How can I tell If Iâm a real Artist?
What does it take to be considered an artist?
Am I worthy of being called an artist?
It took me way too long to start calling myself an Artist and believing in what I was saying. This went on even after I became a professional artist when my first graphic novel was published, and it would take me almost another 4 years. Today I will talk about what I learned and include a list of 10 unhealthy misconceptions about artists, hoping to help you get out of your shell and start living like the artist I know you are.

The TCL NXTPaper 12 pro, that's what. A discontinued tablet by TCL that runs on an old version of android that won't be getting any updates whatsoever, according to xppen themselves.
âĪIt's a video that supported me a lot, I think you're right on many points and spending my life comparing didn't feel good to me, but thank you very much for this video.
Ultramarine blue! This oil pastel palette is blessed by the god emperor, may it vanquish many art pieces!
Your videos are so necessary to all people who are creating arts. Recently I overcame this feeling which I wasn't an artist just because my art is not perfect and I am not a professional artist. And about quick and imperfect art sometimes I did this kind of stuff and the arts I do this way are my favourite and it's great no have too much concerns and thoughts to create a piece of art. Well done for the video, every artist should watch it.
U not real
Oh, thank you so much for this video! Iâve been feeling down lately, and your video was like a spark-it always is, in some weird way. You keep me from losing hope in my art, even when I donât feel like creating. I honestly wish I had met you as my art teacher back in school! ð Thereâs so much I want to react to, but Iâll just say that when you talked about pain and tormented feelings for artists, it really resonated with me. I went through a time when I thought that if I stopped feeling those intense emotions, Iâd stop drawing. It was such a deep fear that I forced myself to stay in those dark places just to make art. Thankfully, thatâs all in the past. If there are any artists out there going through the same thing, Iâd say let it go. Itâs scary, and it takes a lot of courage to release control and feel like your art is slipping through your fingers. But itâll only do good-youâll rise stronger and better, like a phoenix. As you said, there are other emotions worth feeling and exploring through art. Anyway, Iâm starting to go too deep, so Iâll stop here. Just wanted to say Iâm really happy you made this video! The quotes âIâm an artistâ and âLetâs make artâ will stick with me for a while, like affirmations to my inner child, reminding her that she doesnât need anyone to call her an artist-she can call herself that. Thank you again! Have a lovely week, and Iâm looking forward to your next video! ðđ
nahhhhhh no one can stop me from purposely looking for negative experiences to live out my Lord Byron fantasy, close tho
I tried my best ðŦĄ
i like how freak your art is, in a good way
So reaaal. Patience is smth so difficult to develop like I used to hate hands bc I COULDN'T DRAW, I was so stressed bc when I tried it didn't work how I wanted so I just skipped every time I could. But one day I was like "f*cked it, I cannot live like this" and tried till worked decently, it took me hours to draw ONE HAND and it wasn't perfect but I did it and now it's still difficult but I'm able to draw hands in almost every angle. Patience is smth I lack of but if I never take the time and accept things can't be perfect at the first try I could never make my art work âĻ
I Think You Said It Very Well Done, Artists Are Supposed To Show Their Experiences Through Music And Art So They Show At The World THEY MATTER!
thanks a lot for drawing with me, for isnpiring me during my first approach with a pencil and a blank sheet of paper after a loooong time. âĨ
Got curious about the "Live" tab and OMG... The intro song made my day, molte grazie ð
Le sirene sono le mie preferite!
I hope you continue to spread your encouraging and valuable message. Youâre not only a real artist but also a real one. Straight up ð
"perfection kills passion" hit the hardest for me. It's true. I think a lot of adults stop drawing is because they think about turning their drawing hobby into a carreer and start to compare themselves with professional artists. They (we) don't acknowledge that the professional artists are simply in a later point in their journey. The difference isn't talent, it's the amount of invested time and effort.
i've been drawing so many years now and got so good at it but yet to make it professionally. meanwhile i see some people going professional in 2-5 years at most. makes me so sad as it's super discouraging. why does it not happen to me my art is just as good objectively if not more.
