    I needed this. I need repentance, when I’m exposed to the world too much. And faith, to overcome the world. As Jesus said, in this world, you will have trouble. Take heart. I have overcome the world:
    I also need faith for daily living, and repentance when I drift to the right or to the left.

      @@binauralwaves4599 truth faith on the gospel and the lord of the gospel wiil lead you to repentance, that's to acknowledge your sins and guilt. Recognizing I have sinned all my life if I don't recognize my sins and guilt I wouldn't see the need to put my faith on jesus's and his gospel. What would I do it for? If I don't think or believe I am guilty, a sinner and worth of God's justice? I wouldn't do it, because I would believe I am not that bad and that God in any case is a loving type of grandpa that would forgive me just like that. Both are necessary to be saved for conversion. Then after that when you are reconciled you do confess your sins no to be saved but to wash your feet obviously if you're a true child of God you will feel the need of doing that because you won't feel ok knowing you failed once again. SO I STAND MY GROUND THAT FAITH WITHOUT REPENTANCE IS ARROGANCE. is like saying god I put my faith on jesus and what he did on the cross but I won't repent, I won't recognize I am guilty. See the inconsistency?
      Just like repentance alone doesn't forgive your sins or save no one. REPENTANCE WITHOUT FAITH IN THE GOSPEL AND THE LORD OF THE GOSPEL IS AN INJUSTICE.

    My understanding is that "repentance" means "a turning" in its simplest form. I believe repentance for salvation can be equated to faith. It is disingenuous to say we must repent of our sins (or as Ray has said, "stop sinning") to be saved. I haven't found New Testament Scripture that commands unbelievers to repent of their sin; that is impossible. The only context I find commands to repent of sin is directed to believers. Repent does not mean stop sinning, it means turn.

      Maya Day
      repenting means to grieve your sins and to change your mind from trying to buy salvation by doing good works to trusting/believing that Christ already bought your salvation by paying for all your sins. All you have to do is believe that he payed for your sins and he will put the payment to your account. Just like when Moses had the brass serpent on a cross and all the people had to do was look at it and they would not die.
      truly just believing Christ deity and that he died for your sins and you will have salvation. There’s no other way to have assurance that your saved. It’s not what you do for him but what he did for you.
      Ex. If I gave you $100 is that a gift?
      What if I gave you a $100 but had to promise to wash my car once a week for the rest of your life is it still a gift or are you working for the $100
      Salvation and rewards are separate in the bible.
      Salvation is a Free gift to the believers
      Rewards are earned by the believers who do good works.

    So much misunderstanding about what repentance is, and isn't. Repentance means to literally "change your mind". It's an attitude, not a type of works! What do you need to change your mind about in order to be saved? This is a perfect example of how believers should study to show themselves approved unto God. Take all the scriptures that talk about salvation and/or avoiding perishing and you'll get the BIG PICTURE.
    Verses like Acts 16:31 and Ephesians 2:8-9 tell us salvation is through faith and belief in Yeshua, not of any kind of works. Yet there are verses like Luke 13:3 which say you'll perish unless you repent. Also 2nd Cor 7:9-10 tells us godly sorrow (being sorry for sins) leads to repentance unto salvation. Additionally Romans 10:9 says confessing Yeshua as LORD is a requirement for salvation (and not just lip service, but genuine willingness to submit to God; a submissive attitude).
    Put all the pieces of the puzzle together, brethren! Repentance IS INDEED needed for salvation. One cannot be unwilling to turn from sin and be saved, because that would be living in defiance of God. That's like if a garden hose is being held out for you to wash your hands, if you deliberately keep your hands behind your back, they can't get washed. One needs to be WILLING to let go of sins and submit to God. Doing good works and avoiding evil is NOT repentance. Those are the FRUIT of repentance. Repentance is an attitude, a state of mind.
    Therefore, looking at the big picture, being sorry for sins leads to repentance, which in turn causes a person to put their faith and belief in Christ.
    It amazes me there are believers who would go so far as to accuse Ray, EZ and Mark of being unsaved. It shows ignorance more than anything. As said earlier, study to show yourself approved unto God. Take the entire counsel of God and interpret scripture in that fashion!

