- CHIHUAHUA, MEXICO - Is this the CLEANEST city in Mexico? Welcome back to another Mexico Travel 2021 video! This is part 13 of my 2021 Mexico series coming from Chihuahua in northern Mexico!
In the last video I had a nightmare. An awful pizza which everyone recommended, 35km of walking, Mennonite communities with seemingly not a human in sight and an unintentional overnight stay in Cuauhtemoc. This time we are going with the flow. We’re having a leisurely stroll around Chihuahua Centro, checking out some of the things to do in Chihuahua with various spots with history relating to Miguel Hidalgo such as the Palacio Federal or Casa Chihuahua, the Templo el Francisco Asis, the government place, plus Quinta Gameros (closed) and the bizarre mannequin at a bridal shop which is said to be an embalmed corpse! (not on display). We also have hamburguesas al carbon and elotes (also esquites when it's on the cob!), great examples of affordable mexican street food!
The main gist of this video is chilling out and how I have got around my youtube burnout issues recently. Recommendations are great but they don’t necessarily translate into filming a TH-cam video. These two things are completely different!

Hi everyone! I'm alive! (you'll know what I mean after the last video!). This video is a continuation from that video. The good news is, my burnout has been resolved via a burnt burger in a burnt out building! Note that I KNOW Chile Pasado is a common dish in Chihuahua but a) I had it on another day but didn't really like it, and b) the whole point of this video is that the things we actually want to do which aren't recommendations are sometimes the best things!
Note that I've already left Chihuahua and I'm currently filming in Torreon. There's going to be a small break between travel videos now due to this, you can expect the next big travel one on Saturday 7th August, FROM GOMEZ PALACIO!

Im from Chihuahua City I have been in New York for 30 years and let me tell you I cried when I saw this video, so many memories of my childhood, The City looks totally different of what I remembered. Have a safe trip back home and take care of yourself. Greetings from New York City.
I used to live behind the Quinta Gameros, on Calle de La Llave, when I was a kid. It was a museum back then. We used to sneak in jumping the wall close to the back fence. I remember there were tarahumara art, clothing, photographs and even skeletons in a basement used as storage. As far as the street burgers..., there's lots of them as well as burrito stands

Me gusta Chihuahua, pero no lo tiene todo. Un pequeño ejemplo es la gastronomía, no tienen gastronomía. Es un Estado bonito, pero es algo aburrido.
@@shaddaioreb disculpa? Qué en chihuahua no haya casi puestos ambulantes de comida y los pocos que hay sean de hamburguesas o de elotes(gente que son del sur de México) no se ignifica que no tengamos gastronomía.

Tenemos gastronomía pero para probarla tendrías que ir a los ranchos o a una casa de un chihuahense, los chihuahense no vendemos nuestra comida en puestos de la calle, nos gusta el orden.

Finding things by yourself and discovering without knowing it was there is one of the best things in travel. Don't feel pressure to visit everything, every traveler should create their own experience. BTW, after traveling to Europe I notice how terrible pizzas are in Mexico.

I'm from Chihuahua and have moved out of the city twice, one of the things that I have always say to my friends is that you notice how clean and organized is the city once you visit different places and citys.
Also one of the things that I missed the most were elotes 😅😂

Wow that was fantastic! The stormy skies really enhanced the effect. Loved what you said and you’re so right about it all! That burger looked MUCH more appetizing than any meal in a fancy restaurant where expats dine! (Also, eating it where you did is much more comfortable than being in a ritzy restaurant!) Sharing your childhood memories was such a nice touch. Am happy you’re going to go where you want, eat what you want, and follow your heart in what you film. Thank you David - another wonderfully nostalgic video! Chihuahua looks cleaner and generally more orderly than I remember it in the early 90s. I had the best torta I have ever eaten at a hole in the wall place in Chihuahua in 1993. I would never find it again, and it probably isn't even there anymore, but it was amazing!

I just came from La Paz and it was the cleanest city I have ever seen. Not a scrap of litter even in the less desirable areas. No homeless. No crime to speak of. Just incredible. ❤

I will miss you greatly when you go back to your normal life. You are right, people here in Mexico ignore the places or things you have shown in your videos. They say, TE FALTO'. Thanks Elvia! Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere!! There will still be videos as normal. I'm going to be doing travel videos in whatever country I end up in and will also be doing filming trips, for example to Moscow, to bulk film over a week. Travel will still be a thing! And you never know, my Polish citizenship may not be approved so I may end up back in Mexico!
Hello again David. Europe is SOOO gorgeous. Another amazing place is the road or high way along the Rhine river with all those beautiful villages I would think that date from the medieval times. I was fascinated with the different designs of the castles and churches..the vie is SPECTACULAR.

Without anybody recommending it you found one of the hidden gems in Chihuahua, those "Hamburguesas al Carbon" (El Papillon) have been there for over 20 years (I'm thinking it's probably going on 50+ years now; not sure) and have stood the test of time. This was a great video and regarding the "falto" thing, you're 100% right, it's a recommendation and our language lacks the negative connotation that "missing out" on something implies, but you do you my guy, people will all have their favorite places, foods and experiences but we also have a saying in our culture "para gustos colores", You can think of it as a twist on "to each his own".

Deberías visitar también: el cañón de namurachi, las barrancas del cobre, creel, el divisadero, el cañón de urique, la Cascada de Basaseachi, Cañon del Peguis etc..
También deberías probar aquí en la ciudad el platillo llamado "Montados", es como un burrito con carne y verduras, es muy delicioso, te lo recomiendo!!

What's up David! I was born in Cuauhtemoc and currently live in Chihuahua, and I can relate to the recommendations ending as a catastrophic experience. Thanks! Yes although recommendations can be so useful and over the years I know Mexicans particularly offer them in good faith because they want foreigners to experience everything, but it's not always possible!

This was such a cool video man!, you show both sides of the city, people often think northern Mexico is just dust and cactus, they don’t know we have some of the biggest and most advanced cities in the country. Hope you enjoyed your stay. Did you pass through Periférico de la juventud? That’s where the most money in Chihuahua is invested.

Great video. Absolutely spot on with the ex pat channels. I was watching one thinking it was a travel vlog and they were just talking about the difficulties and blah blah blah. I like your videos as you show the real Mexico (or wherever you are), not like those boring generic couples filming high end places. I also remember in the 90’s, when I travelled for 15 month round the world. I was sitting outside Sydney Opera House and a local said I must be having a great time. I just nodded, but that particular day I was feeling pretty crap.
OMG! I had a similar experience at Sydney Opera House in 2001! Two friends and I had just arrived from somewhere, maybe Bangkok, and it was one of those nightmare flights with a long connection. We forced ourselves to immediately go to the Opera House. I fell asleep in front of it. LOL. Fortunately I went back about 15 years later to see it when awake! LOL

I'm from Chihuahua and I couldn't explain the way this video made me feel, as I've been far from home for a long time too, traveling as well maybe not as much as you are, I had the fortune of living for few months in your country too, lovely people and I wish I could the same about your food lol, anyways thank you for making Mexico as great as it actually is.
