At one time I thought I like the sound of Cassiopeia and TSquare because their music sounds like late 80s early 90s VGM. I think I got that backwards...
Yup I think that's why Japanese jazz/fusion appeals to me so much, I grew up around Japanese game music.
Happened the other way around for me. Either way you make a good point about the connection, though.
