Does Germanwings Flight 9525 ring a familiar bell? He locked out the pilot and then proceeded to intentionally crash the plane, killing all aboard. He wasn’t supposed to fly that day and he had a notice one of his doctors.

    Dear FlightChannel,
I've been a long-time follower of your channel and feel compelled to share some concerns. Recently, the re-uploading of older content seems to detract from the unique authenticity of your work. Additionally, the shift from focusing on one detailed story per video to combining multiple narratives appears to compromise the depth and style we've come to love.
Understanding the immense effort required to produce your high-quality content, if current challenges are hindering your ability to maintain this standard, perhaps considering a break could be beneficial. Your reputation for excellence is what draws us to your channel, and it's crucial not to let that diminish by releasing content that doesn't meet your own legendary standards.
This feedback comes from a place of great respect for your work and a wish to see your channel continue to succeed.

Investigating and researching into a different aviation accident can be a lot of work but I’m sure it’ll be interesting and refreshing for us as an audience rather than seeing a video that has already been released multiple times in different formats
And even the accident doesn’t have to be well known or tragic but something new to cover and watch

I'm continually amazed by how often serious mental illness is overlooked when those afflicted are allowed to continue their attempts to integrate with mainstream society, with little regard of the potential dangers to the public. It's as if reporting problems with such individuals is somehow inhumane, and a person who dares to bring up the need for possible medical observation and evaluation of a seriously deranged individual is chastised for "making waves" and causing trouble.
I'm reminded of recent multiple homicides reported in NYC, caused by deranged individuals who suddenly push innocent commuters to their deaths in front of incoming subway trains. These murderers have long histories of deranged behaviors which are obvious to anyone who is in their proximity. Usual symptoms are threatening behavior to any and all people in their presence, and unpredictably acting out their delusions on anyone and anything at any time.
Whatever is going wrong with our society has been going wrong for a long time with nobody making any effort to fix it.
I agree that mentally ill persons are also people who deserve rights, but not at the expense of the rest of society who need to be protected from these potential and actual murderers whose brains short-circuit at any time.

Well said! I’m tired of people like my nephew getting a free pass just because he’s bipolar and schizophrenic. He’s fine when he takes his meds but then, as is common for many bipolar people, he decides he doesn’t need to take them any more because he feels great. If he went out and committed another crime, there would be tons of people saying the usual tropes of, “Well, we need to take mental health seriously! It’s not his fault we don’t make mental health care available!” and the tired, “Society failed him!” No, “society” didn’t fail him in the slightest: he failed himself. He has the capacity to know he has to remain under treatment and take the meds his doctors have prescribed. Society isn’t making him sell drugs for a living because he doesn’t want an actual job, and society didn’t make him break into people’s houses for a quick buck, either. He alone is responsible for his choices and actions and if he decides to go commit another crime, he needs to be removed from society for OUR protection.
When heinous crimes are committed by people like the captain and airline employee in the video, or the deranged murderers who push people in front of trains, the victims and their families are typically immediately forgotten if the criminals have - or claim to have - any mental health issues. All of the sympathy goes to them because “they weren’t in their right mind and shouldn’t be held responsible,” but that doesn’t make their victims any less dead, and it doesn’t alleviate any of the shock, horror, grief, anger, loss, and trauma their families have to live with for the rest of their lives. Sure, murderers like the captain should be treated in a psychiatric hospital for a time, but then they should be sent to prison to finish serving out the rest of the sentence any other murderer would have gotten - not sent home to “live quietly with his wife in the shadow of Mount Fuji.”

With a severe major depression, hallucinations are common, and can be indistinguishable from reality for the patient. They may appear to be ‘normal’, but with a strange mental dialogue. Intelligence is not reduced, and they can often disguise their symptoms. Mental illness is a career killer for many professions, such as pilots, nurses, and physicians. Many people consider it to be a moral lack, or lack of will to overcome it by oneself. Therapy is seen as a weakness, and precludes any future trust or advancement.

Doctor-patient confidentiality has caused people to be killed in some cases! This concept should not be applied to jobs such as piloting. If the pilot's wrist is broken, the airline notices this and the pilot is not allowed to fly because his physical health is not good. But when it comes to psychological health?
If a pilot is not in good mental condition to fly safely, psychologists should be allowed to warn the airline about that crew member.
