    Hi
    Thanks for great updates on gear hands on!
    Would you recommend the gong veloce xxl pro clear as a allround downwind foil, maybe for winging as well?
    If choosing the gong veloce xl pro clear for winging, would that possibly work for downwinders as well?
    Im 84kg looking for one foil for both downwinders in higher wind and also winging in waves.

      Hey, thanks first of all! I'm not sure if I would recommend it. I'm 85 kg so we are the same weight. It does definitely work as an allrounder for winging in waves and downwinding as well, but I think there are new shapes that have a lower stall speed, yet a higher top end and less drag overall, making them better suited for both disciplines. So I would recommend you to get the newer version of the Veloce/ Fluid instead of the old version. I'm probably switching to the Fluid XLH/ XXLH as I want to get more speed and glide downwinding. The old Veloce XXL is impressivly fast for a 1900 sqcm Foil, yet way slower than most of the newer models in the xxl options... I hope that helps :)

      Really? The new véloces are thicker! And gong says that as well! They wanted it with better stall speed and and more comfortable! More difference to the more expensive high aspect to sell more of those I might think! I use the v1 vXXL for supfoil most of the time and try the fhxxl to get more distance in the moment and I am up to buy the vhxxl to better even that in glide and speed but fear that it could be too complicated to ride like my try on the fhxl! That was just more complicated to ride but not faster than the vl v1! The fhxxl is better for pumping and faster than the vxxl but also more complicated to ride in waves! Haven't tried a DW without wing yet! Not often to get the right conditions for DW on Sylt and not easy not to choose the less complicated wing version instead! Thx

    Why It doesn’t even look windy? 25 knots here is rollercoaster riding mountains

      I think it's because the Ostsee at this spot is more like a big lake than the ocean, so there is way way way less fetch to create waves. When I was in Portugal and we had west winds of 20 knots the Ocean created 10 foot wind swells too : D But I'm glad it didn't get super big, even the Day before with up to 45 knots only had max 1.8 m Waves, and I think I can't handle Rollercoaster riding Mountains yet :D

    Hey Leo , firstly thanks for sharing your experience , I am in no position of giving suggestion of any kind actually but I have seen recently that people are able to catch waves paddling with swim paddles , I saw them using narrower boards, but being able to do it while on your knees it should be so muich easier. What do you think about it ?

    • @leo-stief

      I've seen a lot of guys doing it and I really want to try it in the waves! I think It could be an amazing way to skip the annoying learning curve paddling up and standing on the board. It could really drastically reduce the frustration potential, but I don't know how hard it is to generate power only with the hands so I need to try it bbefore I really judge it : )

    Warum nicht mit deinem 1350 unterwegs?

    • @leo-stief
      @leo-stief ปีที่แล้ว

      Ich war am Tag danach bei viel weniger Wind und Welle mit dem 1350 unterwegs und da war er geil, glaube aber für mehr Welle und Wind brauchts was schnelleres, auch was schnelleres als das Foil was ih hier benutzt habe... : )
