  • I picked up a bobcat 873 and it needs some TLC, so here it is:
    Fuel filter replacement, Adjusting steering linkage, Alternator belt, fan belt tensioner, mounting new tires. problem solving gauges.
    Yes I know it needs an oil change, that just didn't make it onto camera.

    That fuel tank picup has a sefe disintegrating hose so I replaced mine with polyethylene black tubing to avoid the frustrating rough running and stalling problem. The Deutz engine has a timing belt that when it breaks will bend push rods and/or valves so it's a good idea to replace it every 2000 hours or 7 years which ever comes first.

    • @PossumKing
      @PossumKing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, it's due for timing belt. It has to wait til I have time this winter. Probably will end up removing the motor when I do it.

    Deutz has common issue with fuel pump leaking fuel into motor oil causing run away motor destruction..
    They also have a rubber timing belt needs replacing or bends valves..
    There are two small inline case drain filters off drive motor s need replacing or seals blow.
    Good job thanks

      @PossumKing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well I am at the point of pulling the motor out anyway. All the motor oil leaked out somewhere and I cant see where. Its 600+hr past due for timing belt and the whole machine needs reconditioned. Maybe I need to look into replacing a fuel pump for preventative measures. Thanks for the input. I have learned a lot from my first skidsteer.

    If you have points, I would not keep the key on continuously, it could fry the points - use an external power source to power the gauge.

    Can you adjust the speed by sliding the hand controller ? I have right side slower than right. I figured it was getting bad.. but wonder if you can adjust to make go faster.?

      Shouldn't they just be like a normal lid/truck shock? I never looked at them but I'm pretty sure you just pry the clip with a screw driver and they pop off. I'll look next time I'm working on it.
