That's very devisive rather than advocating for unity. Nigeria is a beautiful and rich country, so are the people. It can be even better. There are examples of countries that have proven to be able to live in peace despite their different ethnicities. I think all those three ethnic groups have strengths that can be utilized to make your country great.

Thanks for this video. I’m Cameroonian, from the NW region that borders what would be Biafra and my people are suffering a similar plight towards the road to sovereignty. Ive heard so many biased accounts of what the true history is and after everything I’ve experienced with my country, I just knew they were false. I’m glad I found this video.

In light of this history plus what is happening today I don't believe restructuring is a viable option. I mean let's face it - you basically said it - Fulani/North will never agree to anything other than total domination. After all Nigeria was handed to Fulani by the British from the beginning of its formation. Abeg let's go back to who we were on our own thriving for over 5000 years - Biafra. Period. 🙏🏽

It is obvious that the 1966 coup d'état destroyed Nigeria. However, contrary to what Sir Ahmedu Bello said. It was never a question of Igbos dominate / monopolize any tribe, or region in Nigeria. Not the East, South, West, and definitely not the North. The reality is that, the Igbos are blessed with an exceptional mindset of business development and education. Wherever the Igbos find themselves they display the art of creativity, particularly in business investments, growth, development, expansion and sustainability. That is an Igbo man for you. It is in our blood to be productive and successful at any level, anyway we are. It's not our fault. We use our creativity effectively.

  • @dadajulius6489

I am Yoruba by tribe but had my earlier years in a Western Country. I have read extensively about the Biafran War and events that led to the War.
I find it very provocative for Ahmedu Bello to say that the Igbos wanted to dominate way back then ! This man is a typical Fulani man that believes in taking control no matter what. The typical Igbo man is very industrious and this kind of brought hatred and jealousy towards them. The Igbos believe in making a living through business anywhere they choose to go. Unfortunately, the Igbos are Christians which the typical Hausa Fulani dislikes.
Ahmadu Bello lied by saying that Northerners would not be employed in other Regions. The other Regions were far more accommodating than the core North and that's a fact ! The coupe of January 1966 was tagged an Igbo coupe because the Eastern Political leaders targeted then survived for various reasons. This made the core North to believe it was a tribal coupe. They ignored the fact that a Yoruba man (Ademoyegun) was a member of the coupe plotters. Akintola that was Yoruba was killed but the Northerners ignored it. Ekoti-Ebo was not from the North yet he too was killed.
I am a lover of History and I must say it that the British caused these problems. The counter coupe was what triggered the genocide against the Igbos. After slaughtering many Military Officers of Igbo extraction, the core North went further to begin killing the Igbos residing in the North.
Unfortunately Ojukwu wasn't ready for the War even though he didn't have a choice than to declare a secession.
I totally dislike the Fulanis in particular due to their "radical take by force" attitude. I vowed NEVER to have a Hausa Fulani friend again when my friend's Father was killed by them when I was living in Kaduna during the Zangon Kataf crises !
If this country is to stay as one entity some kind of restructuring MUST be done. The high level of agitation for self determination in the South East and now in some parts of the South West is already sending warning signals.
Well-done to this Lady that made this video. It's very informative. The present Fulani controlled Government will NEVER want this part of Nigeria's History to be taught in Schools in the country for obvious reasons. Once again, Kudos to you for this informative video.👍

Hardworking Igbo’s being labelled by Ahmadu Bello as domineering.
Their policy is still the same today, he made it clear that is a Northerner first and all decisions, policies are permanent, this is why Nigerians cannot achieve collaborative partnership as it stands hence we should be encouraged and supported to our own self determination

The North was very educated before the British colonized. The North had their own State, organized functioning government and a thriving economy. The North attempted to fight the British but were overcome. It's unfortunate that the British manipulated everyone.

this story is soo one-sided. I'm a southerner myself but this war is due to the Igbos not being diplomatic. they kicked start the series of coup d'etat that greatly hindered Nigeria's progress. instead of showing a love for the country by so doing winning the heart of the people so they stand a chance at elections, they decided to force out a government of the majority. that didn't work, so they called for war. and persisted because the french fed them false hopes on winning the battle. they wanted to control the sea and the oil which are essential to Nigeria's economy and you expected Nigeria to say, o well here you go. have it? its greed and the want for power that led to the death of all those people. there is no federation in the world today that would allow a secession. the United States, India, Brazil, Mexico, Russia, Germany, Canada, Switzerland, Argentina, Australia etc.
even today the same story is still going on, there is no real reason why Biafra agitators are still around if not hate, want for power and religion. it is such a selfish course that it really Buggles me on how people don't realise that if Biafra succeeds it will kick start an entire series of tribes in different African countries wanting to become their own country. millions more will die for selfish reasons. we all need to embrace nationality and let tribalism go. which is why I do not agree with you saying you are an Igbo first before a Nigerian. let us take lessons from our history and take a page from Rwanda before we kill ourselves away. at the end of the day, the British and the french will still take over our lands once we are no more.

I was taken aback a little by that, too, but she has the right to her opinion. However, knowing what I have learned about some of what was going on behind the scenes, running away for him was quite understandable. Even Mandela ran for his life (to Biafra btw) as have most other freedom fighters historically.