Can u do a video about fear to be seen cause i m indecisive i dk if i wanna publish sm or not cause i m kind jealous of my work and afraid of beung stolen from ai lol And when to consider urself good enought cause i can t see much improvement

I used to haave a lot but now maybe i m a lityle butned out i van t find purpode to do them again and sincerely enjoy it
Ur really putting energy and this s appreciated
Your words always uplift and inspire ðĪ thank you for always being here Even after being an artist for 15 years I still feel like I'm not really an artist sometimes, especially now when I don't have time to finish things. I am an artist, and I am allowed to exist as one whether people see it or not
YES PERIOOOOD T____T YOU ARE AN ARTIST!!!
Very good points and well explained also. I would also add that TIME is a requirement (hence patience) in the artistic journey, because our brain needs to reprogram itself to be able to learn and improve but also to have a better grasp of our inner selves and our surroundings. So you should enjoy the process (the growth itself) and not STRUGGLE TO BE an artist at all costs, because that is impossible. If it is in your nature, you already are an artist: don't confuse technique with art. Just try to have fun, to enjoy yourself, that's the purpose: good things will come in any case.
totally agree with your thought! Thank you for sharing <3
this video and all of your words felt like a hug <3 thank you for making this and thank you for being an artist ðđðĪ
I'm so glad you felt this way about it. Thank you so much <3
I came to watch cats play lol :P I am joking, of course (though I DO love your video editing :))) ). It has been a while since I have visited but I always thoroughly enjoy your observations. You are wise beyond your years and present your points in such an excellent manner. I have experienced any number of these points during the course of my photography work (semi-professional work only, for it is not full time). You're to be admired for sharing such points. I always chuckle during your vids and nod my head in agreement. Your study of the psychology of artists is spot on. Well done, as always! :)
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your analysis of my content here. I'm really glad you liked it. Also, I really appreciate you had fun with my cats ahahahah
Very inspiring and encouraging. Great video!
Thank you very much <3
Ahhhh, you're my favourite artist for real ð I love everything about your videos and you and your art, everytime I watch I get so inspired and I feel like I always come out of it feeling better than when I entered. Your videos are such an authentic, healing space for me âĪ I recently got into music making! A friend showed me briefly how to use FLStudio a few days ago, and it's been in my thoughts ever since. I'm constantly itching to open it up and play around with sounds, make melodies, make music. I haven't felt this sort of passion in a long, long time, but I already started feeling the weight of being perfect stopping me from completing any songs. "That's not how this should sound" "why does it feel off?" "it needs more" "it needs less", your video slapped me in the face with the reminder that heading down this perfectionist road again is going to kill my creativity sooner or later. I'm going to try to loosen up, and just enjoy making! Thanks once again, my spooky art teacher! âĪðĶ
GO MAKE BEAUTIFUL IMPERFECT MUSIC NOW!!!!! Thank you very much for your kind words. Please, put perfection out of the door and MAKE MUSIC! Listen to the "itching"! Grow the spark of your passion! <3

<3 <3 <3
10:08 I promise I don't mean this in a weird way, haha! I found your channel through TH-cam searching, and I assume that anyone I have ever met hasn't followed your videos or art. But, without knowing how poopular or famous you are in other circles or countries, I love your talks about creating because I find them unique and rare. In my head, I sometimes think "wow-- I hope she gets more people following her art" because, those days, I assume that you're a hidden underdog. But, other days, I feel like all artists can vanish and appear randomly, any day. The art remains, and what people like is what people like! Thank you for your videos!!
Period! Thank you so much <3
I always remind myself about 1. what an artist publically shows AND what we "see" their art as are only a fraction of what their work is like. similar to a crush or a boyfriend-- no one else sees them just like you do, and they can't show every side of themselves at once! 2. I'm usually assuming how long a certain drawing or project took. 3. I'm usually assuming that what is shown is the first attempt, or the first finished piece. A lot of artists will fully draw something, like a comic page, multiple times. It's not just multiple rough drafts, but learning how to draw the same piece again. There's a video about past artists "doing it twice" on TH-cam.
