Different people interpret things differently , but I had the idea the "guy at the door" was the bouncer at a strip club where the older woman he loved worked. That was why they had been through it before. He couldn't let him in because he was under-age.
Love this song.
One of my favourite things is keeping it simple presentation - just the artist and a guitar can be wonderful. And it works tremendously for this song ... so heart felt. I can relate!
Hi Don, in the Tyler song you did 2 days ago "Purgatory", he mentioned he was dating a 25 year old woman when he was only 18, wonder if both are about the same woman? Although he said " Oneida" was a 'much' older woman. I guess maybe it depends on your defnitio of must, IDK.-----UTCM
Once again another great one 👍
I cried at the crescendo
A well written song about the pain of first love and ending up being used by someone in my opinion. There is a sadness there that is genuine!
You are in love with Jason Isbell and Tyler Childers. Me too. Love M I L F at times too lol. Serious…good song man!
Sounds like something he may have noticed when playing in a bar, and decided to write a song about it.
There was a good song, I think it was “ Me and Mrs. Jones”, where the musicians explain it was about a man and woman who weren’t married to each other, meeting in a restaurant regularly. The musicians used to eat there when they were employed to write songs, and noticed them meeting there.
Any Zach Bryan reviews???
@ddeenis77 I had done a few (including “Felker”), but after he signed to a label I took down the ones I had up (or they became blocked). I may try some again once things settle. TH-cam doesn’t give us a lot of info so we’re kind of flying blind.
