Those Florida beaches are something else, I bet a bunch of the top beaches are in Florida! Looks like a bunch of activities to enjoy as well. I enjoy going to the beach in the morning, that's the main part I miss the most about visiting the beach!
Oh that view from the second floor with the drinks was just blissful. How can anyone not love the these videos?! Walks on the beach, walks to bars, walks to boardwalks, Ahhhhhh. I've been in one of those wind tunnels before they are fun. Another place added to my to do list. The large chair that ate Skyler!
Just got around to trying Pirates pub & grub for the first time after I had rewatched this. Food was great. Drinks were very very strong. I have my friend in the Tampa St.Pete area watching you guys now. I hope to be back again soon from Cincinnati. Love this area.
LRM is ready to head there on Wednesday since that is my day off. She was SOLD when you went to the pub with the GINORMOUS flights and the strength of the beers. Thanks for exploring ahead of us and we are set to give the beach and pub a LLWAV grand tour. You both rock! LLWAV!!
You can really see why it was voted as the #9 beach, as its stunning. Pirates pub looked incredible, drink and food with a view, you can never beat that. The brewery that you visited had such a great variety and I (Adam) could stay in a place like that the whole day..hehehe. Really loved you tour of Madiera beach and cant wait for your next adventure. ONE LOVE
Yeah it's almost hard to find a place without a view in Madeira Beach! I (Skylar) could have spent all day in the brewery too, which would definitely have lead to some entertaining (but probably not usable) footage!
Yeah, we love Mad Beach brewing. Rumor has it that they are opening a brewery closer to where we live in St. Pete, so we are excited about that! Thanks for watching, Michael.
This beach looks beautiful! 😍 We haven't been to the beach in waaaay too long! Looks like there are also lots of nice cafes and restaurants as well! Great video guys, lots of useful information 😄
We used to miss the beach soo much too when we lived up north. Now we miss the hills, but the beach never really gets old. Thanks so much for the support!
Another great video featuring a beautiful beach! My mother's family is from Madeira Portugal so I think I would like to visit Madeira Beach since that may be the closest I will get to "Madeira" for a while 😄 I love that you guys feature local breweries in some of your videos. A couple of friends introduced me to craft beer about five or six years ago and I've made it a point to visit at least one brewery everywhere I travel to. The brewery in this video seems AWESOME! The vodka drink at Caddy's looked yummy! I love the saying on the cup and it's so great that you got to keep the cup 🙂
Oh that's so cool. We both really want to visit Portugal sometime, and it very well may be the first country in Europe that we visit. Trying out the local brews is one of our favorite things to do when we travel, especially after an active day! Mad Beach brewing is definitely one of the cooler breweries in the area. We actually just went to another new one yesterday in Indian Rocks Beach. That video will likely be coming out in 3 weeks or so! Thanks so much for the continued supporting, Tonya!
@@Explorcation Yay! I'm looking forward to the new video! I'm slowly making my way through your older videos to get inspiration for my trip. I'm not sure what month you recommend visiting. It's looking like I may not be able to get away until September or October. I thought I heard that it rains a lot in September, though.
@@tawnykc83 hmm a recommendation for a month to visit can be tough, we love Florida year round 😁 September and October can be great for visiting the beaches, the gulf water is really warm then and we tend to experience the most colorful sunsets 🌅 that time of year. But that is also rainy season. Many rainy season days have quick showers in the afternoon, but if you happen to visit during a tropical storm or hurricane then it can rain all day. ⛈ some of my fave beach memories are from being at the beach in Oct ❤
wow the beach goes foe miles!!! perfect golden sand!!! look so bliss!! awh guys!!! you have gone a made me hungry 😋 loved how you went to lots of places!! ohhh now beer come one your making me so jealous!! great video guys!! :)
Yeah one of the benefits of the flatness of Florida is that the beaches do go on forever. We do miss the hills at times, but we live in a pretty good place 😊
The boardwalk looks like a really fun place with a bit of everything. You have shown us some amazing breweries and restaurants in Florida...wow that pineapple vanilla sour looks tasty. I don't think I have ever had alligator before and I totally want to try it. I love all the touristy attractions like that shark mouth photo op and the hurricane simulator. How fun! The beach is beautiful as well...turquoise water and white sand...yes, I totally want to visit one day!
