HEYYY...this is Doug, welcome to my comment! I am not sure why but I usually remember pieces almost the first time I playing it through. But if it has not got a counterpoint line, I have a harder time for some reason. haha pretty sure Bach had it in for Bassoonists! Bach called him a buffoonist! 🤣🤣
I like this spin off show😂
Bassoon story was insane. Thanks for the edits of the stuffy documentary narrators for us
Any time! 😄
" I wanna get my hands on that organ." Damn near spewed my coffee on that one! 😂
lolol yeah😂
That Sergei Gudelev is a wonderful player. I like how his body flows in a way that seems merged with the music itself. I enjoyed the piece he played too, loaded with cool stuff. And the Bach's bassoon story: yeah, a "greenhorn" or when someone's "green" to something. I think my old dad would've conveyed that notion to me. The fight between Bach and Geyersbach: cool, like two rock bands of the day going at it. And me, I break wind every time I eat green onions. Doesn't everyone? On a serious note, if that's true about Bach, that he couldn't grasp with empathy the serious problem his arrangement posed for bassoon, it suggests an egoistic rigidity - as you suggested, maybe he could be a jerk, arrogant, etc. And on the other hand, so much of his music feels spiritual, but that could be because I experience it that way. I'm curious about his personal relationship with music, on an emotional level. I know he wrote a lot for the church but that doesn't mean much by itself, it was a job for him. I loved the story of Bach bringing in a "strange woman" to "make music" with. Make music, yes, I see. ;)
The Presto is getting much smoother. I can play most of it but at about half the speed you're playing it. Keep it up! Probably my favorite Bach suite ❤
Thank you😄
That bassoon drama 😆
Bach was such a bad-ass! Which begs the question, was he more a rule-breaker than a rule-maker?
lol so true😄
Another listening candidate I think many may appreciate.
Caprice No.24 N.Paganini played by Su Meng
The video is a little blurry (a live stage performance) but the sound is great and I think she plays it as good as anyone does, the legato variation at 2m40 is so smooth.
It was posted 16 years ago (phew) when she was younger so much younger than today.
It’s in the docket! 😄
Do u have study in b minor somewhere on channel?
I do not, I’ve only looked at that a few times
@@Sorhands can i request it?
Hey man, who is your teacher?
Christopher berg but not since 2020. I’ll have a new one come this spring :)
how do i get a star
You gotta reply to the comment that I left on the daily listening, then a star is awarded (full rule list in the discord)
This guys pretty good at guitar he should go pro
🥲
One can only wonder why Bach hated Gayisbach... 🤔
From writing difficult basoon pieces to drawing the rapier and calling him what was that again? 😂😂
lol yeah, something about green onions?
The "strange girl" is his cousin so it's fine I'm sure 😊
Composer moment
ahhhhhh! Bach! first of many to write torturous parts for jerk bassoonists, i guess :P
