When I was in college a long time ago. When something was due I would stay up all night listening to orbital. Also every new year we would go and see them in Dublin.
Is anyone on here the guy who shouts "Go on Orbital" at 01:20 in the Dr Who, Glastonbury 2004 vid? Because of.it, every time I listen to that track on the album or a playlist I shout it in an English accent. Have done for nearly 16 years. 😃
I will be playing halcyon on and on at my funeral, and chime. I heard you first when I was 13 years old. Music before you meant nothing to me. I then made electronic music under the name fringe and ilex_ for awhile. All because of you. You can hear the touch of god in your tracks. Thank you for doing what you did, and for showing us where it all began. xxx
Brilliant so reminds me of growing up with my eldest brother very similar house and estate, he went of and joined the Army and basically I had nothing to do until I found electronic music and purchased my first analogue mono synth an octave kitten II and a TR 606 Drumatix from a second hand shop and started to make tapes. Really appreciate making this video it's spurred me on to grab some of my old gear from the loft and have some fun.
I understand this totally. My grans front door had a hinged flap at the bottom, I think it was for draughts, but everytime the door opened it made a clack-clack noise. I can still hear it in my minds ear and Im 54. It fills me with warm love for my gran. I'd love to hear that once more. You guys are pretty local to me, not only did i buzz around on scooters in Darford, but Sevenoaks also. A loose head cowling on a lambretta has a nice rythmic rattle btw.
It would be awesome if you could put together a music video with some of your childhood footage. Maybe as a video to Belfast or maybe The Girl With The Sun In Her Head.

I just realised that amounts to a lot of time. What's that condition called like in Dancer in the Dark when you hear music in everything? Cos I reckon that's what's going on.

I used to do similar stuff, down the storm drains on a newly built motorway, sticking your head out with six Wheeler Volvo BM trucks hurtling over you. LOL

My story is much the same, summer of 97’ on MTV’s 120 minutes, seeing/hearing “The Box” opened up a new world of music to me. So thankful.