The Vanilla Sour was Skylar's favorite. It was really good! We've tried gator a handful of times since moving to FL and were never too impressed. We're so glad we gave it another shot though because the gator at Pirates was fantastic!
We can see why the main beach gets busy, looks like a great area. Great tips on the smaller beach access spots! Omg that muffin looks DELICIOUS. The specialty drink at Caddy's also looks like a great option. There really seems to be a lot to do in the area. You guys are making us want to get on a plane and spend a week at the beaches!
We love all the small access points on Madeira. They make it much easier to avoid the big crowds. Hope you guys are able to get some warm weather and beach time in before too long!
My wife is working as a realtor and she recently rent an apartment as an office in Madeira beach(we are living in Orlando) so I can also visit there for a weekend or something like that. It's really nice to have a place by the beach😆 Wow!! That coffee shop looks amazing!! I should definitely try next time I visit there! Thanks for the tip how to spend in Madeira beach👍
That is so awesome you have a place to go and say on Madeira, it is such a fun area. We would highly recommend the coffee shop, everything we have tried there so far has been delicious :) Thanks so much for watching!
Guys this is such a great guide - definitely saving it for any future trips to FL! Ahh we totally miss being in an area where everything is walking distance. Walking to breakfast sounds AMAZING. All the food sounds incredible, although not sure about the gator 😮. Honestly I thought you'd go flying in the hurricane simulator haha
Yeah pretty much everything in Madeira Beach is just a quick walk down the beach. Luckily the hurricane simulator only was a cat 1! I'd normally say you aren't missing out by not eating gator, but the gator at Pirates really was delicious!
Love the views from the beach bar! That would be a nice place to hydrate and take a break from the sun! Good to know about all the different parking options and how to avoid the crowds. David loves crowds. I don't as much. Madeira beach really does look lovely. Somewhere we would definitely want to check out!
The beach is so beautiful there. I'd love that coffee shop and the beach bar too. I've never had alligator before. I love how you always find the good breweries. You are my people! 🤣 That flight looked incredible 👌 the seafood dinner looked yummy too.
Lol yeah I don't think most people try alligator until they visit Florida, or maybe Louisiana. And honestly it's not usually that great, but the gator at Pirates was amazing! Yeah visiting breweries is definitely becoming a theme of our recent videos. We just can't pass up trying new beers. And it always makes filming a lot more interesting the rest of the day 😂
Thank you for the informative video. I just left Madeira Beach February 2021 and Caddy’s wasn’t open yet. It looks like my new hangout spot! I will be back next year. My favorite restaurant in Madeira Beach is Conch Republic. It has tons of outdoor seating and great seafood.
Boy that sure looks like Treasure Island, If you haven't been there, you should check it out. Lots to do there as well. I do agree, Johns Pass is so fun
Yeah, they do border each other, so I guess it makes sense that their beaches look similar. We have been to Treasure Island quite a few times. We love watching bands play at Ka'Tiki and of course sipping on drinks at Sloppy Joe's and Caddy's!
Wow, you guys really do live near some gorgeous beaches! The speciality drink you had at the beach bar sounded delicious and the boardwalk stroll looked pretty nice. That huge plank flight looked awesome, shame you needed 3 people (although probably for the best, haha)!
Skylar's friend is having his bachelor party in this area in a few weeks and they have decided that they will definitely be doing the plank flight. Probably multiple. It will be interesting! 😅
So I just recently found you and I was telling my husband that I am shocked that I haven't seen you two around as we seem to enjoy the same places! Cheers
All your videos will come in handy when we are visiting Florida again! I really like your colorful hat btw, had to say it! Brand New Beach bar seems like an amazing spot, that's where I need to be :) I enjoy you guys visiting breweries, if we meet in person one day, we have to go to a brewery together!
Thank you!!! The hat has come in really handy the last couple of weekends! There are so many great options for great food and drinks right on the beach around here, and we hope you two get to experience all if them some day soon!
Wow, we have beaches like this in Queensland, But not really that close to me....probably over an hour away to get to some. I couldn't see the Parasailers in your video, it's so much fun and done it a couple of times. Madeira beach looks beautiful! Parking doesn’t sound too easy or cheap though 😅 The marshmallow beer sounds so good, they all do actually! People live on 1664 here 😅 so funny hearing Skylar say he’s never had it.
