The last game was actually so interesting and clever. Given that the story was of a man cheating on his wife, the use of roses was very well done. The very first level uses a red rose, which represents love and is the color that you would give to your lover. The next few levels have yellow roses, which are used to represent jealousy. And the very last level uses a black rose (which technically don't exist). Black roses in theory represent tragic romance and heartbreak.

If you think about it every horror movie build up the same way besides games where you try your best to predict the unexpected which is almost not possible which I can sorta handle but not taking the risk.

A really strange detail... the pills, the "sedative" that was in the bottle he picked up: not only were they not sedatives, they were actually diet pills. Both garcinia cambogia and green coffee bean extract are used to suppress appetite, the caffeine from the latter will actually have a stimulating (opposite of sedating) effect, and the calcium is added to some garcinia cambogia containing supplements to prevent bone density loss when dieting. I really don't get this because it's so very specific that it can't have been put there by mistake, but it also doesn't seem to have any possible story applications. I mean if it was like, desoxyn, but that was crossed out and someone wrote "Sleeping Pills" on the bottle that could be like a "they went crazy from sleep deprivation from taking meth when they were trying to sleep" kind of thing but that diet supplement wasn't intense enough to make someone go crazy, and it wasn't even written on the bottle, the character just incorrectly identified it as a sedative. So maybe that's a clue...? Anyone else got any ideas?

i love how in The Black Rose it comes back together in the end and you find out you were the man you saw at the start. i also love how since you now know that you can put the pieces together of what may have happened to him (remember "i could just eat you up" and the screaming). also i love how the rose changes into the black rose and it almost seems as if the place isn't real and the lady just created it so she could trap you in an infinite loop. i love the looping mechanics on games and when they change little bits at a time each time you go through it. i really love how this one comes together and even though it's not a huge ending you can piece it together and form the bigger picture. when games let you work out what happened and still give you enough help along the way, it's so good to me (:

I like how the roses change from red, to yellow, to black. The rose colour is a symbol of the player's character's relationship with their partner. A Red Rose means love and passion. A Yellow Rose means platonic friendship, or wishing someone to "get well". Finally a Black Rose means farewell or death. From close loving partners, they drifted due to the main characters affairs/cheating till they split apart, from the looks of it leading the main character's life into a depression full of regrets.
Fun fact about the roses in the game: Red means passionate love, Yellow means jealousy, And black means the end/death of something (like the relationship.

That last one gave me flashbacks to that one game Mark played years ago, where you had to rob a place while a lady ghost was chasing you, and how the first time he played it he was flirting with her the whole time because she was attractive and not scary. Then people got him to play it again after an update where they turned her into a floating head XD

I'm mostly impressed by how well they used the meaning of each roses in "The Black Rose" game Red rose - love Yellow rose - Jealousy, or lack of love Black rose - "You're forever mine" And I like how at the end it shows you (the player) was a man at the very beginning of the game this whole time which, I kinda knew this was gonna happen but still I really like it
Maze Yeah there are many other different meanings that includes “friendship” or “perfect achievement”, or it could also mean “perfect love” but the first meaning for yellow rose is “Jealousy” and “lack of love” so people often say do not give yellow roses to the love ones
I love The Black Rose. I still think it's one of the best games with a looping mechanic. I also liked that it made it a bar rather than a home like so many other PT clones, and it did have a story to tell.

Didn't the similar thing happened to PewDiePie? Eventually you just know the base concept and get used to it. It is also why Mark is intrigued when a horror game breaks the expectations of a normal horror game(although, those games might end up pretty weird)
I think this game is kind of an extending metaphor of what it’s like to be old. A lot of older people are put in nursing homes when their families can no longer care for them. They feel locked up and they are confused and alone. If I’m right and the older person in the first game has something like dementia, they could’ve forgotten where they were completely and not known that they’re in their own house.
Locked in was fantastic you're literally just walking back and forth for the whole game but it really uses the small space amazingly even know you know each room your still hesitant to enter the rooms or move from what you can see

And I like how at the end it shows you (the player) was a man at the very beginning of the game this whole time

I think this game is kind of an extending metaphor of what it’s like to be old. A lot of older people are put in nursing homes when their families can no longer care for them. They feel locked up and they are confused and alone. If I’m right and the older person in the first game has something like dementia, they could’ve forgotten where they were completely and not known that they’re in their own house.
