra interessantissima! I miei migliori auguri 🦇♥️
@@vespertiliu Grazie mille davvero!! I dont intend to release my real Name for my works. Becuz I want my stuff to be free (I have a job and I dont want to monetize it) because I dont want to engage in dumpsterfire-drama online over the stuff I create. Even if 1 person on the Planet would like me stuff, Id be happy :) As for my artist name: I cant pick something serious. On good days It would be things like "Autofart McMachinepistol" or "Comrade Crackmonkey" Edit: Mad respect to the tolerance-aspect and taking a stand against hate. You Rock!
Argomento interessante!!
It saddens me that you had to express that hateful/hurtful comments are not welcomed. I have seen the worst what humans can do to each other. Some people just have to go out their way to express their validity as the expense of others & with perceived notion that consequences do not apply to them because they are "right". Love the videos but sad there people who come here to be just that A-hole.
Hi darling, no worries, to be honest I received very very few hateful comments under my video. What concerns me is the amount of people who shared bad experiences with people who hurt them in many ways. My message was not meant to "scare away" people who hate on me personally, but to say that the kind of people that like to hurt us all, me and the people of this community, are not welcome. I said those things because I want a safe space for YOU :)
Ok I overreacted, sorry I assumed there were individuals trolling commenters on your videos. I am that trollers worst nightmare, ask my wife, the minute she was being trolled by incel ilustrator haters on a discord illustrators forum to the point of us getting doxxed & calls to intimidate her at conventions.. I told them to come by anytime she has a booth, & we can chat. They have yet to show. I@@vespertiliu

That's awesome!
that background music epic haha
I dont intend to release my real Name for my works. Becuz I want my stuff to be free (I have a job and I dont want to monetize it) because I dont want to engage in dumpsterfire-drama online over the stuff I create. Even if 1 person on the Planet would like me stuff, Id be happy :)
As for my artist name: I cant pick something serious. On good days It would be things like "Autofart McMachinepistol" or "Comrade Crackmonkey"
Edit: Mad respect to the tolerance-aspect and taking a stand against hate. You Rock!
Argomento interessante!!
so太cool酷💐♥️☕️👏