      I came out of the new age movement when trying to get closer to God orginally and when i came back around(i believe i was lead back) and was truly explained what Jesus did for me, i broke down. I felt terrible and thankful and guilty and cried a lot, uncontrollably. But im not sure if it lead to repentance because tho my mind changed about sin(i cant stand when i mess up, i cringe at certain things now, i think about God more than ever before, am literally scared to go to sleep feeling unsure about my salvation because of my fear for what He can do to me, it literally stresses me out, makes my chest hurt and all, ive gotten rid of all the things that represented new age and am more conscious wondering if that was right or wrong to God). I dont like sinning, because God doesn't like it now, but i still have trouble with things that r like hard to detach from...but starting to change now, but im like im still messing up and sinning. I read the bible two hours a day and was getting attacked really bad from it, but kept going. Try to apply, but doesnt always work. I honestly need to read it again...everyday. All of this back and forth confusion of sometimes feeling like im saved and sometimes not has me stressed and paranoid. I dont know what to do. I just would like if someone could explain the steps to knowing your truly saved in a way my brain truly understands.

      @@mayaday8538 How are you doing now? I hope God has shown you by now the answer. If you still don't understand, what you described was repentance, but you need to quit freaking out now because God has saved you, you need to calm down and trust God for Salvation. I reacted the same exact way when I got saved. I was crying for a week straight terrified of what God would do to me. He touched my heart and let me know everything was going to be okay, I trusted him and he worked out everything. You still will have struggles because of the old habits of the flesh trying to fight against you, but struggle is totally different from living in sin and not repenting. The struggle is a show that there has been a change in you, it doesn't mean you haven't repented, just things that God has to deal with you on and deliver you.

I agree with every thing you are saying above.. but if you continue to sin something is wrong ... I Believe Jesus Died for my sins, But I live a repentant life so I make sure, I want to see my Jesus on that Great Day! But we can agrue about this all day long because the Bible speaks of your sins are forgiven by Jesus and then it says all sinners will have there part in the Lake of fire... so if you want to leave your etenity with the Lord up in the air go right ahead.

      @Zapruder1984 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tash Parks Did Jesus tell the adulterous woman "go and sin no more, because if you do sin, you won't be saved"?
      I say this because I care about what happens to you.
      What did Jesus say? John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
      "But I live a repentant life so I make sure" - to *make sure* what? That you're saved? If by living a "repentant life" you mean your works, your lifestyle/habit changes, you're relying, at least in part, on your works for salvation and not on Christ alone. Living a "repentant life" like that is a good thing, but it's not good to rely on any of that for salvation. Can't we believe what scripture does say?
      Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
      Romans 3:27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? Nay, but by the law of faith.
      28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by *faith apart from the deeds of the law.*
      Romans 4:3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.
      4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.
      5 But to him that *worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness*.
      6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,
      7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.
      Along with the Calvinism, (hyper or not) I also find this video teaching from these guys very troubling. Anyway, thanks for listening!

I chose God or the teaching of Jesus. • @Zapruder1984
      @Zapruder1984 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tash Parks
      What do near death experiences (real or not) have anything to do with what I wrote about? Maybe you're mixing me up with someone else... Anyway, as I said before, living as much of a sinless life as possible is a good thing - It's just that relying on *any* of that *towards receiving salvation* is a very bad thing...
      Please have a look at the verses I posted previously as well as these;
      Ephesians 2:8 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 *Not of works, lest any man should boast*.
      Titus 3:5 *Not by works of righteousness which we have done*, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
      6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
      7 That being justified *by his grace*, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
      Acts 16:30And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31And they said, *Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ*, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
      Thanks again for listening!

