    Oh, really sorry about the audio, (Sheepishly) I forgot to plug my mic in, I know, I'm an idiot. 😁

    Mate, you have helped me fix an issue with my TS-LS Positioner since I bought the darn thing 4+ years ago. It kept binding towards the front. No matter what I did and who I spoke to (including Incra Support), I could not get it to stop binding. I was tightening the middle arm when it was fully extended. I had to rely on the tighening clamp to square up my fence, which was not always 100% great. Thanks so much and I have no idea why it took TH-cam so long to suggest this video when I searched for this type of videos every 6-9 months looking for suggestions. Thanks a million!

    Actually. You're supposed to bring the fence up close to the blade and use the micro adjust to move the fence into the blade until it just is touching it. Then lock it down. And then reset your scale to zero. Also then rest your micro wheel back to zero. There are many videos showing this. Using a rule to measure it like did I'd truly not accurate. Or not precise
    Good videos

    A thorough and enlightening tutorial Graham - thank you very much indeed! I followed your process and set up my TS-LS Positioner and one aspect escapes me - and that is the methodology (using a piece of paper) to tilt the fence towards or away from the blade and where that shim is best placed. Again, thank you from a newly-subscribed viewer in Texas -

      Hi Dingo, thank you and glad the vid was some help. Regards the Shim,I always place it / them right above / below the bracket on the Sliding Rail to start, one on each side. I can then move them up or down to increase / decrease the amount of movement required. 👍

    6 years with this system, on a 12 year old rigid portable saw, and it cuts plywood to the accuracy of a cabinet saw. I would never go back to my original cheap fence.

    You've probably forgotten more than I'll ever know about working with a table saw, but I have a couple of questions please. First, why didn't you use the micro adjustment knob when setting the final fence distance to the blade? Second, why do you use a tape measure to check for correct measurements of a cut instead of a steel rule, a 90° square, or calibers?

    Bought the LS positioner only metric version, (still waiting on it however) to use with a custom fence that will ride along on 16mm ball bearing linear rails. The self supporting kind, typically used for CNC machines.

    Thanks Graham, that was really helpful. I followed you all the way up to the step where you square the fence to the table top. @GTWoodshop  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Max, thank you. I used the paper to tilt the fence forward by slipping it in at the top of the fence bracket, and the reverse by slipping it in at the bottom. Works a treat. 👍

    • @bartschutte1619
      @bartschutte1619 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, incra has an instructional DVD which shows squaring the fence to your table. They're not showing it on the TS LS specifically but that doesn't really matter, you still get an idea of how it works. It's uploaded to YT, and you can find that particular part of the video here: th-cam.com/video/rHFkQHYkZO4/w-d-xo.html. Hope it helps!

  • @bartschutte1619

    Hi! Thanks for sharing this, really helpful! 👍 Glad to hear I'm not the only one a little daunted by this. I'm almost through setting up mine and I've chosen to mount everything on the left of my saw blade, to have my blade tilt (which is to the right) away from the fence. The thing that really confuses me is that by doing so there seems to be no other way than having the micro adjust upside down. Maybe I'm still missing something.. WDYT?

    • @GTWoodshop
      @GTWoodshop  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Bart, I'm not sure how you would be able to use it upside down, the lock lever would also be upside down. Are you not rotating it 180 degrees horizontally?. I think I would be inclined to use Jessem hold downs as opposed to working with the fance assembly on the left, doesn't feel natural.

  • @WasimBarri

    Loved the video Graham but I'm confused on one issue. You used spacers when installing the anti lift glides but when you moved the fence closer to the positioner (says 4" in the manual ) to tighten the fence down you didn't use spacers. Won't that make the height of the fence above the table uneven?

    • @GTWoodshop
      @GTWoodshop  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi John, no because by that time the fence is supported by the glide brackets at the height. 👍

  • @1768ify

    Fantastic review, and now I'm going to buy one for my Makita 2704. How does the board mount in? I will probably centralise mine a bit more for stability, so will need some board either side of the saw bed as it's not that big. Just brackets I presume? Thank you