The boyfriend paragon is surprisingly accurate! I agree with your thought here! Thank you for sharing <3
Thank you so much. You say the exact words i never knew how to prononce, seeing this video is healing something in me. Iâm usually silent under videos in general but i had to thank you for that, you helped someone forgive themselves
Thank you so much for commenting this time. I always appreciate it when you all comment and share your thoughts (and your struggles). You are giving back to me very generously. We can all heal. <3
A lot of the time when I sit down to draw I want others to see that I am not wasting my time on art so I would draw and draw and spend hours trying to be good enough or perfect and I forget to have fun. The most ironic thing is that I love when and what I draw a lot more when I'm having fun or if the drawing is for someone. I will be taking your advice into my heart. It all made sense and feels sound! Thank you, Vespertiliu! Have a beautiful day!! âĪðâĪ
YES. MAKE ART BECAUSE YOU LOVE TO MAKE ART. ALLOW YOURSELF TO HAVE FUN! <3
This video made me feel like I just went to therapy, thank you veronicaðĶ

I have this exact problem! I've been doing this for 4 years, and I still feel like a fraud. This is helpful.
Sending hugs ðŦðĶâĨïļ
@vespertiliu hi I'm just wondering if you'd ever do a collab with fans like myself? Some of us want help from fellow artists to get started, and appearing in a video of someone well known helps alot.
Iâm sure she has so much on her plate but thatâd be a great segment to have on oneâs channel. Great idea
Ive been drawing my whole life, ive been really bad at art but i was really confident on my art, always conceded myself an artist :)
I'm really impressed how you go straight into the clean ink drawing with NO UNDERDRAWING! Truly amazing, I hope I can get to this level of confidence with my ink drawing as well.
I stopped a lot of things cause I'm just so busy. Going to and from work is 12 hours a day, plus errands, keeping up the house, etc, I don't even have time to eat dinner until I'm on my way to bed. I don't have time for any hobbies that require hands
It's so cool to see you challenge yourself with this medium, I find pastels soooo difficult :D The tip to build a base colour first is very galaxy brain, I literally never could figure out why the scraping didn't work for me. The pomegranate seeds look so chunky it's very pleasing to look at. I love the hatching details at the end, they do absolutely bring it together! Will have to try it again! :D
oh my god, I always saved your illustrations on Pinterest, didn't know you have a YT channel, I'M SO HAPPYYYYYY
I have that fountain pen for a year now. Its amazing âĪ i both draw and writen with it. The nib is amazing but the plastic broke so both of mine are ducktaped aroundð
If you would like go and binge Black Bean CMS and Crayon Rabbit TH-cam channels for oil pastel tips ð They're really good ð
i loved drawing up until i hit a wall in my mid20's, i realised i was just drawing the same things over and over again, couldn't break out my drawing comfort zone and then lost the passion for it. it's only now i've turned 30 and a few months after the birth of my son that i'm getting the itch to draw again. i have less time to do it than ever yet i've managed to put a couple of bits in a sketchbook and it feels good. like ive reclaimed something x
Jesus loves you
I know :)
Merry was taking notes
Oh my, that's a lot of work you did there, and it's looks so nice and yummy, I'd buy some for sure, especially the small cauldron sound super cute! ðŧ Did you thought of maybe selling some templates for the jars so people can maybe print it at home and put it on jars? just a thought tho ~ Also another question, more technical, what brush did you used in procreate? Thank you again for the vide and waiting for next one ðđ
aaaaaaah my favorite witch âĨïļâĨïļâĨïļ love this video!!
Thank you Habibi âĨïļ
Your designs are magical in every way. Did you find that using procreate was decent enough versus Illustrator or vector file?
I never used illustrator so I cannot tell ðĨē but I know for a fact that for design in particular there are better tools than procreate. Itâs a wonderful software to draw and make art but if you need a more technical approach you definitely can find a better solution ðĨē btw thank you so much âĨïļ
@@vespertiliu okay thank you. Just curious. Keep up the amazing designs ð
This is unrelated to the video, but will you ever do a collaboration with big art youtubers like Jazza or Ten Hundred? Or maybe smaller one's like Eiririnn?
Hi! I admit I don't know any of these creators (and I believe none of them knows me). But I'd love to collaborate with other artists :) I love Frannerd <3
@vespertiliu I think it's cool when other creators collab with others. I think it's a great way for creators to promote other people's content, especially when they're first starting off.
@@vespertiliu I'm just wondering if you'd ever do videos with fans such as myself?
Oh my god it's so much work that you show and all of this in edited video! Thanks for the info, any sponsorship aside
Thank you so much! I really had a lot of fun with this! :)
Pastels are a sensory nightmare for me! It's so cool seeing you experiment and enjoy the process!!