    To say they do is to make paradox the presupposed theology rather than presupposing biblical inerrancy. The logical propositions of Scripture are the fully inspired words of God, without error in every part (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21). Scripture alone is the Word of God. God is absolutely sovereign.

    The Armianian, Lutheran, and semi-Calvinist position is that salvation is merely up to chance and "free will." (Proverbs 16:33). As Dr. Clark said in his lecture on predestination in the Old Testament, Arminians deny that God is the cause of both sin and salvation. However, there are no logical contradictions in Scripture, and there are no apparent paradoxes in Scripture that have no solutions.

      If you would have died in your sins, you would have gone to Hell. You were not living by faith. You had gone back to your own ways. People make this so dang complicated by making a fuss about being saved twice. You were a child of God the whole time, but in the same way the angels rebelled against God and are not damned to the lake of fire, it is the same with you if you continued to live in sin. You're saved by faith, but if you live in sin, how could you remain saved? God is not partial.

    If, therefore, "Free-will" be of one and the same nature and impotency in all men, no reason can be given why it should attain unto grace in one, and not in another; if nothing else be preached to all, but the goodness of a long-suffering and the punishment of a mercy-shewing God. For it is a granted position, that "Free-will" in all, is alike defined to be, 'that which cannot will good.'

    I do not deny what you said right there! You preach against calvinism! Romans 5 says that all the ones who became slaves to sin because of Adam, Jesus died for on the cross. Calvinism would read Romans 5.18, like this: "Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon SOME men unto justification of life." So calvinists would simply take out the word "all" and replace it with "some"!

    Faith comes. It comes by hearing. It comes by hearing the word. "Word" is a translation from a Greek word, logos. Logos means utterance. Faith comes when God speaks. We are saved by grace through faith, and this faith is the gift of God lest anyone should boast. In the text, linguistically, faith, not grace, is the gift that is spoken of here. Of course grace is a free gift as well. And faith gives us access into this grace. It is grace that does the work in us.

