    This is why I love this channel. It's not just a shoe review page, but an entire packaged experience for the every day runner. Really appreciate and benefit from these training insights + off the cuff commentary on important running related topics!
    This video, in particular, feels God sent. I have asthma, which makes getting out for colder weather runs difficult due to flare ups. I am fortunate to own a treadmill, but it truly does not compare to the plethora of mental and emotional health benefits outdoor running brings.
    I've been dealing with a difficult bronchitis related flare up lately, and with today being my scheduled long run, I was absolutely not looking forward to 2+ hours on the treadmill. But I put on this video, took ALL the inhalers (lol), and showed up. Not only did I get all my miles in, but I was also able to pop outside for the last 4 (which felt so refreshing!). I suspect running in the Alphafly 3's helped as well - so fun!
    All of this to say - thank you. Thank you for helping me pull through, especially mentally, at a tough time. I am elated and grateful. 🙏🏃🏼‍♀️

    The bit about doing it for yourself is spot on…. do it for yourself and your family. So often we go the extra mile for our boss, customers, or complete strangers and we give what’s left to our families. Make those who are most important in our lives the priority. A lot of people call them bricks, but I'm at the point where I'm also calling it my all time favourite! So much fun, stable, a low recovery cost and a 'do it all' shoe. I am a forefoot striker though, who doesn't mind a 'heavy' shoe.

    • @supwell
      @supwell  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's funny because the performance was awesome for me - but they just feel heavy. I want to get some more miles on them because they have the potential to be awesome - just not clicking out of the box. It took me 40 miles to love the Boston 12 as well

    • @gkott78
      @gkott78 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@supwell It took me about 15 to 20 miles to break in the Boston 12, and love it as a fast daily. I don't disagree the PSX2 is very bottom heavy. What I do notice about it, and why I love it, is my level of effort for the pace is greatly reduced. That shoe just propels me forward with very little effort. I am faster in shoes like the Cielo X1, but the Cielo is almost too bouncy for me where the shoe feels unstable. I'm certain that the way I compress even at my slower speeds, is a very different experience than what you feel with a longer stride and faster pace. I'm shorter legged and heavier than you by nearly 40 lbs. I think the PXS2 is a certified big guy shoe.

    Are your prime x strung 1 and 2 both size 10.5? If so, are there differences, good or bad, between the two versions? I have the strung in size 11, but adios pro 3 and Takumi Sen 9 in 11.5 and find all 3 to fit about the same. I originally ordered 11.5 in the Strung v1 and it was really big and returned for the 11. So, wondering what size I should expect to order if I get the Strung v2. Thanks for your channel and excellent content! 😎

    • @theghostofpcs2391
      @theghostofpcs2391 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's best to just try for yourself, because opinions on sizing are often all over the place. I wear the TS10, AP3, and PX2S all in the same size (EU 40.2/3). The TS10 fits the most snug, and has the least room up front. But that's a women's last. The other two are unisex shoes, where the PX2S has the most room up front, but all are just fine in the same size.

    • @supwell
      @supwell  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I have both in a 10.5. The strung 1 does feel a bit roomier on foot but it's also possible that's because it's more broken in. My general rule of thumb is to always order 10.5 and it works well for me. Only shoes that were too tight this year in 10.5 were the Asics Metaspeed shoes

    The hallucinations only happen after like 70+ miles and it’s like 3 am and all you care about is finishing so you can go to sleep. The trail talks to you. It tries to bring you down. It doesn’t want you to finish. It wants you to lay down and nap right where you’re at. That’s the real grind in ultras, fighting off what you think the trail is telling you to do. During an ultra, xxx amount miles is whatever, it’s tough, it’s cool. But it’s truly mental toughness.

    Ths crystal ball showed some interesting stuff......
    a sub 3hour 30 minutes 50 k in the near future
    a bunch of ultras sprinkled into the marathon training as fun long runs
    after 2028 shifting to primarily run ultras with the occasional local marathon sprinkled in as long run training
    getting on the podium of the Umstead 100.......
    sounds good to me
    p.s. the danger of halluzination is pretty small on runs under 24 hours, unless you don`t fuel with carbs. I guess all 200 mile runners suffer through some halluzination, because we cannot run decently hard and fuel enough carbs for over 30 hours. The brain cannot use fat as fuel, so at a certain point there will be some malfunction

      @@supwell .....well i just put 2 information packages into my crystal ball, one was Nick Bester and the other one Tata Dower......and
      baddabang buddaboom, out came a north star with your name on it
      You can watch their channels and will find, that there are quite a few similarities in Nick`s journey and your`s.
      The comparison with Tara is a little more difficult. I watched her videos, when she truhiked the AT in 2019 with her husband....i don`t know, what the driving force was, but earlier this year, she became a professional runner, sponosred by Altra, won outright the Umstead 100 in a amazingly fast time, just to smash the FKT on the supported AT truhike a few months ago. I remember a few years ago, when my all time favorite ultrarunner Scott Jurek made big waves ( and a book) when he just barely improved the old record. Meantime the record has been improved several times,and Tara was more than a week faster then Scott.
      .....now to be honest, why should you not be able to run as fast as those two runners, be it a marathon or a 100 mile ( as long as it is a runnable course and not a technical mountain trail race). Staying healthy, running daily, living in a happy partnership and all you gotta do is follow your north star.......oh not to forget gratitude and patience, two of the most important ingredients for long distance greatness