Yeah parking on the beaches is always a challenge if you don't show up early, especially during spring break season! The marshmellow beer was Jamie's favorite. A little sweet for my taste, but pretty good in small doses. Yeah 1664 is definitely not too common around here. I don't know if I could live on it, but I'd gladly drink a few more!
Your video is helping pick a new spot for us to visit for our families Florida vacation each year! 👍👍👍 Now just have to pick a place to stay in Madeira Beach any suggestions. I have been eyeballing the Cambria.
We are so glad to hear our video is helping plan your next visit! We have been to the rooftop bar/pool at the Cambria - it is very nice (but we have not seen the rooms). It would be about a block or so walk to the beach (which in my opinion is pretty good, but I know many people prefer to be right on the beach). In the past we have had good luck renting condos through sites like VRBO or Airbnb. I know some of the fees on those sites have gone up recently though. I hope this helps :)
Hi Larissa. Thanks so much for the support! Since we live in downtown St. Pete and also have family living out on the beaches, we don't have much experience with renting out on the beaches. We stayed at the Barefoot Beach club several years back and got a really good deal, but not sure where the rates run these days.
I love your videos! I just wanted to let you know that the Amazon link to your sand free beach blanket is no longer working. Thanks again for making such detailed and helpful videos! P.S. - your sun hat with the flamingos and palm trees is fabulous. ☺️
Thanks so much for the kind comments, Erica. Also, thanks for letting us know about the link. We'll try to get a new link posted assuming the product is still being made!
How about the Candy Kitchen??? That was my college job in the late 70's. Back then there was a place called Skip's Beach Bar....such a fun, cool place to hang out !
The Candy Kitchen has been on our list to check out. I really don't know why we haven't been there to try it out yet. That is so cool it haw been open that long. Next time we drive by I am going to stop in!
@@Explorcation I worked there in 1976 !!!! i stopped in while on vacation and it looked the same as when I walked out the door last day I worked there.
Hi Crystal. We'd recommend checking out the Williams Park market in St. Pete on Saturdays, or the vendors at the St. Pete Pier Friday through Sunday. We aren't too familiar with any of the Tampa markets, but we do hope to start exploring Tampa more over the next several months. Let us know if you find any good ones!
Hi Russel. Thanks for letting us know. It appears that they have discontinued making that blanket, which is a bummer since we wanted to order ourselves another one. I wish we had another recommendation for you and hope you are able to find yourself a good one! Thanks for watching.
Oh wow I wish we could recall. We filmed this over 2 years ago and there are so many little beach accesses on Madeira Beach. If you had enough time you could probably get on Google Street maps and figure it out though! Thanks for watching!
So cool that both #1 and #9 top beaches in USA are right next to another! Love the coffee shop with live music. That restaurant with the alligator po boy whoa! Never had alligator before is that a common protein in Florida at restaurants?
Gator is fairly common menu item at the more touristy restaurants on the islands. It's a bit of a novelty item and honestly not usually that great, but the gator at Pirates was amazing. Just got to know how to cook it I guess!
We would definitely consider living in Madeira Beach someday. When we have been there, we have always felt safe, but I've heard that the property crime rate is higher than average.
It's been a while since we've been to Madeira on a week day, but I wouldn't expect it to be nearly as busy as it was when we visited (on a weekend during spring break).
Oh wow that's a really hard question to answer without know how many of you there are and what you plan to do. There are plenty of budget friendly food and drink options in the area though.
Great question, Jim. Unfortunately public transit where we live in St. Pete and out to the local beaches is pretty slow and not very efficient. Thankfully that is going to change soon as they are installing a new rapid transit system that is supposed to be up and running later this year. So hopefully you'll see us riding the bus more in our videos soon!
@@Explorcation we are coming down in a couple weeks and have an airbnb on central Ave right in the middle of town. Even though we will have a car my plan was to use the shuttles. Is that a misstake?