    Also, pray for me, I’m addicted to video games(mind you, not the graphic ones). But I’m addicted to them, and I’m trying to minimize it, and I’ve thought about going cold turkey, but it’s really hard. I’m addicted, my roommate is a gamer, my neighbors are gamers(trying to witness to them, so pray for me, and pray for them for their salvation). I gave them bible tracts in comic form. Im praying that it will permeate their conscience, that is, if they read it. I’ve known them for a long time. My first time giving them Bible tracts. Knowing one of them, she’s probably not going to take it well. She’ll either get mad, and I’ll have to keep my distance, or she’ll say I don’t need this religion or I’m not joining another religion. Then I’ll have to try to explain it to her. She is from a Roman Catholic background. The other is reform Jew. I feel like she is becoming more receptive. I think God might be softening her heart, but we’ll see. Prayers. Im new to this whole experimental spreading of the gospel, so prayers. Pray that I don’t freak out, if someone threatens me or lashes out at me in anger, because im a very sensitive person, and im afraid how I’ll react. Im afraid I’ll freak out, get emotional, or react in a very bad way. You know, like fight or flight. Anyways, re video games, there’s always new content coming out, im always tempted to play, but I also don’t want anything competing with God. Before I was witnessed to in college, when I was totally ignorant about God, Didn’t know much about Him, and didn’t know Him at all, video games were my go to to have fun, escape reality, and especially to relieve stress. I now know to go to God to relieve stress, even if it takes time to align with Him, through exercising my spirit, denying myself, and take up the cross, disciplining myself to stay the course. I don’t want video games or anything for that matter to become a form of idolatry, but unfortunately that doesn’t change the fact that they captivate me, are a form of rest/a break from reality, or a high(form of achievement), and the influence and influencers are all around me. The same said neighbors that I’m trying to witness to, that I’ve known for years, invite me over to play video games. My coworkers are gamers. The list goes on. It’s all over the culture, tugging at my temptation(s) at all times. I’ve tried all ways to combat it, I’ve tried praying, ect., giving it to God. I know someone’s going to mention fasting(I have a whole bunch of obstacles in that area, and have next to no experience. That’s an entirely different topic. But yeah, also, I have been a gamer since I was 3 years old and picked up an atari controller, then moved on to Nintendo. But yeah, you can say I’m weathering this constant ongoing storm, that started as I grew in the knowledge of Christ, and it seems like it’s going to be endless for the rest of my life. It seems like this battle is never going to end, and every day going forward is going to be a battlefield in this balancing act of existence. Also, one night, my pastor who I used to spend a lot of time with(whom baptized me at church) gave me and my friends a ride home from church. I rarely see him these days, even at church. He says he still goes, but I don’t see him often. He must be busy. I miss the days when we used to always hang out and fellowship and go to Bible Study together. It was me, my neighbors, and two close friends from church. I remember everyone(including myself) was talking about hanging out and playing video games. My pastor said, video games, oh no. I almost then and there confessed and said that we are all addicted to video games. I wish I had said it. I regret not bringing it up, every day. Had i confessed that, I might have gotten some counseling or something that would’ve helped. To this day, I battle navigating this storm. I don’t want to be under sin, guilt, and/or shame, but it feels like my whole life/existence is a struggle. My roommate, BTW, is on the lease(how it came to that, I have no idea), but I’m dealing with some kind of affliction. I have to deal with him every day, and he’s highly distractive. I often have to remove myself from him. This after my last roommate was bad as well. Psychotic, aggressive, time bomb, goes from 0 to 60, and Traumatic. It seems like I keep none stop going from one toxic roommate to the next. And I hear people always telling me, if one leaves, I could get someone worse. I’m starting to get the feeling that this is my fate. And that I’m never going to escape it nor figure out how to cope with toxic people you can’t remove yourself from. Cuz I’ve looked it up, and so far, I haven’t found any biblical answers for it. This reminds me of a verse, someone cleans out a house, of demons, but after they clean house, several more demons come, stronger and more powerful than the first. And the verse that talks about the strong man and having to first bind the strong man before you can enter the house. This whole section seems to refer to me. 😞🙏

Repent, Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, put full faith and confidence in him, be born again and yes obey him. Without holiness no man will see God. Some will read this comment and say "oh thats works." Repenting is not works any way you slice it. Obeying him is not works because you are born again you have been given the grace to obey. We can do all things thru Christ who strengthens us.

    Would it be wrong for God to hate anyone? It seems that God does indeed hate all workers of iniquity (Ps 5:5) and that God's wrath abides upon all those who do NOT have the Son. (John 3:36) I'm not necessarily defending Calvinism here, but there are certain attributes that God has that cannot be overlooked. IF Calvinism teaches that God whimsically decided to put ppl in hell then that certainly does not describe the God of the Bible. (2 Peter 3:9)

