  • In this video were going to go pick up a Caterpillar 259D3 Skid Steer. It needs to be cleaned and we need to flip the cutting edge. To clean the Cat Skid Loader, were going to get out the Hotsy hot water pressure washer. After that we will pull it in the shop and get to work on the bucket cutting edge.

    Hello Elliott, back in The 70’s I used to charge $100 plus whatever bolts cost😂🤘🏻🇺🇸

      Sheesh! $100 barely buys you lunch these days!

    Seeing more heavy equipment would be cool. And like a quick run down of operating them, like taking buckets on and off of they're a quick connect, or certain features that are unique to the "machine" (see, I did what you did on the video😂) would be cool to see or know

      Haha I was wondering if anyone watches Kyle’s channel that also watches mine! I’m sure I’ll have some heavy equipment footage this summer!

    Great video!…I have always been a staunch cat guy…every piece of equipment is caterpillar, my peterbilt has a cat engine, I have multiple cat hats…I’m no longer a cat guy once I bought my skid steer…needed one, bought the 289…it’s good…I hate it!….because of the stupid fold out door!…can’t get out unless the bucket is down…say you catch on fire and the bucket isn’t down…can’t get out!…release panel in the back…probably where the fire is!….besides that….if you could roll the door up, you could of lifted the bucket up and cleaned the allen holes out standing up, and worked on it at waist level or whatever…just like the cab open when working with or around people so you can hear…can’t do that with the cat skids….but it matches all my other gear so I keep it and I hardly ever get in it….worst piece of equipment to run in my opinion!

    • @EverythingElliott
      @EverythingElliott  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah I much prefer the roll up door, and not that I prefer a mono boom, but being able to exit off the side is really ideal

    I think you should bill out at $150-165/hr plus the cost of parts for this job. It’s all about knowing your worth. You take pride in your work and will get the job done right… the right customer will pay for it. Love your channel!

      Dang! I gotta up my prices! You’re right though the person that knows the level of work I complete would gladly pay for that assurance.

    I can’t hear the difference between mics. However it is clear as a bell. The heater is not that loud on my TV.

      Must just be my imagination, it sounds so loud to me, probably because it’s all I’m focusing on…

    Maybe adjusting the tracks

    • @EverythingElliott
      @EverythingElliott  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We actually did adjust the tracks on this unit but its so simple we didn't bother recording it. Its just a grease fitting on the track carriage that you pump grease into.

    Elliot, good video that would be pretty neat to see how to use one of those skid loaders. A question for you I doubt you know the answer if you was going to hire somebody to use the skid loader perhaps to take the hump out of your gravel drive and level that all out any idea how much something like that would cost let's say it's about 50 ft? Were any idea what it would cost to rent a skid loader to do that same sort of work? Thanks Michael

    • @EverythingElliott
      @EverythingElliott  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      prices are highly dependent on area, but a job like that in a skid loader would take an hour, most guys have a 4 hour minimum which in my area would run you around $600. Also in my area you can rent a skid steer for the day for $350. I would look into rentals in your area, you can get that job done and have time to accomplish other jobs with it as well.