@@jimstafford6171 the free trolley called the St Pete Looper is actually great if you are just looking to get around downtown St Pete. The only reason we don't use it often is because we enjoy walking and also own electric scooters. As far as getting outside of downtown or to the beaches, the public transport can get you there, but it's not quick. It's still a better option than driving if you don't have a sober driver or don't want to deal with paying for parking on the islands!
I feel bad for the people who already owned the $600,000 condos before a beach bar was built right nest to the kitchen windows....used to be a mom.and pop hotel with very affordable rioms....all long gone and unaffordable...I live on the beach over 10 years before the price forced all the locals away...every bar and club used to have live music 7 nights a week...not.for years..st Pete beach absolutely sucks and do get caught by the st Pete Beach cops....John's pass is a tourist trap and the once Mighty Gators on the Pass is long gone......interesting note...Bamboo Beer Garden in John's Pass Village is owned by Gen from the Genitorturers.....S&M Goth band.from Tampa
Next time you visit Madiera Beach! Go to the snack shack. Visit with our favorite bartender Helen!
Thanks for the recommendation, we will have to check out the Snack Shack 😁❤️

It would be about a block or so walk to the beach (which in my opinion is pretty good, but I know many people prefer to be right on the beach). In the past we have had good luck renting condos through sites like VRBO or Airbnb. I know some of the fees on those sites have gone up recently though. I hope this helps :)
Hiiiiiiii 🇯🇪 Happy New Years from Brian and Wendy
Thanks and happy new year to the two of you as well!
Wow, what an awesome video! Thank you so much for all the tips! Any tips for where to stay on a budget within walkable distance to the main entrance?
Hi Larissa. Thanks so much for the support! Since we live in downtown St. Pete and also have family living out on the beaches, we don't have much experience with renting out on the beaches. We stayed at the Barefoot Beach club several years back and got a really good deal, but not sure where the rates run these days.
Very nice place
Yes, we love Madeira Beach. Thanks for watching, James.
I was at Madeira Beach Yesterday.
We hope you had a great time in the area, thanks for watching :)
You have to watch where you walk. Some areas are restricted to hotel use.
I'm coming to Tampa next week! Never been! So excited to see the local stuff! Any markets or vendor events next week? I'd love to go!
@@Explorcation will do!
The Sand Free Beach Blanket Link doesn’t work any more….. you have a better link?
Hi Russel. Thanks for letting us know. It appears that they have discontinued making that blanket, which is a bummer since we wanted to order ourselves another one. I wish we had another recommendation for you and hope you are able to find yourself a good one! Thanks for watching.
Hello what hotel was that at the beginning with the close beach front?
Oh wow I wish we could recall. We filmed this over 2 years ago and there are so many little beach accesses on Madeira Beach. If you had enough time you could probably get on Google Street maps and figure it out though! Thanks for watching!
@@Explorcation thank u
We are planning a trip very soon. How is it during pandemic? Are pools and bars open? I am dying for some warmth, sun, beach, ocean!
Yes nearly all pools and bars are open from what we could tell. And the spring breakers are starting to clear out. You should have a great time!
@@Explorcation thank you soooooo much!!!! We're going in less than two weeks. Can't wait!!!! Thanks for quick response. Much appreciated!!!
Wow! Do you recommend living nearby there? Is the neighborhood safe? 😊
We would definitely consider living in Madeira Beach someday. When we have been there, we have always felt safe, but I've heard that the property crime rate is higher than average.
Will it be this packed on a weekday?
It's been a while since we've been to Madeira on a week day, but I wouldn't expect it to be nearly as busy as it was when we visited (on a weekend during spring break).
Which place do you prefer? St. Pete Beach or Madeira Beach? thanks! :)
Ohh that's a tough one. If we're looking a relaxing beach day, Madeira, but if we're looking for a day of fun/entertainment, SPB.
How much money you recommend bringing for a whole week
Oh wow that's a really hard question to answer without know how many of you there are and what you plan to do. There are plenty of budget friendly food and drink options in the area though.
In all your vids you are not using the transit shuttles, why not?

Ahh we loved Gators. Also very interesting info about the Bamboo Beer Garden. Thanks for sharing.
@@Explorcation I worked at Gators for 7 years
please don't hit the camera
so bad 👎
We appreciate the feedback, and are happy to share that we stopped doing that in our videos well over a year ago! Thanks for watching.
