If SB made up Original Bubs then why is Onion Bubs guy a thing? Did SB combine a made up story with the very real story of regular Bubs temporarily replaced by an onion? It certainly explains why Onion Bubs looked like regular Bubs and not Original Bubs.

My favourite H*R video ever is still and will probably always be Coach Z's 110 %, but DING DANGIT, that freaking soundstage scene. Holy cantaloupe, it's the finest bit of work The Brothers Chaps ever did. Every single line of dialogue is hilarious and the comedic timing of both script and artwork is a frame-perfect blow-for-blow masterpiece. And yes, I'm assuming you know these characters from before when I say that! I'm not PLAYING fanboy over here!

I was questioning it when I found out about it. He's too childish to appreciate her, and she's too serious to enjoy his antics. This happens all too frequently in bad comedies, so I'm hoping this is supposed to be a deconstruction.

The more overthought answer I can come up with is that Homestar's naive, desperate, and forgetful over everyone who's wronged him, and Marzipan wants someone to exercise control over. They're also pretty much the only options for each other. Marzipan's the only girl (Homestar's sexual/romantic orientation is never confirmed but that was never really a concern so he's always been assumed to be straight), and every other male in FCUSA is either too detached from social norms even compared to Homestar (Strong Mad, Homsar, Senor Cardgage), too conniving (Bubs, Strong Bad), too egotistical and self-concerned (Strong Bad and Bubs again, Pom Pom, Strong Sad to a lesser extent), too... gross (Coach Z, the King of Town, the Poopsmith), or, apparently too declawed (The Cheat). Plus, Marzipan's constantly shifting activism agendas put her and a lot of the other characters at odds with each other (again, The Cheat being declawed, Bubs' numerous unethical practices, the King of Town eating every living thing on the planet, Strong Bad's constant animal abuse and acts of arson). Homestar is basically the only one who Marzipan can both theoretically manipulate and is evidently willing to repeatedly put up with Marzipan. Obviously he's imperfect enough to break up with her constantly but apparently has enough leeway to get numerous second chances. ...Or it's just that the characters will naturally adopt any roles that would be funny regardless of logic.
I wanna see the Steep Deep without any snow on it. You'd think a giant, pointy, Leaning Tower of Pisa-esc, stalactite would stand out more and we'd see it in the background now and again.
Homestar and the other armless characters must have some kind of telepathic way of doing things that require hands, much like the Goomba characters or pretty much every character from VeggieTales!
One of my cousins has almost ten years on his sister, so there was a lot of angsty teasing when she was little. She had a bunch of “VeggieTales” tapes that she watched ad naseum, which he’d make fun of to stave off insanity. I was over at their house once when she was watching one, and he said “If none of these characters have hands, why do the doors have doorknobs?” My aunt just shot him a death glare, as if to say “Don’t ruin this for her, you jerk.” XD
for some reason i always assumed this was an older toon. you dont usually see strong bad as a villain like he is in this toon except earlier stuff. nope. 2008!
