Great Stuff Dave 👍 ingenuity at its best! When I moved to N Idaho 10 years ago and experienced the first Winter with occasional 10 degree average 20 at night. I went to work crafting 3-4 mini emergency stoves to pipe out a Window if grid goes down. Like you. I find everything at thrift and old surplus stores. Best! Merry Christmas. Hope you score on some great stuff at the Market
I am totally stoked by your stoves, and in this case, emergency stove idea. I think this is something that everybody should have before any fact of actually having to need it ... After all, and in the meantime, it doesn't eat bread!
Well now, Beautiful Bride agreed that a DIY stove like this will be a great reuse of an old, out of code butane tank. MIL (Mother In Law) was easily convinced to accept a good tank to use as her back up/spare in exchange for the old tank we now have. I kept thinking tent stove for camping up north in the mountains of Baguio. It can get a bit frosty in the mountains. On balance, cloning your great creation would be something we would use often down in our province in the flatlands. Air conditioning is far more important than a wood stove to heat your home or tent where we live! We may replace the stacked hollow block fire pit at the front of our carport with this unit, time will tell. We walk around our Philippine subdivision, frequently collecting limb wood and small trees that die if flooded. We have family practice sessions with our young troops where they work on building their outdoor skills and emergency preparedness. Collecting water and building a fires are two of the top skills we encourage them to work on.
I can relate, I have a house furnace that’s never been used. A small electric ceramic heater is all we need on chilly nights. I have an air conditioner on wheels I use in the tent. Thanks, I really appreciate your comments and for watching!
I have several of those stainless steel steamer inserts. I use them for various things. Parts washer tray to contain small parts. Drill the holes a little larger to use as a sifter or bbq base.
All I know, it that when I watch your videos, I’m enjoying it.
Ringo to ya!!!
Thanks for watching, have a great day!
