- November 2021 - Took my son Miles on a Cross Country flight departing KSLC to Nephi Airport and back, about 2 hours round trip, with a "leg stretch" break in Nephi. Includes video of us taking off from Nephi and our landing Salt Lake City - Cessna 172. I'm working on my instrument rating out of Cornerstone Aviation in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Great Video man. I want to start bringing my 8 year old boy up with me but I feel "funny" about it. I am certificated at 65 hrs....my CFi tells me I will be ok. He keeps reassuring me I am very proficient and that I will be fine but I still feel jittery about it? Did you experience any of that?
A little jittery when i took my first passenger, but I'm over 100 hours now and trust my training and honestly just super excited to be with my boy up there! Just remind yourself of all of the hard work and advanced maneuvers that make an short scenic flight a walk in the park for you! Pick a familiar route for that first flight with your son and over time you will get more confident and can go on longer adventures! Soon he will be able to read all the instruments and will become a great navigator for you!
