So I picked up a vbax back in April, and in rewatching this video, I noticed a change. In my vbax, the pull tab guys through the leather, preventing it from being pulled out unless you intentionally try to remove it.
@@walletopia overall, I have no objections to its durability. That said, I rotate my wallets frequently, so it's not an EDC. I'll also admit that it isn't my favorite wallet unless I just really need something tiny, due to the bending it puts on my quick access card.

I just bought the Vbax a week ago after seeing your Trove review. just as you suggested in the video, to see if I liked the form factor as I wasn't sure and didn't want to try out the $50 version. I like it very much however, when using the longer pull tab, when pushing the cards ( i have 2 there) down the front leather/suede piece bunches and the cards don't want to push down nicely. Was hoping you'd say something about that with the trove. It may be because it's made with smoother leather that he cards fall right In to place when pushing them down. My vbax doesn't. Thanks again for the reviews. Time to figure out what colors for the trove!
Thanks Matt, good find, I didn't experience that problem with the VBAX, but I can see how that can happen due to the thinness of the strap and length. The Trove folks have figured out the perfect length for it.
walletopia ok, just got my Trove. Man, what a difference in fit and finish. The Vbax is definitely a nice cheaper option. Not real sure the trove is worth $50ish but I do love it. I'm always looking for minimalist wallet and this one separates things nicely with the 3 compartments. 2 QuickDraw cards for me and the other is a cash holder on that side. All the rest of the cards on the opposite side. The leather is nice on the Trove and the strap is light years better on the Trove. My vbax square is made of a felt material (not leather) and the cards do not slide well when using the tab. On the trove they slide down very smoothly. And you nailed it in the review, the pull tab being made of metal or a magnet is the perfect material for it. Feels great. On the Vbax it's just a folded piece of the strap. And it hangs a little too long as well. The Trove is great and my new favorite wallet. Thanks for the reviews and selling me on one.
I'm always going to spend the extra money to buy the original wallet. I never support companies that try to make their profits by ripping off the designs and ideas of other companies. I can't decide if I even like the idea of you reviewing these knockoffs.. Yeah, I don't like it. Now, onto the Kohlesack ;)
I’m in the UK, so the Swift is the one I’d go for to support a local maker. The Swift is the first one I found as well so that’s kinda the one I’d prefer. I look forward to your Trove Cash Wrap review coming up in March 👌🏻🙂

@@matthollis1270 Glad you like it! It is far superior and will serve you very well. The leather develops a patina pretty quick and looks great.

The TROVE yes, the VBAX, it will likely last a while too, but the elastic and leather on the TROVE are top quality.

These are interesting wallets, not sure how good they are for cash
If you're okay with folding cash over twice they work great.
