What a man sending you the tyres, I nearly fell of my chair when the starter burst into life, bet your glad you had yer brown trousers on Mr mancave 😂👍 👀
Big pat on the back to George for helping out with the tyres. No doubt he will get some extra enquiries from others who watch this video. Looking forward to seeing you fit them
I think I would have been checking for spark before you tried a start Adam, you certainly are an optimist 😁 I am looking forward to the day you pressure wash the old girl
I have every confidence your next video will show the tractor running and the story about what you did. Top marks to your tyre supplier I hope his kind gesture is rewarded(a smile and kiss from mrs Mancave would cover it).
1st line of attack should have been the points, once they're sparking you're almost there. Next have the acorns out of the distributor cap as the contacts inside are brass and these will be covered in green corrosion which is a very good insulator. Have the starter solenoid to bits, they're totally serviceable with everything coming apart to lend itself to being cleaned and reassembled and working like new.
Adam if you try to get the starter going by bridging the solenoid terminals and you don’t get sparks there’s no path to circuit to ground.I know nothing about Fergies but I suspect there’s an earth missing. An engine needs air so your rag is a non started.
so the starter is ok, pull the plugs hand crank and check for spark, check starting switch for contact etc. Get a plastic cap off a bottle a bit larger than the carb inlet and tape that it on with a small hole 3mm or so. The rag looks to be too restricting and there would be little air flow into the manifold. Put some fuel into each cylinder prior to test start and see if this helps..... good luck - sounds like the wirings around the steering box needs attention as well.
Why do u never do things properly, yeah bugger check for spark clean the carb pull the dip stick check the rad and above all get the old girl swinging over on the starter motor if every thin is right she will fire up good luck with it
Did water go down the exhaust while it was idle, take out the spark plugs and see will the engine turn over freely it looked like it was tight with the handle. Looks like that tractor was tidied up a few years back take your time the rings might be stuck.
points condenser rotor arm distributor cap plugs. its a case of elimination. and a fully charged battery. try some easy start..pull number one plug out and heat the tip until its red hot shove it back inas quick as you can worth a try.
Your get her going again i remember when you done work to this before adam many moons ago look up agriline tractor parts if you need any bits best out there
Doesn’t matter which way you connect the starter Adam, as it will still go the right way. P.S. Have you changed the engine oil, or at least partially undone the drain plug to check for water in the sump?
When mine does this ( i mean no clicks etc) i put it in 1st and rock the rear wheel manually (with vigour) , dont ask me why lol maybe lacking teeth in wheel. Also may still have had bangless petrol in it , maybe purge more out of lines bowl etc ill shut up now. Good luck
I have always wondered what you do for a living, as you do seem to have a lot of free time to do your projects. Can you let us all know as it seems the ideal job .

When you get round to cleaning the Fergie will you be using a sponge and water or a lawn mower?

I think you should lock up the new tyres before someone else claims them?
simply light the blue touch paper and away she goes !!!
Starter refurb at panks in norwich. Some atf oil down bore to free rings and a squirt of easy start.

Would you be willing to sell any of those engines at the start of the vid next to the tires on the right
Hi Adam, Well you gave me it a good try knowing you it willl not be long before you get it running.🛠️🛠️⭐️⭐️👍👌🎅🤶🎄
Good man Adam I knew you'd get the starter off before calling it a day.
Be Good to see it running 🤠
Multimeter time Adam! See where volts are. Or not!
You might want to put a filter in that petrol bowl, that's the idea of it.

It will fall on deaf ears mate.

Did you connect the starter rod?

I reckon he owns Swaffham auction 😂
I'd say some sort of caretaker in a golf club, would be quiet this time of year 😮
Adam is the chief norfolk coronation day flag seller.
He works in a carehome
I believe he is a director in the highways department in Norfolk county council
Hopefully she will start for you
