    One night I suddenly remembered being in an online choir, so I tried to see if it was on TH-cam, and here it is! I was only 7, I remember my mom having me memorize the lyrics to this song, and one day, though I was in a rush for my dance class, my mom filmed my video, right in front of a door with good lighting. Some time later, I got to see the video, and was amazed that I was singing with so many other kids around the world, just with a video

    I remember almost graduating high school and hearing about the virtual youth choir. I JUMPED on the opportunity and submitted it as soon as the submissions opened. Absolutely love that I'm in there somewhere! I've met Eric on a couple of occasions and absolutely an amazing talented and humble man. Still my absolute favorite composer to this day. I look forward to your next projects Eric!

    okay i already thought the concept of strangers coming together and making something beautiful was amazing...but when you add CHILDREN to that concept...game over. PERFECTION

    The reason that this song is simplistic and short is because it is made for youth, not adults. When it comes to composing a song for a choir and demanding such a broad amount of people, you will need it to be simplified without many intricacies. This was written considering children vocalists, as well as teenage vocalists, but you can't expect an elementary student to sing a high school level piece. Putting such a work together like this is hard enough, but what makes it harder is putting together the amount of voices that contributed. This is by far outstanding and very well put together.

    Joy, incarnate. I hope he will be around for a long time to come. I wish this piece had gone one for much much longer!
    Guess I will listen to it again, and again. I agree it could have been longer, BUT, part of the beauty of this is it comes off all too short and makes you wonder, What If....

    • @DownhillAllTheWay
      @DownhillAllTheWay 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      OfficialIlluminatiGames "yes, I'm American". That's what I thought.
      OK, I guess I'll have to explain it then. "Virtual youth choir" can be interpreted two ways - (1) a youth choir that is virtual (ie - not an actual group of people singing together), or (2) a choir of virtual youths.
      Now do you get it? My comment was "Whatever a virtual youth is, they certainly sing well together."
      It's a JOKE.

  • @Fourthircondirst
    @Fourthircondirst 9 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    To be honest this is kind of expected. One must compose a catchy yet simple piece for children and teenagers because if it's too complicated and the voice leading is too advanced, it could take forever for a child to get down the chords and harmonies as precise as a simplistic piece.

    • @RhiannonCaswell
      @RhiannonCaswell 9 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Well for children yes but many teenagers have the ability to sing more complex pieces, especially those who are in their school's choral program. Granted some teenagers can't. But I know plenty of very gifted singers who happen to be 17 or younger :)

    If you have 2000 voices to play with, you DON'T NEED A SYNTHESIZER...

    • @StatikDynamikDubstep
      @StatikDynamikDubstep 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      You say that as if anyone thought the purpose of a synthesizer is to replace voices, or as if voices are somehow more important. Neither does the others job and neither is incompatible with the other. Stop being a stuck up purist. Obviously you don't have to like it because it has synths in it, and I don't expect you to. Obviously people don't write music with the intent of everyone liking it. What if it had been given an orchestral arrangement with the same music? A synthesizer is just an instrument. A voice is an instrument. Drums, strings, brass, woodwinds are all instruments. They all are used for musical expression, and each has a place and a purpose. They can be combined in an infinite number of ways to compliment each other. That's what music is. Did the synthesizer somehow take away from the voices? They're still heard and still beautiful. You can not like it and still not object to its use. There's a major difference between "I don't like the synthesizer" and "you don't need the synthesizer." The only reason for your objection to it that I can come up with is that you're being pretentious. And nobody likes a pretentious person.
