Having seen 50 or more videos by Steve, I have to say one of my favorite parts is when I'm introduced to yet another Lavimoniere Apparatus! I think my favorite is still the Gain Bottle Oil Line Smag Apparatus, just because of the nice, satisfying "thunk" it makes when the smag is blown from the line into the Gain bottle, but the Kitchen Sink Hose Attachment Apparatus shown in this video is awesome, too! Such ingenuity, born of decades of professional plumbing and a facility with tools and equipment!
Great Job Steve, I am not a plumber and now I understand why you must call one and not try this by yourself. In 10 minutes you show off well-earned years of experience and knowledge. Thanks!
I like that water hose clamped to the sink faucet, no need to source elsewhere and bring it in. I like the coupling clamp, too, I've wondered how some would be reassembled. Good job.
I had same problem in my Kitchen sink. The metal pipe in wall was much bigger, bout 2"ID. Easy fix to clean the hard junk out of it. Problem fixed. Been fighting it for years, lol. Thanks
I don't understand why there is food in the kitchen sink because there is no garbage disposal so of course, it's going to get clogged? Why are they even putting food/grease down here to begin with? Install a garbage disposal or stop? Then again, I have far more clogs since I got the garbage disposal. Great video. Simple and to the point. Ditto on the jackrabbit chillin' out at the end. Loved it.
Another better idea is to use a high power transfer pump from harbor freight. That will push the debris out of the pipe including all sediment removed from ryobi automatic drain auger or manual snake auger
Crazy how I watched this years ago before i got into hvac now I’m watching your videos as a new hvac tech years later and I didn’t realized this was you 🤣🤣
I had the same problem with my kitchen sink. Finally unclogged it but should have used a drill for the router. Would have gone faster and probably clearer. Very good vid, thanks for sharing.
Excellent job! Wish everyone installed that kind of soldered coppe pipe and rubber joints under all sinks! Wish the one I was working on right now looked like that!
Bruce Morris fuck that dude lol that just makes the job more of a pain in the ass than it already is. I prefer just unscrewing and replacing the seals and putting back together
@@kingjames4886 The rubber sleeve acts like a buffer between different metals. 1. the copper pipe and 2. the clamp looks like stainless steel. basically so they won't make contact with each other and cross contaminate which would cause corrosion. usually those rubber sleeves come with those types of clamps.
Thank you! I enjoyed this! I took off my pee trap? From my bathroom wall sink that has been completely stopped up for weeks. I use my main bsth sink but really want to use my bedroom sink again. So thinking something blocking in the little pee trap zI took it apart, then the back pipe came off the wall because the o ring was rusted. Nothing was in the pee trap so the clog is in the wall. I am 65 in heart failure so hard for me to do much. But knowing if I call a plumber and he will do what you are doing and I pay him a few hundred or so at least I know what I am paying him for. I find plumbing interesting.
I'm in my sixties, just called my local ace hardware for an auger, because my clog is in the wall. $30, attaches to my drill. My kid I'd picking it up in a couple of hours. WISH ME LUCK!
The question shouldn't be "why do you wear gloves?" it should be "why isn't everyone wearing gloves?" you come into contact with some really nasty and in most causes rotting food and chemicals in drains. Why would you want to touch that stuff with out gloves.
Flesh eating bacteria will live in a lot of places. I was once cleaning out my gutters by hand, they were wet with leaves and my hands started prickling and stinging. The little creepers were eating into my hand. Took a lot of scrubbing to get the stink off too. I use gloves from now on.
I don't have those tools & it seems like too much trouble for me; although I do obtain my own skill's as a lady, but this one is above my skills, LOL!!!
Great video, but I got a problem that the video doesn't address. I got a blocked sink, and the sewer line goes straight to another sink on the wall behind. I can't get my snake to go down the T to the main line. It keeps going straight across and coming out the other sink line on the other side of the wall. Any tips for getting the snake line to make the 90 and head down to the main line? Thanks!
Great video sir. Love the accent too. Yeah. I've done this with 50' of snake to one of our drains. Little bit of sediment but no snags or clogs. Drain ate the whole snake. Still, sometimes the washing machine emptying itself causes it to back up and I still don't have a good explanation for it. No roots in the pipe, nice and freely feeds the snake back and forth. I'm ... stumped. Let's see if it happens again. Might have to go pro for this one which is too bad. I have fixed every drain in the house myself except this one to the dry well.
I like your video, very useful for an issue I had, can you tell me what's the name of the tool that you were sort of 'drilling' from min. 6:20 sec. Looking forward to hearing from you, thnx in advance...
Won't do anything for the 2000 layer bacteril build up that forms in these laterals. I opened a 70 year old steel drain line yesterday. The 1 1/2 inch pipe had a water channel thru it of less than a half inch . Almost solid dead bacteria and calcium build up. That chain would have done nothing . Needed a cutter head.
YeeeAaa it's designed fuh coppa. Thanks for making this video. I'm gonna make one of those hose attachments before my wife flies off the handle about the sink. But I have PVC not coppa. Wish I had coppa.
Question may be silly but if snake didnt work would it be possible to put drano into a wall pipe like with a long funnel? Put a buck undeath the pipe to catch it if comes back out?
It was copper pipe. This suggests that it was built in the 1950s /60s. Copper was always expensive. It was replaced with ABS, then PVC, starting in the 1960s
Vinegar and baking soda mix. Things like draino and other chemical based cleaners might eat away at your piping if it sits or is used too frequently. Vinegar and baking soda help lift grim off the lining of your pipes via its fizzing action which can then be rinsed away with warm/hot water.
My kitchen drain pipe is in floor, how do i prevent back flow into my face? Is there a tip that blows forward only rather than a back and forth tip? Thanks
I watched this video from the beginning, your taking apart what looks like COPPER piping as you use the snake to pull out grime from within the pipe that's hidden in wall structure, and finally connect pipes and attach it using some gadget you say is copper emission {s}. You stand up and turn water on but when camera is focused back under the sink the the pipe is all White, did you leave something out or What ? Just Curious ..............
I did the same thing but I can't get through the wall, I cleaned out the pipe and put it back together. Failure. So, I guess I have to get something to go through the pipe, right? I would think so, I don't know. What can I use? A hammer and wire hanger?
Is that code anymore? or is it different for commercial? I thought you had to have a way to get into the trap without having to cut? It's fine now with that clamp of course - the place didn't look that old but what do i know lol

How far do you know how to go?
I love you all who post this stuff!! Huge big help! Thanks soooo much!!
Steven how do you know how far to feed the snake without it getting stuck?

What do you think of the Milwaukee m12 air snake for blowing out clogs?
It will blow air into the vent pipe or send the clog farther and clog it some more. Will only clear out a P Trap.

Steve do yo think a ridgid k400 is good for typical house calls like hair, or dried out cast iron pipes 1-1/2" or 2"
Is that pipe the right size? We do mostly 2 inch for kitchens here in NY. 1.5 is for bathroom sinks.

Vinegar and baking soda mix. Things like draino and other chemical based cleaners might eat away at your piping if it sits or is used too frequently. Vinegar and baking soda help lift grim off the lining of your pipes via its fizzing action which can then be rinsed away with warm/hot water.
5 gallon bucket filled with hot water from the tub spout. Pour in kitchen sink all at once. Repeat until all the grease is melted.
What about cleaning residue off inside of pipes that you can't remove isn't there a drill attachment and a nylon brush on a long flexible reel
Good job 👏👍👏