    I talked to a paster who believes what Ray is saying on this video. I asked him, "If you truly believe what you are saying about repentance and faith and evidence, then your actions of someone coming to the alter to be saved would be to tell them, 'We don't recommend you get baptized yet as we need to wait about 6 months or so to see if your repentance is valid and you truly meant it'," and he replied "Yes, I think that would be appropriate". This is a pastor who has been baptizing for decades after a profession of faith. He evidently is not acting according to his belief.
    I also wonder, if Ray's comments are true, then why baptize someone right away? If salvation is not by works, then why do we use works to judge one's salvation? And if we judge this way, where do we draw the line? If we see them commit one sin, do we declare them unsaved? How about 10 sins, or 6 months of sins or 20 years of sins? They still do them over and over all these years. Not saved? Let me ask Ray, after all your years of christian maturity and growth in the faith, are you still committing the sin of pride, jealousy, impure or Godless thoughts? If so and you believe you're saved, how is it, after decades later, you still commit the same sins over and over again? You say you confess but is your repentance real and did you really, really, really, mean it. If I'm looking from the outside and I see this in you, I would have to judge that your faith must not be valid and you did not truly mean it because here you are committing the sin all these years later.
    I believe God only tells us to judge based on one's words/profession regardless of their life. We are to act according to their profession and not their works as far as declaring someone saved or not.
    If they say they believe and are saved but continue to live in blatant disregard to God's word and obedience to it, the bible tells us (after going through church discipline) to cast them out and ""treat"" them as an unbeliever. It never says to call them unbelievers. ie. be careful we don't pull the wheat with the tares. Let God do that in the end. This is such an unhealthy teaching as it turns us into little god's or little holy spirits. We become prideful and live our fake christian life pretending we are holier than every one else. If we truly repented then we just can't fall away. (Ray's teaching) Plus we can't share our sins with anyone so they can pray for us out of fear we will be labeled unsaved. We end up lifting ourselves up buy obsessing with keeping an eye on all the other christians to make sure they are keeping up and getting better every day. Otherwise we need to tell them they must not be saved and they need to repent again and this time really REALLY mean it!
    I see it this way. I cannot choose to believe. If I come out of a closed building and was told it was like a monsoon out side when 2 minutes earlier I walked in with sunshine and blue skies, I could not believe them. If they proceed to take me out and show me the rain, wind and I feel it with my own hands, I can't help but believe. I didn't choose to believe. It was revealed to me. If I now choose not to believe, now that is a choice and it is likely I am lying, or I am a lunatic. We believe because God revealed truth to us and our response is a change of mind (repentance) and a declaration of "I believe"! Just like a newborn child's cry is the declaration of life outside the womb. The child isn't choosing life, they are realizing life, per say. So our repentance and faith in Jesus Christ is the response we portray that God has given us new life. We are still the same sinners but now His work is embryonic. It's a slow process of the Holy Spirit working in us. This cannot be judged outwardly by others as far as salvation is concerned. When we say "I" believe, it isn't a statement of something I did, it is a statement of something I just realized about myself and that is how God designed language. We have to use words like I. There is no other way of expressing it but it is not a work. This way God gets all the glory and it is His work and His grace. To God be all the glory!!!

  • @lindajohnson4204
    @lindajohnson4204 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Repentance is not an addition to faith; it is the way we arrive at saving faith. It is a change of heart, not the eventual _results_ of repentance, which are works. That change of heart, is us realizing that sin is bad enough for our punishment to be just, and that we need God's mercy to be saved. We learn the gospel, that we can be saved by putting our faith in Jesus, but we only see our need by allowing God to bring us to a repentant heart.
    Two examples of what repentance looks like in the Bible, are of the thief on the cross, and the parable of the publican and the Pharisee. To be broken-heated about sin, like these men, is to have allowed God to show us how our sin looks to Him, and that we desperately need His mercy.

    As long as David Cohen is one of the few predestined for salvation, he is satisfied and praises his lord. The fact that most of humanity never got the same chance as he did, and are predestined for Hell, does not bother him at all. As long as he is safe, everything is ok. What calvinists don`t see, is that when they say: "For no reason at all, and all undeserved, god chose me for salvation", the same thing can be say about the unsaved: "For no reason at all, god chose most people for damnation".

The implication here is that God does not and never did desire to save the reprobate (Romans 9:11-13, 18; 1 Peter 2:8; Isaiah 46:10).

Everyone can see that that is not right! I believe in a sovereign God, but I also believe in a God that is just and good. So naturally this view is justification/salvation by faith alone. Sola Fide. Now in this view, Justification necessitates Sanctification, you cannot have one without the other, but Sanctification has no role is Salvation, it is a product of it.

If it was very important for salvation, it would be clearly said. It’s obvious that we should repent of our sins, but it’s not necessary for salvation, it is a work only. Meaning if you believe and you are the worst believer on the planet, you are still saved.
