    Do you have a Satellite tracker/messenger ie Garmin InReach or Spot Messenger for your friends and family to keep track of you, especially travelling in Africa.

    • @ForTheLoveOfWheels
      @ForTheLoveOfWheels  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks a lot. Yes, I have a SPOT tracker. I started with a Garmin Inreach, but it didn't agree with the electricity in Morocco, and twice I had one fried when charging it. It was a real problem for me. Garmin suggested I buy another brand... and so I bought a SPOT that runs on batteries. It's just simpler and works better far away from home - which is where you need a device like that.

    I’ve also done much of the same upgrades as you: suspension, protection, comfort. Just different suppliers aside from the Baja Worx screen, I’m running the same one.

    Great video! Did you do all the upgrades yourself? I wouldn't know where to begin when it comes to suspension and clutch plate replacements. Even the handguards can be tricky to bend properly. Sometimes I think I'm not ready for a longer ride. 😞

    • @ForTheLoveOfWheels
      @ForTheLoveOfWheels  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I didn't do suspension or handlebar/heated grips. I am not good with electronics.
      The clutch is easy. I will make a video on it.
      Tank is also easy. The led front light quite easy as well. Everything else I did myself. I try to learn all the time to know the Honda better and better. I often get surprised when I see how the mechanics work. So rough. Don't clean the parts, no grease before putting things back together. So I do most myself and otherwise together with the mechanics.
      That said, I learn a lot from them. And one guy in Austria and two in South Africa were phenomenal. Also the mechanics back in Denmark let me work with them. Very skilled guys.

      @@JohnnyFuelMotorcycleAdventures I think none of us are ready for the long ride. We just learn on the way. Some things are really easy for others, but very difficult for me. Some speak Portuguese, I have to make do with body language. Some navigate amazingly, others get lost constantly and have the bigger adventure that way. When I throw myself into a new project its not without hesitation or insecurity. But I trust that I will probably find out, if I prepare well and don't take on more than one new thing at the time.
      It can be very stressful to share these things with the world, because I know I will be judged when I mess up - and I surely mess up plenty. But I try not to let that control me.

      Sand has been ok so far. But steep knarly loose rock has been tough a few times. But a different gearing will help a lot. Something I completely forgot to mention. I have a 13 tooth front sprocket. And a 42 rear would help a lot.

      Actually thinking about your comment, there was one time in Morocco, at the infamous White Beach, where I couldn't get up a 700 meter long sand dune. But my friends, who were riding T700's also couldn't. Even when we took our luggage off. Think only a lighter enduro bike would make it up that dune. Or maybe more skilled riders! 🙈🙈🙈

    Wonderful video again Henriette. Thank you for showing us your bike setup. It is super fun for us CRF250L owners to compare and learn from each other on how we do things. I am also considering heated grips - which brand did you have issues with? Also how do you find the stock mirrors? I find they have significant blind spots and I was considering trying the Doubletake's. Did you consider these? TIA and keep the videos coming

    • @ForTheLoveOfWheels
      @ForTheLoveOfWheels  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I had Yamaha heated grips. The plastic cover on the control came off and I think water killed it. Maybe any heated grip would die, but I would definitely not go with the Yamaha again.
      I didn't like the looks og the double take. The RAM mounts are too big and heavy. There are cheaper and nicer ones out there. But I just didn't get around to do it before I left. I haven't noticed blind spots on mine!
