  • Tarague Beach on Andersen AFB is a pretty nice beach located here in Guam. It's rarely crowded, the water is crystal clear, and only 25 minutes away from where I live. For you pet lovers, there are no dogs allowed on this beach.
Bamboo Willies is a small restaurant on the beach and is opened on Friday evenings and Saturdays.

Beautiful video. I was stationed at Andersen from 1988-1990. Loved Guam. Hated to leave. The drive down to the beach is gorgeous. Video makes me nostalgic. Sigh.

My father was stationed at Andersen AFB from 1961-62 and I spent a lot of time at this beach. This place was like heaven for a 12 year old kid. Makes me very nostalgic. Thanks for posting this.

Wow this brought back so many memories. Loved our PT runs down at Tarague beach. Also, remember crashing a work truck going up the hill 😂. My first and best duty station. 36th Civil Engineer Squadron, 2010-2012

My dad was stationed there 82-85. I was 8-11 yrs old. That drive to Tarague beach brings back so many great memories. Such a great experience and everything we did was on Anderson AFB. Little baseball, soccer, the youth center, walking to Anderson Elementary school, and there was a burger place with video games called the Latti Stone. Also, there was an outdoor theater where everyone would meet. I can remember watching Indiana Jones, The Goonies, and Karate Kid just to name a few.

Tfs! My family was stationed at Anderson AirForce in 81-83'. I was 13 & remember camping there overnight. A boar was messing around outside my tent & it freaked me out! Spent the rest of the night sleeping in the car! There were wild boar traps around there everywhere. That beach is amazing! I appreciate your video. I now have something to show my children & grandchildren about my 3 years there. What a blessing!

Thanks for the stroll down memory lane! The beach of my youth (‘65-‘67 and ‘71-74). Wonderful memories!

Hey! We were there for six months in the mid-60's. My mom's biggest fear was 1. Losing our brakes and going over the edge on the way down (don't think they had the guard rails then, at least no so extensively) and 2. the notorious Portuguese man-of-war!

Was at Andersen in 74-75. Loved Tarague Beach, I think it was the best one on the island. There was no Bamboo Willie's when I was there. There were NO services except a restroom and picnic tables. First thing we saw was a baby shark in that coral reef.

I love the beaches in Tumon because the water is much calmer there.

@@SoulPathWisdom I remember one day we were going to the beach there and right before the road opens up and goes down the hillside, a large wild pig came out of the bushes from the left and ran across the road to the right snorting at us. Lol I almost ran into it.

@@northsider1960thank goodness for whoever made the guard rails cus I crashed a work truck and hit the rail when I was stationed there. Saved my life! Funny thing is my excuse was going to be I saw a wild boar cross the road and I swerved and hit the rail but I pretty much let them know I dozed off 😂

@@deetony211 you cannot duplicate that view you get when you start going down the road to the beach. I had to be careful I didn’t stray off also while looking at it. Such an awesome sight that has to be seen in person to capture the full beauty

I grew up there in the 70s during the Vietnam era. It was crowded back then, Regardless, it is a place of fond memories for me. There was no asphalt back then. It was all sand roads on the beach. I remember a red wood dragon on the road down. It was on the right side of the road going down. Also it came to a T. If you went right it went to CE Beach and left was Tarague.

I was there while in the Air Force. Absolutely beautiful. Good a horrendous sunburn though. Take a look art the cliffs around the island. You can see why it took so long to take the island from the Japanese.
